This camcorder gets the job done but the HD video is just as good as an iPhone 6. No wonder why this unit was an open box sale. Camcorders are on the way out. However, if you don't want to tie up your phone and if you can get this at a cheap price like I did, it's worth it.

Wanted to replace my Sony which used mini-cassette tapes. The transfer to DVD was becoming almost impossible. The old Sony is a great easy to use camera - just becoming outdated. Went to BB to replace with newer model using chip. Would have been nice to have a salesperson who actually knew something about the model. Every question I asked he had to look up on his phone. Should have just waited but it was the holidays and needed to get the new one. One big disappointment is that it doesn't have a touch screen. Very hard to move the tiny button around to set up. Seems to take good quality movies. Feels very fragile compared to the old one.

I read alot of reviews, shopped around, and settled on the Sony PJ440 handycam. It is a great little camera, very easy to use and for the short time I have had it I have liked every feature. Would recommend highly

It does everything that a person like me needs it to do. My regular camera would not work well in low light and this does. Very easy to use. I almost didn't need to read the instructions. (But I did, just in case). This is my first camcorder and I absolutely love it.

Excellent; sharp videos; easy to operate; reliable

I needed an inexpensive camera to record the class I was teaching and it fit the bill. Charging is easy with no need to remove battery. Hook up to computer, HDMI or other devise is easy too. Great for the non professional who needs to film. I might have sprung for the next up to have the capability of an external microphone if purchasing again
