I’ve been in the market for some time to cover this range between my primes and finally jumped in after seeing so much praise for this iteration. Best Sony Lens I've ever purchased

I highly recommend this lens. it's special and has a new aperture ring around it to where at the spin of the dial you can change your F stomp!

Well worth the price of admission for handheld.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally purchased the Sony 24-105mm f/4 for my A7R IV body but one thing that kept bothering me was the mediocre handheld results with my journalistic style photography. And so I decided to return it and upgrade to the Sony 24-70 mm f/2.8 GM II lens and boy am I glad I did. More compact and smoother lens all around, much better shooting performance for handheld low light shooting, and really good bokeh and control of the depth of field allows me to really dial in my shots. I have this lens on my camera 90% of the time and I have zero complaints. Well worth the $1k price difference to get here.

Amazing quality and lightweight

Its expensive but quite worth. Definitely there is a Sigma lens at lower price, but you would definitely feel the difference.
