Editing software from Sony play memories will not convert files to record to DVDs only posting to social media. Will need additional software to convert files to burn DVDs. Great for playback on hdmi on tv and posting to social media, but if you need DVDs, be prepared to buy software

The can give my Sony FX-1 and FX-7 a run for its money. If DV tapes are going bye bye this camera for under $300.00 is a great buy for beginner or professional videographer.

Simple but good

You can always find effects and editing tools that are more effective in apps. I’m not remaking Avatar over here, and just filming things for fun and reference. The only thing I wish it could do is turn on and record without having to open the view screen. I’m not sure if other current camcorders do that still or not.

The screen is small but it is clear. I love how the camera seperates each recording instead of grouping them all into one date.
