Its just not worth it when the product stops working Out of the Blue to no avail Right when the 1 Year Warranty is up. Contacted Sont Directly with it being Their Product to help fixes the issues that occured. But they dont do anything but ask question after question with no solution. And sending you to someone to help reslove the matter. So its nice to have. Like i stated. Nice sound quality, never had connection issues whether wired, Bluetooth, or with the a Subwoofer thats sold separately. Just not worth the buy if the product doesnt last like it should.

Movie theater movie theater like quality. The bass level is very nice, only a step down from shaking your bed which I don't need, but plenty powerful. Can feel the air blowing through the side vents where I assume the subwoofers are. Kratos from God of War has a powerful clear roar, Dr Fate's booming voice in Black Adam stunned me. I wasn't sure about spending this much but it was worth it.

Sounds pretty good for 1 piece unit, with reasonable bass w/o sub. Atmos works well without satellites. Bad: big, make sure you have enough room on TV console. Sub and satellites add $650. Compared with Sonos Arc before purchase and found sound almost as good. No need for multiple room and liked the Bluetooth option (have Bluetooth turntable) Sonos adds $1000 for sub and satellites. Note: purchased open box at significant discount. Would be 3&1/2 if full priced MSRP.

Liked this soundbar, but i returned it for…

So, i returned the A5000 for the A7000… but only because i found a killer open box deal on it. If it werent for the open box deal id still be a happy and proud owner of the A5000

Disappointed with Sony to mislead it’s loyal fans

So far the only good thing was that the sound is louder. Instead of wowing me, this Soundbar has only disappointed me. All I have noticed are the issues after owning for less than 24 hours: 1. Without the rear speakers, the soundfield is just a marketing gimmick similar to how they did with Z9F. I had purchased it 2 years back and then returned as the vertical soundfield wasn’t effective. 2. The up firing speakers sounded great when the soundfield optimization was being tested. For Netflix movies that have awesome Atmos effects, the sound was barely noticeable to be vertical. 3. The Sounbar alone has literally no bass. Don’t understand how Sony could even advertise it or sell it as a standalone Soundbar. 4. Connecting with A80j Tv which is supposedly one of the ideal model for this Soundbar has so many issues at startup. The TV cannot detect the soundbar because the soundbar takes a lot of time to start. Once it starts manual switching to it isn’t possible either as somehow the TV cannot connect to it anymore. This happens if the TV controls the soundbar which is the default feature and a selling point of using 1 remote and Sony products as TV and Soundbar. 5. The connection to the subwoofer that I purchased isn’t stable unless I set to give priority to connection over sound quality. This is even when the subwoofer was 2 feet from the bar. 6. Turning on voice mode does make the dialog clearer but other sounds are washed away. 7. Music sounds horrible even on YouTube. I know that I have the knowledge of a good Soundbar as I have a JBL 9.1 which is now 2 years old but is way better than this one.

Depending on the combination of the setting of SOUND FIELD and input signal, surround sound processing may not work effectively. The surround effect may be subtle, depending on the program or disc. To play multi-channel audio, check the digital audio output setting on the device connected to the speaker system. For details, refer to the operating instructions of the connected device.
Additionally, you can adjust the sound settings of the soundbar to tailor-fit the sound quality to your needs. You may refer to this link for more information (refer to "Adjusting the Sound and Volume Quality"):

It will cut out for a couple seconds every 15 min or so which is pretty annoying during movies. It also switches itself from tv to hdmi frequently. Id love it if it werent for those isuues

The sound is great. The only problem I have is with the volume control on the remotes. It isn't smooth, it's more of a jerky motion. It does this with either the Sony remote or the DirectV remote.

Game changing soundbar

The first movie I watched with this sound bar was Transformers and WOW! Was I blown away by the soundstage this soundbar has! I was so blown away I went and bought the rear speakers to go with it! Super excited to watch transformers again! I have it paired with my A90j Sony OLED and it’s like there were meant for each other!

I wanted this specifically so I can utilize the center channel option with the TV. IT sounds great. So far I added the wireless sub and will likely add the rear speakers in the near future. I do have the Samsung 850A system in my other living area. For the same price that did come with the rear speakers and sub. I don't know that the sound bar alone is better than that entire set. However, I did manage to get this on sale and think it was well worth it.
