Good Camcorder But Disappointed

My son had a very important school program and I wanted to get the best quality film. Unfortunately, the camcorder was set up at a lower quality level. Instead of the file format being set at XAVC S HD, it was set at just AVCHD. The Frame rate was set at 30p instead of 60p. Why would Sony do that? Have it set up as what is advertised and if I want to lower the settings to save space then I WILL DO IT. So I buy a camcorder expecting it to give me the quality as advertised and it is set at half that. In turn, I have a low quality recording of an event that cannot be duplicated. Disappointed is nowhere near how I feel. So my advice is that you check the settings before you use the camcorder so you get the quality you expect when you bought in the first place. Now to decide whether or not I am going to keep it because I have such a bad taste in my mouth!
