Bought this for a vacation and I'm sure glad I had it. It stayed on my camera by day. I do wish it had 2.8 rather than 4.0 which limits my indoor photos. Not a big deal as I usually switch to a prime. Highly recommend. Great value.

Settled on 4, and here's why: Pros: Works Great, Makes Pictures Better, Constant aperture lets in more light and takes less time changing settings in manual, works on crop sensor and will still work on full frame, comes with a really sweet lens hood. THIS LENS WILL MAKE YOUR PICTURES BETTER. Cons: Weight. It's a pro level lens that has awesome glass inside and it's a full sensor compatible lens. That adds weight, which isn't for everyone. Currently using with an a6300, so the lens is significantly heavier than the camera. I hold the lens between shots rather than the camera because (1) it's heavier and (2) it's more expensive. Another con is the price, but I think the better quality picture you get will be worth it.

I've been quite impressed so far by the images it's captured. The range is good for travel photography, although in some situations I've needed a wider angle - but, overall, wouldn't want to lose the 105mm range which I found more helpful than what I would have gained at the other end.

Tested it and saw the sharpness and said wow. Focal length covers most of our needs. I also use a 16-35 f4. And, have a couple of 70-200mm 2.8's that are amazing.

Range is very useful, bokeh is good for f4 and tracking is quick & accurate. I picked mine up on sale and it was a great value at the sale price.

F4 with these new Sony sensors is plenty. I plan on using this lens to have almost every focal length covered at F4 with just three lenses. 16-35, 24-105 and then 100-300. Perfect set for anyone but a pro.

Nice zoom lens for my A7 iii

As expected, it is much heavier than the kit lens so I use this lens for parties and events and i use the kit lens for casual street photography (since its lighter). Its convenient having the G button. My Tamron F2.8 lense takes nicer photos but it sometimes has communications issue with the A7, so its safer sticking with a Sony lens for parties.
