Camera performs well, especially the stabilization. Files at 100mbps is quite huge and associated memory cost is steep. If you want something small and hand held this is the way to go but if you want best possible image quality wait for the upgrade of the ax100.

This camcorder has great qualities for its price. First of all the balanced Optical SteadyShot system works excellent for shooting while walking or if you just don't have steady hands. You won't find any other camcorder that is 4k at this price that has such an excellent SteadyShot system. 4k videos are very clear and bright outdoors but the indoors and low light video shooting is not so perfect. There's gaussian effects in low light and it is just not that bright in low light conditions. In 4k 30p mode you have to keep your motions laterally very slow otherwise you will see significant motion blur when you watch it in review but as long as you keep the lateral motion meaning side to side or up and down slow it looks great. Another downside is it is advertised at having a 5.1 surround sound mic but they fail to tell you that the 5.1 surround sound only works when shooting 1080p resolution videotherefore they should not even mention it associated with the 4k video camcorder. Overall I would recommend this camera because of the balanced Optical SteadyShot and the price. It's not a professional series camera especially since all of the controls are located on the touch screen but is great for shooting family trips and not so professional video shots.

Purchased this camera for my business. We wanted something sturdy, relatively light weight, able to connect a tripod or monopod to, easy to use, ability to attach an external mic, and with various file formats. This does everything we wanted. We've had to shoot in bad weather - used an umbrella to protect us and the camera, but still kept shooting - and found that it performed perfectly through the moisture and humidity. There's no need to go into the pro's and con's as everyone else who reviewed it did that, and we agree with them. There are many YouTube videos on how to utilize all of the functions which was very helpful in learning the camera. It produces beautiful video, and can also take still photos.

This camcorder is awesome. Sleek, compact but not too small. The 4k looks stunning. Can zoom in from across the room and it still looks crystal clear. Takes great still shots, very easy to use. Worth it.

Camera has excellent picture quality and image stability. Camera size / weight is a little heavier than other lower performing models, but much better than similar performing models. No handshake visible in filmed images. 4k video usage has been limited due to video size and post processing power / time needs on PC. Have shot 98% in 1080P 60FPS which still yields excellent slow motion and zoom up on images. For direct viewing on TV, remote control would be a nice feature not included. MP4 instant video transfer to IPad works well, but is of much lower video quality than native HD images. Recommend taking the time / disk space to use original HD video for all editing/sharing.

I bought this camera for the sole purpose of live streaming. Initially I bought it because of it's capability to output different resolutions, especially at it's price point. However, after further review I have came to the conclusion that this camera is totally worth the money. The picture quality is great. I also used the CX440 with my streaming setup but there is NO comparison in picture quality. This camera compares to the higher broadcast cameras. The only drawback I can tell is that I use blackmagic switchers and they can only accept certain frame rates and this camera only outputs 60fps. No big deal if you get a decimator.

This camera is pretty incredible for the price. Shoots nice 4K video. Software is easy to navigate. Good still pics. Nightshot is decent although I'd recommend a better ir light if that's a consistent use. Mic isn't real good but that's no surprise. Balance optical steady shot is really nice! All in all for the price you can't beat it.

This camcorder is perfect for doing videos and even still pics love the quality and the ease of use. Didn't need to read any instructions it was pretty straight forward (user-friendly).

This is a great camera. It takes excellent video. 4k is ultra sharp. Expensive but worth it!

I have this camcorder for about a month now and it takes Crystal clear and beautiful videos and the steady shot eye is cool but creepy the way it moves. The battery life is a little short on it and it eats up memory on your memory card really quickly if you shoot in 4K. I would recommend a spare of each.

If you want to record in 4k this was a good choice for me. My only issue is that I now need a new computer for 4k editing. More ram, more processor and more space. Good Luk!

Absolutely love the simplicity and was happy with the outcome. Took lovely video, colors were good and the microphone worked perfectly. Overall, I am very pleased.

This product was real easy to navigate. Make sure you have the right memory card which is a 4k card. Takes a nice picture as well as video. The stabilization is good. Even got I wet accidently and it fired right back up. I'm glad I made this purchase. Now I have video for my kids so the can see their games when they get older.

It's super easy to handle, it's light weight and the quality of the video is absolutely amazing. I've taken videos on sunny days and on snowy days and it's just stunning video quality. Videos with less lighting are not great but I'm sure can be corrected with a flash or light attachment.
