Great all purpose lens. Light, easy to carry and takes great all around shots for all occasions. Love the price because I'm not trapped by thinking you gotta pay thousands to take great photos. Great lens.

At first I wasn't sure what to expect from this lens. I transitioned to Sony from the Canon ecosystem, where I had invested thousands and thousands of dollars in bodies and Canon L glass. The sole G-Master lens I have (the 70-200mm) has totally rocked my world, but this lens almost seemed like a toy in comparison, and I was a bit hesitant regarding the image quality I could get out of this thing.
I can start right off by saying I have no regrets in picking up this lens. It is very sharp with minimal distortion at the edges. There is a little bit of chromatic abberation in the corners, but that is easily fixed in Lightroom.
When I zoom in as far as I can in Lightroom, the image pixellates before it blurs. This thing it tack sharp in the center. It does tend to soften a bit as you get to the edges. Wide open, it's still pretty sharp, but as with most lenses, it is sharpest when you stop down a bit to f/6.3 or f/8.
I also purchased the additional wide-angle and fish-eye adapters that fit on the end of this lens. Again, no regrets at all.
If Sony continues to make lenses of this quality, Canikon should not only be nervous about the innovative bodies coming out of the Sony camp, but also the glass they are producing.

Great lens and picture quality highly recommend it if you can't currently afford the 35mm zeiss. Not as good as my 55mm zeiss but this lens gives great dof and is pretty sharp for the money. Just wish they did it as a 25 or lower mm. I haven't tried the converters yet, hopefully that happens soon.

I have just invested in the Sony's mirrorless system, and this lens is a great complement to your standard kit zoom. It has great clarity, and the bokeh is wonderful. 28mm is my preferred focal length when travelling and walking around so this works great for me.

One of the top Sony FE lenses for sharpness. Smooth, silent and fast autofocus is great for stills and video. Some distortion, but this is corrected in camera for jpeg and in Lightroom for RAW. The focal length is very versatile and works for landscapes as well as many other things. You can also use Clear Image Zoom and APS-C Mode to make the lens even more versatile for video. At this price, the lens is one of the best values Sony offers.

In building my Sony arsenal, I wanted go with prime lenses to maximize portability and lens speed. This lens takes great picture, its operation is super-fast, and the small profile is a perfect complement to the already-small Sony A7Rii.

Bought this lens along with the Sony FE 50mm as the first two lenses to use with my Sony A7R III. This is a nice lens for the price; you'll get a nice, wide perspective, and with an F2 aperature, it'll be good in low light and gives nice bokeh. This won't be wide enough to get really tight interior shots but is a great first wide angle lens for the money especially when compared to Sony's 24MM F 1.4 GM. Would recommend

So the biggest pro of this lens is the price point. At $450 the F2 aperture is a great low light prime. Pairing this lens with the A7iii is a good combination. It focuses well for such an affordable lens. It’s not the greatest for wide angle shots. The corner to corner focus is a bit soft at F2 but it is a cheaper lens, for sharpness you’d have to invest in a zeiss or G master. If used well it’s a capable accessory. My rating really goes to how affordable it is compared to how well it works.

I have a A6000 and this was a nice option to have with the other primes I own. I have a 85mm f1.8, 50mm f1.8 and my only telephoto lens is my 18mm-105mm f4.0 - this is a great lens. Sharp wide open and a pleasure to shoot with. I highly recommend this lens.

I bought this lens because of the price and I wanted a wider lens. I now use this lens more than any other lens for video. I find the 28 mm to be a very versatile focal length and this particular one is nice and light, focuses quickly gets the job done.

This lens is a good compromise between a normal and wide focal length. Has a wide aperture so you can still get some shallow depth of field despite the wide angle. Overall a good value.

I purchased the lens to go with my FE 55mm as a nice lightweight prime set. I have many Canon lens that I use on my Sony A7Rii with a Metabones IV adapter but wanted some native primes in order to use eye focus. I like to take available light photos and the f2.0 aperture really helps. The corners are not as good as the FE 55mm but not too bad and much better than any of my legacy 28mm lens (Canon FD, Olympus OM, Konica and Takumar).

I have been very impressed with this lens. It's fast. Autofocus is excellent. I use it on my Sony A6000. Great weight. Overall, its fantastic and even though it's a fixed focal length prime lens, it stays on my camera >75% of the time.
