Highly priced but you get what you pay for as the best lens on the market for my Sony a7iii.

The lens works great! This message is for Best Buy management! When you ship of a lens you can not ship it off with a different price on the box. I understand that I purchased this product as open box. The thing that really made me upset that when I got the product in the mail it had an open box stick of $1775 and when I bought it online they sold it to me for $2200, not cool!! When I called customer service they told me I have to take it to a store to see if they could something about it. They only thing is that I live 2 hrs away from the nearest bestbuy. I big inconvenience for me and my family especially during COVID. Best Buy please label your product carefully and don’t send a box to your customers with a different price especially when it’s lower. I’m up set because I feel they were trying to sell it for a lower price!! Won’t be buying gear there anymore!

Amazing lens, amazing glass. Great clarity, very responsive. I shoot kids sports right now (lacrosse, soccer and hockey) and this is great! Well worth the money. Its taking me a bit to get use to all of the amazing features.

Fast and precise at a distance! The photos come out crystal clear, you won’t be dissatisfied. The autofocus is insane on this lens and it has so much range that you can practically do anything on it!

I will try it with 2x teleconverter For wildlife As is it is great for portraits/birds which are closeby I ll send in mine to sony to get noisy aperature checked

Received the lens and didn’t realize until months later that something was wrong with focus ring. Now I’m having an issue with Sony honoring the Manufacturers warranty.

The Sony G Master 70-200mm f/2.8 is hands-down one of the best lenses I’ve ever used. As a professional photographer, I need gear that’s fast, sharp, and dependable—and this lens checks every box. First off, the image quality is stunning. It’s tack-sharp throughout the entire zoom range, even wide open at f/2.8. The creamy, soft bokeh gives portraits a beautiful, professional finish, and the color rendition is top-tier. The autofocus is blazing fast and incredibly accurate, even in low-light conditions or when tracking moving subjects. Whether I’m shooting sports, weddings, wildlife, or events, this lens keeps up without missing a beat. The Optical SteadyShot (OSS) is a lifesaver, especially at the longer end of the zoom. Handheld shots stay rock solid and crisp, which means less reliance on a monopod or tripod. Build quality is premium—solid, weather-sealed, and clearly made to endure the demands of serious fieldwork. Despite its size, it feels surprisingly well-balanced on my Sony body, and the included tripod collar is practical and well-designed. These other reviews are a joke from people who have no idea what this lens is. Nor are they even remotely serious photographers. This is a seriously good lens. It is fast to focus, certain, high contrast, sharp, good color saturation, great bokeh. In short, the very best lens of it's type I have ever used.

About 6 weeks ago, I bought this Sony 70-200mm F2.8 GM from Best Buy for a good deal, $800 cheaper than the GMII version. Attached to my Sony A9 and 7R4, I used this lens on my photography tour in Utah. This lens was useful for me to take action photos during my trip. The lens provides images with excellent clarity, sharpness and low distortion. I also liked its bokeh. Its focusing speed and accuracy are good, but not as good as my 24-70mm GMII. I also know it's a bit heavier than the 70-200mm F2.8 GMII.

This is a superb G Master lens. It is my go-to lens on so many occasions, portraits, landscape, and wildlife. At the time I purchased it, the lens was about $2500 because the 2nd generation had been recently released. I’ve experienced zero issues with focus breathing. Some complain of the weight, I’m 6’6” 350, it’s not an issue for me. The images are sharp with great color. The f2.8 produces really creamy portrait background blur. The bokeh is much sweeter than I imagined it would be . I definitely buy this again!

Excellent lens. I did alot of research prior and all the negatives I read about this lens were not true. At least for my copy. Image quality, focus, and speed where too notch and better than the competition. The only fault I have found in this lens is not its fault at all. But the weight. Hit the gym and youll be fine.

Amazing Lens!!! super sharp images and videos. Heavy but great for any production. I use it for car promotions and promotional videos. Great options with the stabilization modes.
