It's a 1080p 60fps recorder with a nice lens, great sensor and processor. Auto setting is pretty spot on and the scene settings are pretty good too. You don't have full manual control of settings but that's realy not a deal breaker. It's a very great value point n shoot camcorder.

The can give my Sony FX-1 and FX-7 a run for its money. If DV tapes are going bye bye this camera for under $300.00 is a great buy for beginner or professional videographer.

You can always find effects and editing tools that are more effective in apps. I’m not remaking Avatar over here, and just filming things for fun and reference. The only thing I wish it could do is turn on and record without having to open the view screen. I’m not sure if other current camcorders do that still or not.
