I owned Tamron 28-75 F2.8 before. But I struggled with the flare and a busy boke background with Tamron. After I switch to this SEL24-105 F4 G OSS, there is no flare and acceptable bokeh. People might concern about an aperture F4 compared to F2.8. But it is just a 1 stop (2.8 -> 3.2 -> 3.5 -> 4.0) and this lens F4 has a smoother bokeh than Tamron F2.8. Only I compromised a weight. But I'd say this lens is the maximum limit that I can bring to the outside. Overall, this lens has the best balance of price, quality, and weight as a zoom lens. Because Sony SEL2470GM is too heavy/expensive and Tamron is not good quality. I recommend if you need a standard zoom lens for any occasion. But if you have a specific, then go to a prime lens is the right path.

Simply wonderful lens. Covers most lengths while still producing sharp pictures and it's become the lens I use the most. It's versatile, capable and also is weather sealed! This lens is a great addition to my gear. If you are considering this lens, don't think about it and just get it. You won't regret it.

Been in of an all around lenses for my new Sony a7iv

I pair this lens with my Sony A7Rii. I like the versatility of the lens and the constant F4. This is my all around lens when I am doing street photography. All I can say is...It does the job. But dont expected an F2.8 GM results. But if you are creative and have ample light. You can achieve the F2.8 result. I highly recommend it.

A very versatile zoom lens. Great for outdoor events with plenty of light. The build quality feels very solid. It's a great lens for beginners and also those looking to cover many focal lengths without knowing in advance what lenses they will need. Good value and a nice addition to any starting kit.

Pick up this lens and you will notice the heft of the glass. Outstanding photos with ultra fast autofocus when combined with the A7c Focal length of 24-105 covers 85% of my needs. Wish is was a little wider at 15. Only downside would be the weight of this lens. Not easy to travel with as it's bulky and heavy.

Great Lens! Super versatile and very clean images.

I thought that 105 on the long end would not be much, but I was wrong. Having the programmable button reconfigured to eye focus helps me take great portraits. The manual and auto focus button is a great addition. This is great first lens for anybody entering into the alpha full frame systems.

Have been using these for birding photos. Works great when up close to the object.

I bought this lens because I was looking for a one lens solution; I wanted something that took great landscapes and portraits without having to swap. This lens is sharp corner to corner at both ends of the focal range and produces some high quality photos. I was originally scared of buying an F4 lens and not going 2.8, but even indoors with ambient light, I can take excellent portraits due to the IBIS + OSS on my Sony A7III. If you're only looking to buy one full frame lens, this is it!

With its 24mm setting, you can get great wide shots groups of people at a party or of landscape when outdoors. With the 105mm setting, you can zoom in for terrific close-up portraits or focus on birds, animals at fauna out in the wild. Auto focus is quick. Images are sharp.

For a full frame zoom lens toy really can’t beat this one. Unless it’s a G-master and then your talking $1000 more. Even though this lease is expensive it offers allot of flexibility when it comes to the different shots you can get.

I like this lens a lot. The kit lens for the Sony A7iii is seriously disappointing and this lens is exactly what you need to replace it. The range is great, the photos are sharp and bright. This lens works well with the Sony AF including excellent eye detection. My only problem is that AF action is a little slow. I think that keeps this lens from being usable in a commercial environment, but for a family shooter or other hobbyist, it’s perfect.

Use with my sony a7riii and this lense is crisp. Highly recomend

For a so-called kit lens it’s extremely sharp and versatile for all kinds of photography. This is my go-to travel lens and most of the time it’s the only lens I need.

Great lens, sharp clean video. Perfect for shooting basketball from baseline to baseline.

Good starter lense. It does really good when there is light but not so great when it gets dark. Zoom is really good and the quality of the lense feels good and heavy.

The quality of picture is different with these lens compared to third party lenses. The compatibility is great. Not too heavy, takes space. But worth the time, effort and money.

this lense is definitely worth it i do wish i got the 24-70 f2.8 gm mk 1 i do shoot a lot of lowlight but its very worth it it is awesome!
