This is a great little camera up to this point. The picture and video quality is very good. My only complaint is the touchscreen menu system. The screen is small making selecting difficult. I think the screen selections could be better.

The image stability of this camera compares with the cameras that cost way more. This camera is so easy to use, light weight and provides crisp clean feedback. Id recommend to anyone looking for a camcorder to check this one out.

I wanted a mid-range priced camera to record high school and club soccer games. This camera is perfect for what I wanted. It is easy to use and the video quality is great.

I mostly record my kids sporting events and wanted something with 1080/60p capability. The one caveat I have with this camera is that it drops 1 second audio when creating a new file (every 10 mins during continuous recording) on the highest quality setting. It doesn't bother me since I use it for sporting events and don't use the recorded audio. I've tried various microSD cards and spoken with Sony support. Their suggestion was to drop the video recording quality a notch and it should work (it does, but that's a horrible response to a known problem.) I use it with a Sony wired remote and external monitor, all without a hitch.

For a non-expert, this is a great camera, that takes good, clear video. I use it for family videos, including fast-action sports. The lens captures a wide area and saving videos is quick and easy.

Sony's Handycam is a throwback to pre-cellphone days when video capture was not as ubiquitous as pulling your phone out of your pocket. But to the extent you need a camcorder (and there is a limited use case for them) the Sony is pretty good. Its well built, dependable and allows you to get very nice results. The only downside is the complexity of the software. All of it from the firmware and software on-board to the Playmemories software for managing your videos are just overly complicated and a pain to use. Its 2016. Sony ought to be doing better. Unnecessary complexity is a significant achilles heal on an otherwise excellent product, albeit a technology that appears to be going the way of the doo-doo.

Purchased camera to review basketball games. Simple to use and love that I am able to play back on my smart tv. One thing I wish there was a flash built in.

I've used to record several youth sporting events so far and it works great for that. It is small, has good features, and battery last for full games. It is easy to share recordings afterwards.

I haven't owned a camcorder since 2001, I needed one that could be controlled from my phone and that is wifi and livestream capable. This was the best one I found and user friendly.
