Works really well. I was able to record my youth department video with it. I heard the kid clearly and they were running, but the camera build-in was not shaky

I have used this camera for my first three hikes and it has been amazing. The video and mic quality is perfect for my needs. The zoom and stability function is superb. I especially enjoy the easy use of wireless function to send my videos to my phone. However, it is easier when you download the imaging edge mobile app for wireless video/photo transfers. I love the everything about my first camcorder!

We use this to live stream our church service. Very good picture even in low light conditions. Simple to use. We previously had a Canon that was much more expensive and this is a far superior picture quality.

Got this camera to record my son's soccer games. This has been a great camcorder. It gives great image quality and captures sound good as well. The stabilization feature really works good. The battery that came with it will last at least 2 hrs 30 min.

very powerful camera. The video quality is outstanding and the gymbal creates buttery smooth footage. Couldn't be happier with the performance. Optical zoom allows you to get in close to your subject even from far away. Great for...'bird watching'.

Have only had the chance to use it Christmas morning so far. But simple to use and very steady video. There are probably more options than we will ever use. But we wanted to buy a camera that didn't leave us wishing for more.

This camcorder was purchased to upgrade a church camcorder for doing services on a livestream. The low light ability of this sony is amazing. We were able to get rid of our extra stage lighting. I stream in 1080p and so I'm able to "zoom" digitally in OBS with different scenese and mimic having more than one camera. I shot a promo video with this camera and its quality is outstanding. The stabilization is great. The only down side is the mic. Even though it has a good onboard omni, it is still recommended to get a shotgun on the hot shoe or just record audio sperate from the video and match them up in post.

This camera is easy to set up not only for the casual user but for top professionals also. Lot's of features plus it has a manual zoom where you can adjust to your liking. I highly recommend this camera.

The Sony FDR-AX43 4K Handycam is a consumer level camera that is packed with features, easy to use right out of the box and shoots great video in 4K resolution. There are not a lot of buttons on this camera and the majority of the menu items are contained in the touch screen, which responds great and is clear, bright, and is a little difficult to read some of the smaller fonts on it. I have not found a way to increase the font size, so I had a little difficult reading some of the menu and icons. My eyesight is not the greatest with that so if you have no problems reading small fonts up close, you will probably be ok. Using this to shoot video has been a blast. It is easy to hold and is a tad bit heavy, but not too bad. I usually get some shaky video when I shoot, but this has a built in gimbal that helps to stabilize the image and I did some running around as I recorded and it greatly reduced the shakiness that I would normally see. The video was very impressive, and you hardly can notice the extra movement that I was had put this through. Auto focus works very well, and I had no issues with this at all. Optical zoom is 20 x and digital is 250x. Sony has included some shooting modes that make a few settings for you so you can easily just click and record. They are Movie mode, Photo, Time-lapse Capture, Smith SLW REC, (not sure what that is exactly), Golf Shot, and Hight Speed Rec. I did find that you must change the file format to use certain modes. I am concerned with low light situations and I found that it did not do that bad overall, but still for better video in low light, I would recommend having a light source to improve it. Battery life has been great so far with the included battery, I was able to record for 2hours and 20 minutes and still had some juice left. There are some things missing from this camera that I feel should be included for what it costs. There is not regular viewfinder (maybe I am old school) and I do miss having a night mode on this. I have an older camera that has both of these features, but maybe it is a sign of the times. I don’t think these are deal breakers though. A very cool feature of this is the ability to connect to a Wi-Fi connection and use a smart phone on the same Wi-Fi to control the camera. This is accomplished using the Imaging Edge Mobile app. It is easy to pair with the camera via NFC. Right now, functionality seems to be limited to downloading content to your phone/device, viewing what the camera sees, zooming in and out and pause and record. Initially I had success connecting my phone to the camera, but I did have some issues connecting again later. I think there might be some kinks to work out still, but I am sure it might just be user error on my part. Overall, this is a really good camera for taking 4K video, but if you want a few more features then spend a little more and get the AX53 model.

This camcorder is easy to use and great for my side business and my husband's every day job. The zoom feature is great, although a little touchy, and I love that it shoots in 4k.

It’s a camera that is easy to use. The touch screen was a nice added touch. We added accessories like sand bag yo tripod because its diminuitive size. We really enjoy it.

This is my second Camcorder from Sony as I broke my first one coz of my mistake after used for like 5-6 years. My personal experience in when to use Camcorder instead of your mobile phone is when you have to take video in low light condition (e.g. indoor) and you wanna play the videos in big TV (sizes of 65 inches or more) or projector screen.

What do you need a camcorder for? buy a phone with a good camera
