Say it with me again, it is ONLY $240 and so there, "Rating: Excellent" for $240. I played with mine (stop it!) for about an hour and figured it out. Thank goodness I have a background in psychology because, this Sony is shy! You'll read bad reviews stating, "Color is washed out" and crap like that. Truth is, it comes setup out of the box at half-capability, that's true! Here, lemme show you... I right clicked on the movie file I imported very easily into Windows Photos and it stated 30fps and I could tell the camcorder wasn't giving me TRUE HD, and yes, the colors were boring. I found setting for XAVC S (true HD) and it said, if you choose me, you won't be able to take photos while taking movies!! I don't care, at all. BAM! Full HD and it's nice. I turned the filter on for vivid color (it's in the photo features and they work in video mode as well, got some weird name but, click and boom, all pretty color. Movies are better than with my Samsung S21 I had and distinctly better than the horror which is Google Pixel! However, the Pixel takes the best photos of all three. Again, $240. GREAT FOR: Vlogging, Walking and talking YouTube. Teaching videos. SUCKS FOR: Fast motion video, "stunning" quality, attaching an external mic. This is your near only choice at the money because Panasonic at twice the price sucks. Canon just says, "I ain't making nothing else under $1000" so...either buy the Canon or the Sony at a grand or learn to love this nice like champ at $240. If it's not what you need, don't try to pretend it will work and then rate it badly.

Great little camera for the price. I needed a camera to record soccer games. I use it with a tripod and the quality is fine for creating a highlight video that will be viewed online - if you're looking for higher quality video, spring for the 4K camera. Menus are intuitive enough once you get used to tiny toggle instead of touchscreen. I upload to my Mac Mini. Definitely buy an extra battery, ideally with a travel charger to use in the car. One battery is not quite enough for an entire soccer game. Feels flimsy compared to old-school Sony camcorders, but it's easy to use and gets the job done for a very reasonable price.

This is my first video camera. I use it solely for the creation of Soccer highlights for scouting purposes. The zoom is great. Even though I use it freehand, the image is not like watching the Blair Witch Project. Not sure if there is an image stabilization or I have a better than average steady-hand but it takes great video. Battery life is excellent. I get a full 90-minute game in on about 50% battery. It’s super light and the charger/USB function is pretty slick. I have no need for 4K, and I picked this up for $179 on a big BestBuy sale. Simply cannot beat it for twice the price. I bought a 32GB card and each game takes about 6-7GB in HD.

Great camera! It’s very easy to use, very clear, and extremely high quality. If ur looking for a nice camera that’s not to expensive then I would recommend this one.

bought it specifically to record my son's graduation for family who couldn't attend thanks to covid, it definitely got the job done, good visual and audio. the battery extended the entire ceremony making the extras i bought completely redundant.

***** Watched a YouTube video about purchasing different camcorders and although it's been available for years, have to say, it was 10x better than i was expecting. Simple, small, easy to use and will purchase another to keep in the car. I can't think of a camcorder that comes close to the quality of this Sony for the price. Don't buy one, buy two. Great for gifts. Phones are nice, but what happens when you get a call or Message? Using this to recapture my elderly mothers memories as we go through the albums. Hope to write a book about both my parents amazing lives, and how they were betrayed by their older children.

So far this camcorder has been good. I have used it for recording work processes in our manufacturing facilities and really like the video quality and the ease of downloading. Having the USB cable in the handle is great. You never lose it and never have to look for it. Using it for video has been very easy and it is very light and small so carrying it around is no issue. The battery lasts for between 3 and 4 hours so I wish that you could record while the camcorder was plugged in but you can't. Although it is a user issue (mine) I have had some problems taking photos. When you click the button, something flashes on the screen. I assumed it took the photo. (I was wrong). It will show you that it is capturing it when you take the photo. It also takes a long time. I didn't buy it for a camera so I don't fault it too much. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who wants good quality video from a small light camcorder.

I have had this camcorder for about a month now. I only used it for the video. I thought my videos were of good quality. Sometimes it took the camera a short time (a few extra seconds) to focus. But this didn't happen every time. That would be my only complaint. But once the camera found the focus, it took great videos! I know some people talked about the quality of the video. But this is not a 4k camcorder and you didn't pay 4k money. I really liked how lightweight the camcorder was and the size. The optical zoom worked great! And it easily fit in my camera bag along with my other camera equipment! I would recommend this product!

I was surprised at all the features of this camera based on it's price. The 60x zoom is no joke either. I can literally read licence plates from over a block away. The files it makes are really easy to upload to my YouTube page also.

For a long time I’ve trusted on Sony products and not disapointed with my new camcorder. It is small, compact and very light. the image quality is perfect for what I need with a great 60x zoom, perfect for the school concerts of the kids. I used to use a Nikkon camera to shoot videos, although good for pictures and ahort videos it was just about time to upgrade to a real Video recorder. Looking forward for the next school activity to use it!!!

I will give this product 5 stars, because I am amazed at all the things this little camcorder can do. The 60x zoom on this is crazy. It's one of the things that sold me on this camera; including the 1080x1920 quality. Very convenient way of turning the camera on and off (by just opening and closing the screen). When recording videos, they are very stable and far from shaky. The grip on the camera is really nice. Overall easy to get used to most of the features offered. Some I am still learning how to use in the settings. The zoom is also something I had to get used to. The one thing I noticed that I didn't like (at first) is that if it's really bright outside, the camera gives no contrast and color to the objects and in order to really see it, you would have to zoom in more for it to catch it. But then I didn't mind it, because this camera has a look to it like from the 90's, and that made it very cool to use.

Very small. Lightweight. Very good picture quality. Purchased as a gift for a not so tech savvy person. They were able to use it without difficulty. I like that video is stored on memory cards. 128 gb card holds several hours of high quality video. Pleased with the purchase.

I purchased this camera because my mom’s 70th birthday celebration was coming up and I didn’t want to just rely on my phone for recording video so I purchased this camera. Let me tell you it is so easy to use and the quality and sound is great! Also the price is not bad at all for the quality of this camera. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that wants a easy to use, lightweight, high quality and decently priced camera.

I got this for my 13 year old son and he really liked it. It seems durable and not too expensive. A good gift for kids to explore.

We haven't had a chance to use it a whole lot so far. My husband and I bought it to take with us on trips this summer to visit our families, but had to cancel our plans due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. We did take it hiking with us and shot some nice footage of Great Falls in VA, though. And some geese at a pond near our house. Nice picture quality and very easy to set up and use. Quite compact so it takes a bit of getting used to when using the buttons and steadying the camcorder. We bought a Sandisk Extreme 128GB Micro SDXC memory card to use with it. We decided to get the Extreme (gold colored) micro SDXC because it is a V30 and had the fastest video recording and playback speed. All in all a nice little compact camcorder. Nice picture quality and video playback. Definitely smaller and weighs a lot less than the camcorders my parents had when we were growing up in the 80's and 90's.

Easy to use, great video quality, light weight, easy to carry while traveling. Sony's reliability at its best.

This is an excellent camcorder for the price. The zoom is great and it takes good videos even at dusk. With the cord included, it's easy to instantly watch the video you just took by hooking it up to the TV.

For the price this camera is excellent for filming descent quality footage. It’s compact and light weight which is great for travel. The battery life is excellent except it’s internal and cannot be replaced. The night vision works well and the zoom is pretty amazing.
