I bought this Action cam to take on my family vacation to Table Rock Lake. I have used it multiple times for Time-Lapse recording and it has worked great. we also used it at the pool and kayaking with the case on and did not have any trouble with picture quality or degradation. Am looking forward to using it in Alaska, I hope it's Bear proof.

The sony hdr as50 is great video pic quality but the con is the sound sucks when in the water proof case I would rather suggest the step up models if you want better sound quality but if you don't care about sound quality then go for the sony as50 and another con is there is no microphone hook up the other pro is it is really easy to use and the main pro is it delivers a great pic/video quality

This camera is a great alternative to a GoPro. However, I notice that you can't really changed it other than fish eye and wide. I just wanted Regular and it doesn't offer that option. The wifi option is a nice and the stereo recording is great!

Awesome camera for the price. So easy to use. My kids love it.

Camera was beyond my expectation for quality. I was not expecting as good of footage it produced. My favorite feature is probably being able to use your cellphone as a display screen and remote to control all other features. Only downfall was little to no audio while in the waterproof case which is expected.

Love this camera! Easy time lapse photography, superb slow motion, and rugged weatherproof action shots. Sony has made several improvements from the AS15 in their AS50. Flat housing lens for better underwater shots, improved control location, and tripod mount on the camera itself(not just the housing) that enables longer time lapse shooting while USB powered. I'm saving up to buy another!

For an entry level Go-Pro style camera, this little guy gets the job done. Unless you are an advanced video expert, believe you'll find all the features you need and more for about half the price! The hardest part was learning the myriad features reading the on-line (downloadable and thankfully searchable) user guide.

I bought this for a cruise we took and wanted to take underwater video and pictures. The waterproof case that comes with this camera did great job and we were able to take all of the photos and videos we wanted without issue. The video quality on this camera is excellent and action shots looked great. The only downsides are that there is no way to record sound in your videos with the waterproof case on, and the quality of photos could be slightly better. For the money, this was perfect.

Much easier to use than the previous versions. Also, better features.

This camera is great to get acclimated to these types of cameras. The price point is excellent and just enough features to make decent projects.

Overall has really good quality, however, my only complaint would have to be that the sound is at a minimum. I understand the reason for that being its in a underwater case it's not the product itself fault, still good camera.

This is a great little camera. Will it ever be used in Hollywood - no. Is it great to use at a theme park or even to do simple vlog, sure. The downside is that it cannot be used in wet environments without the shell. I gave it to my child in the waterproof case, and she was disappointed that it never got any sound when it was in the shell case. Lesson learned.

This camera takes fantastic pictures and is clear/crisp. With the attachment it works great on my motorcycle and doesn't have a lot of movement to ruin the picture! It could be a little more user friendly but for the price and quality it is great!

This is a great hd action camara but the low budget. Great deal too.

This camera comes with an underwater case. That is a great value right there. The buttons are actually usable through the case as well, better than the previous version I had. I used 2 different brand of cameras on a recent scuba dive down to 68 ft and this Sony had the better vivid color without a light. Don't forget to choose the underwater scene selection. The menu is ICON heavy and reading the instructions does help, unlike other versions where the menu spells everything out, but I managed so you can to.

Does slow mo very well. One of the main reasons why I bought this instead of another GoPro.

Easy to use. Great battery life. I used it often during my vacation. My kids and I share some great moments together with this device and the high definition quality was a great plus. I highly recommend this products to anyone looking for an entry level camera and camcorder.

awesome little camera that matches up to par with the go pro hero 4. runs smooth and audio quality is great, will be buying another one !
