Granted your phone can take pictures just as good however this camera is easy to hold and to work. Only caveat is it very light almost cheap feeling. Think my phone weighs more.

However, when you use high magnification, you need most definitely to have it on a tripod because the slightest bit of shake will take everything out of focus.
