Great “good for almost everything” lens

When the opportunity arose to get my own lens, I chose to upgrade to the newer model and have been very pleased with the results! Excellent choice in a “catch all” lens.

24-70mm GMII gives outstanding resolution

I attached it to my 60Mega Pixel Sony A7R4 for my photography tour in Utah. I really like this combination. It gave me the portability of being compact and lightweight, as well as the required focus range. It effectively delivers well focused images with excellent sharpness, clarity and low distortion. In particular, its high resolution allows me to crop images taken at a long distance, giving me an extended digital zoom capability, which reduces my need to switch to telephoto in many situations.

I initially had the mark 1 version but I would say that this newer release is as highly versatile, so easy to use, and the lighter weight makes so much of a difference. The aperture ring also makes this upgrade also all the more worth the use. I'm excited to make more videos and capture photos with this gem!

So happy I made the jump to the G-master lens. In the last month two of my clients said their footage looks better than real life because of how sharp this lens is and the f2.8 helps you get those beautiful out of focus backgrounds. The image stabilization of this lens with my FX3 body is rock steady handheld at 70mm. Nothing like a G Master lens for your don’t camera. Once you shoot with one you’ll never want anything else.

Loving this lens compare to v1

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't know what Sony did with this lens, but the glare is so creamy now compare to the older version, creamy is a good thing because it makes the shot look mesmerizing and dreamy. The aputure ring is definitely my favorite thing that Sony have done with their new lens. Highly recommend this over the old one for this astetic alone if you're a run and gun shooter who goes from building to outside right away.
