I used to regret not getting the 12-24gm. But this lens is flawless. Shark any f stop, or zoom level. Clarity and colors it shows is superb. This lens barely comes off the camera. Fast autofocus too. It’s changed my photography.

Sony has proven yet again why their G Master lenses top the charts in terms of build and image quality. Absolutely love this lens for landscapes paired with my A7RII.

It offers a very wide angle of view and a superior 2.8 aperture so that it's great in low light situations. It is a pretty expensive lens, but the quality is there with little compromise.

Awesome but, Sigma is a little cost friendlier

Would get nothing but Sony lens if I had the money. But I returned and went with Sigma. OMG I can't tell the difference. Beside maybe the warmth of raw photos but I edit my photos so that is an easy fixt

You can use it for so many different shots. If you need a good bokeh background, definitely not the lens though.

However, I went with this lens bec I want to take my photography seriously. The quality of the pix are beautiful so I am content with my purchase. Great lens even though the price hurts a bit.

A Tale of Two Lenses

I Love the variety of the focal lengths but after the purchase I realized I’m more of a “Prime” guy. That restocking fee is Brutal. It takes up a huge amount of space in my bag, it’s very front heavy and for those reasons I had to return it. Went with the non native options and got a Sony 20mm, F1.8 and the Sony 50mm,f1.2, I am comfortable with these two focal lengths

Great quality, not a fan of the reverse zoom

The only issue I have with the lens is that it works opposite every other 16-35 lens I've used. By default, when the lens is in its smallest form factor it is 35mm. In order to get the wide angle 16mm focal length the lens extends. Since we're using the lens on a gimbal this makes things more challenging and potentially risks damage to the lens since more of the elements are exposed when the lens extends.
