This is a really great 4k video camera for a reasonable price. The audio isn't great though and there is a new version coming out.

Sony once again has put amazing power at your your finger tips with this camcorder! Larger flip out touch screen display as well a view finder for filming out side in bright day light! The 4K format gives you stunning, crisp video worthy of a professional photographer! In all this is a very nice device with to many features to list here. Best Buy web site has all the specs. So if you want to leave the fuzzy video behind and elevate to the sharp crisp 4k without breaking the bank, this is the camera for you!

We needed a product that is user friendly and took quality videos. Ths product is cost effective and met all the criteria.

We purchased this camera specifically to pair with the Elgato Cam Link 4k to live stream on Facebook and YouTube. It provides a clean HDMI output that allows for us to easily capture. The optical zoom is great for not needing to be close to the subject for video. We did have to work with the settings to optimize the video output but once we had everything set it worked like a charm.

I do professional video work. I needed a cheap, quickly-purchased second camcorder to capture continuous fixed shots at shows without the infamous stills camera 30-minute time limit. I was aware of the inability to set iris and shutter speeds manually at the same time and I didn't really need that ability in my secondary camcorder anyway. I soon discovered that FOCUS cannot be set manually with any other manual setting, either! That is a MAJOR problem for pro work because it is critical that focus, exposure, and white balance can all be locked. I found a workaround where you can use the "spot meter" and "spot focus" functions to set exposure and focus based on a point you touch, then you can adjust focus and/or exposure manually, and I was okay with this workaround. Then I realized something that was unredeemable: there is a LOT of yucky noise in shadows, even in shots with plenty of daylight. I have never seen a camera with so much noise in shadows at the lowest gain setting and I don't understand why it's like that. I looked up a side-by-side comparison of the AX33 and AX53 quality and noticed the same issue with the AX33. If you are okay with the lack of independent manual control (setting one thing to manual and then setting another to manual will reset the first thing to AUTO) and you want to get one of these, spend the extra cash on the AX53, or better yet, get a Panasonic VX870 which I already own and is around the same price but is far more useful (but doesn't have BOSS stabilization, the only negative I can think of).

A great product for beginners and easy to use. The quality of the video is great.

Am taking a Hawaii trip in March. Needed a camera where I didn't have to stand completely still to video. Best Buy associate told me all about this camera. I liked the size of it. Plus the features of this camera.

I haven't played with all the features yet but they don't look that difficult. I am using a 512 GB micro SD card but by a known company. I understand that not all companies are compatible with the Sony. It is small but using the strap and you have no problems. I bought a Sony double charger which works great. I also bought an extra battery. A very nice camcorder.

The camera is much ligther than previous models, given no hard disk. Very good quality of video and sound. So far I am very happy with the purchase.

I have had a lot of fun with this camera. It can make very nice video and images. As always, remember the manual settings. Auto focus is pretty good. Manual is always better as well as iris. I'm very happy with this purchase. I'm a professional photographer not videographer. I've used it at home, school gyms and at HS pools where the lighting is awful. Auto white balance and hi ISO noise is good. Focusing also very good. Best thing about is the image stabilization even Zoomed in all the way. Only thing keeping this from perfect review is battery life and I expected the 4K video to knock my socks off. It's very good just not knock socks off good. Get a spare battery and get genuine Sony battery. Learned that the hard way.

I have been using this camera to film instructional videos for mathematics and economics. I have yet to use it in more challenging environments, but the 1080p footage is very good. Since I don't own anything 4K I have yet to try that functionality. If you are looking for a SMALL device, this isn't your camera, but it sure seems to check all the performance boxes.

Absolutely effortless, quality HD footage. Easy to use and works great in any environment. Highly recommend.
