This lens right here... Man this is the best macro lens I have ever used. It takes absolutely breathtaking photos of small subjects. Beautiful bokeh, great colors. Auto focus is great, lens stabilization is perfect. It's so quiet for video recording. It has a great weight, and feel to it, it doesn't feel cheap. It's great for product photography, because the resolution is amazing. Photos are so sharp, ordinary printers can't produce the amount of fine detail the lens produces. This is indeed my favorite lens. Whether it is in macro shooting or portrait shoots, it handles it quickly (focus) and sharply. The build is solid, switching between manual and auto focus is stupid simple,.. it just makes me happy. Aso, it was purchased as an Open-Box item and i have had no issues of regrets.

It is better than I expected. It is not only a macro lens it is also good as a portrait lens and it’s so good with focusing in photography and videography. I love my new piece of equipment.

First time macro shooter using the A7ii. This lens makes you want to use it more and more. Great as portrait and everyday lens. Very sharp with excellent IQ. Build quality is top notch. Only negative thing to say is that it is fairly large and heavy, but its something to look past.

Excellent. Was a tossup between this lens and its primary Sigma competitor, and both are excellent. The Sony simply has more features, conveniences, and attention to detail like the included macro scaling printed on the lens barrel. First use was copying old photographs set up in a lightbox, and plan to do similar with slides as I build a custom lightbox where high resolution RAW files surpass scanning. The optical flatness of a macro lens is the desired tool vs the curvature of normal rectilinear lens. Waiting for the Sony authorized sale paid off, but wish Best Buy also participated in (or publicised the process) the Sony trade-in bonus that ran concurrent with the sale. I had a working Sigma 50 macro on Nikon mount that previously used with an adapter and would have traded in for the additional $150 bonus added to the $100 sale discount and could care less how much the trade value of the lens would have been.

This 90mm gem is a beautiful and sharp lens. There aren't really any options that are native Sony save for this and the much cheapter 50mm. But this is definitely the macro lens you want if you'd like to be a serious macro photographer. It's well built, is loaded with features, and most importantly has stunning image quality.

This lens is spectacular in nearly every way. I use this lens to take stunning pictures of cannabis plants and it captures an incredible amount of detail. It performs exceedingly well on my Sony A7R3 camera, and also performed great with my Sony A6500. Highly recommend this beauty for those looking to take their macro photography to the next level.

This is a great lens. Sharpness is excellent. AF might be slightly slower than some of the newer lenses but its a macro lens so you’re probably shooting manual focus. Fantastic lens

Really does it's job being a macro lens, since I take photos of jewelry which needs a focusing on small subjects.

I read a lot about this lens before purchasing. It was well worth it! This lens is crazy sharp! Some reviewers mentioned that the bokeh was not great, but I disagree. It's very creamy and smooth. As a macro lens at 90mm 2.8, it's good for portraits as well. I like the push/pull feature for manual or auto use, very convenient. It feels solid in the hands & secure. The distance scale is nice but I don't use it. The lens hood.makes this lens seem larger than it really is. The colors are stunning and contrasty. It's just the best macro lens I purchased so far. Sony did a superb job here.

This lens is ideally suited for macro photography, though some use it as a medium telephoto portrait lens as well. The lens is superbly crafted, with excellent attention to detail, smooth focus ring, easy to navigate manual controls, and so on. It is a bit heavy, however, and therefore this lens will feel awkward on a Sony A6xxx camera (for A7R2 users, however, the lens balances nicely, especially if you are using the battery grip). Optically, the lens performs flawlessly, though as others have noted, it can hunt for focus if you rely on AF in low light conditions. The bokeh in wide apertures is pleasing and creamy, providing warmth and color contrast in your compositions. This is an excellent lens and I recommend buying from Best Buy rather than other vendors such as Amazon.

Great lens for Macro and surprisingly portrait photos! Easy-to-use extra features on the lens makes getting those tough shots really easy. This lens is helping me move further in my career in photography.

This lens is beyond sharp! I’m amazed by the images I’ve been able to take with this beauty! Even the AF at closed distance it’s great! So many features to talk about but omg story short this lens can be use not only for macro, but also for portraits, food photography and so on.

I use it for portraits and macro photography. It is very sharp but not the fastest on focus. Don't get me wrong, it's still pretty fast. I love this lens because it's a multi purpose lens for me, portraits and macro shots. The price is a bit steep but it's well worth it. It is big and a bit bulky but I doesn't bother me at all. I have no issues to report on this lens. Two thumbs up.

This lens is paired with a Sony A7 IV and I have to say its the best lens I have ever had. The autofocus is faster than most macros but the portraits this thing takes are unreal. The macro stuff is fun and very easy to get right with the manual focus and the use of the clutch. This is an insane value for the money and I wish this had been the first lens I purchased.
