I want to start out by saying this I think with any soundbar you need to get the sub and rears. That's what I am basing my review on and I have the sw5 and sr5s Setup Setting this thing up was way easier than I expected. Since the speakers and sub are wireless I expected having to go through a pairing process. There is a pairing process for if something doesn't work, but everything paired quickly with no issue just by turning it on. There are of course settings you have to modify to get the best sound possible, but this depends on the devices and how they are connected. This is par for the course with any audio device. If you have a Sony TV things are a little more streamlined. Sound quality I kinda expected more for the price, but it could be my room. I feel that dialogue can be kinda tinny but my setup forces me to have the soundbar extremely close to the wall on the left side. This thing has great bass with the sw5 sub. The sr5s rears also have up firing speakers in them and add more than I expected them to. When it comes to Atmos, I haven't heard a great setup to compare to. This is where I expected more. I played a few blurays like the Halloween reboots, Black Hawk Down, Avatar 2. They all had really immersive sound. Black Hawk Down was by far the best. It sounded like it was on a 3d soundscape, but I can't exactly say I can hear stuff above me. My expectations also might be too high. If you want true Atmos, nothing is going to beat having ceiling mounted speakers instead of trying to bounce sound off the ceiling. Aesthetic The soundbar and add-ons all look very premium. I'd expect nothing less from Sony. I do have two moderate complaints. Neither the 5.1 model or the 7.1 model will fit between a Sony XR A90J 55. The 7.1 bar is especially massive. The sub and rears are also way larger than they appear in photos. (To my perception). For whatever reason there's a shiny bit on top of the bar that reflects the TV if it's directly underneath it and down below your viewing height. Overall it's a great setup. I didn't want to spend more than what I did otherwise I would have just gotten a receiver and speakers. If budget isn't an issue don't get this. Don't get any soundbar in that case. Otherwise this is probably one of the best soundbar setups out there. It's just not a good value for how expensive it is in my opinion.

I was skeptical about hearing surround sound with just a Soundbar because I had a dedicated 5.1 Av system. After I understood this thing I can tell you that it truly delivers surround sound by bouncing sound from the walls. Perfect clarity if you have the settings right. Anyway, here it goes. Superb build quality. It weighs almost 25 pounds. It is big. Nice touch of glass on top. Has touch capacitive buttons for power and sound levels on the glass. Upfiring speakers wrapped in cloth on top. Extremely clear audio. Actually has bass from the built in subwoofers. The bass will not shake the house, but for a discrete package it really delivers a punch. It has a built in menu system that you access from the TV menu. You can do all the setup, adjustments, and updates through the menu without the need for more stupid phone apps. Decodes every type of audio on the market from classic dolby, dts, to the new atmos and dts-x. Has two 2.1 hdmi inputs with no delay. Has optical input and analog input for Older formats. Has Bluetooth streaming if you need it. Comes with a decent remote with easy to use button navigation. Has an led in the front for audio settings and input selection. Comes with steel wall mount brackets, hdmi earc cable, and 3.5mm cable for Sony s-center TV, which I used. Can automate the room calibration and allows for manual adjustment as well. Surrounds the room with sound and bass. For best surround you need to feed it an atmos or dts-x signal. When you do this there will be surround from the ceiling as well and it actually rivaled or surpassed my older dedicated 5.1 system. If you pair this up with a new bravia TV (in my case it is an x95j) all the functions can be controlled through the TV remote either through the settings menu on the TV menu or the built in menu for the soundbar when you switch to its input. Now for some negatives. There is a risk of the system sounding muffled due to the AE (audio enhancement) feature. When I first set this up the center channel sounded muffled. It was because I had this AE enabled. This is only for stereo sound and it tries to make it surround sound but it creates muffled audio. Ensure your disc player or streaming app service is outputting dolby atmos or dts-x. This may require paying more for the service otherwise it will just output in dolby surround. Don't get me wrong, the soundbar cannot compete toe to toe with a dedicated surround setup UNLESSS you feed it atmos or dts-x. Without atmos or dts-x the Soundbar alone does a serviceable job at surround sound. Your room and ceiling layout also play an important role. You don't want the Soundbar near a left or right side wall. I watched the new matrix that was streamed with Dolby atmos and during some gun battle scenes the bullets sounded like they were flying all around me and behind me, despite my couch is up against a wall. There was a sprinkler scene where water was released from the ceiling to combat fire, and I almost looked up because the audio was bounced to the ceiling and back down at me from the Upfiring drivers. Another negative is that I would like to see what audio source the Soundbar is detecting when it starts to play an audio source that is different than before instead of me pressing the info button on the remote for it to display. I also would like to see the Sony bravia TV also display what audio source the Soundbar is detecting when I press info button on the TV remote as well. The subwoofers, at max setting, can sound muffled as they are trying too hard based on what content you are viewing. There is no equalizer for it, so don't expect to customize things because you are stuck with Sony presets for cinema, standard, and music. There are way too many sound options for this thing but some audiophiles ma find that entertaining.

Sony sound bar 7.2. Is better than any Bose system I have ever had. I added this and a 300W subwoofer and two rear speakers. Paired with my new Sony 77 in OLED. The new entertainment system is flawless in starting up and shutting down with one button on the remote!! So awesome in quality and surround Sound audio!

One of the nicer sounding soundbars that I've heard, coupled with the 300w subwoofer. It's not as nice sounding as floor speakers but if your looking to save space, this is a great alternative. I'm not a big fan of the mesh over the top speakers. Just so you're aware, the top atmos speakers will only work when playing atmos sound content. It is a little pricey for what you get. I'd wait for it to go on sale.

I bought this sound bar along with a Sony 77" A80J tv. I also got the Sony SA-SW5 subwoofer. Now, don't get me wrong for only 4 stars. This sounds very good, especially when using Dolby ATMOS. But this is replacing a set of very good floor speakers and amp that sounded great. But my wife thought things looked too cluttered so she agreed to let me get the top of the line sound bar if I got rid of my old set up. Happy wife, happy life? I see Sony is upgrading their rear speakers so I am going to wait until the new ones are available. Pairing this sound bar to my Sony tv was super easy. And I have the center tv speaker option so that my tv's speakers are the center speaker in the set up. And with the subwoofer, I can't complain about the sound quality. If you are going to wall mount it like I did, it will take a little doing. I had the Geek Squad come and wall mount the tv, and was going to have them wall mount the sound bar, also. But after putting up the tv, they said they weren't going to be able to mount the sound bar because of the odd bracket placement on the sound bar in relation to my wall studs. The spacing for the brackets on the sound bar is 30 1/2 inches. Well, since 99% of all wall studs are somewhere in the 12", 16" or 24" spacing, they were only going to be able to attach one bracket to a stud. They tried to use a drywall anchor for the other end, but she thought the drywall wasn't going to be able to handle the vibration. So, after they left, I went down to Lowes and bought a metal bar (steel, not aluminum) a little bit shorter than the sound bar, and attached the metal bar to the wall studs and then attached the sound bar to the metal bar. Make sure the metal bar is thick enough to make threads. ( Mine was 3/16th" I believe) Of course, if you're going to set it on a table, no worries.

This thing is a beast! I know these bars are very expensive, but they’re very well worth it. Like I’m not even running Dolby atmos I’m running Dolby Digital 5.1 and it’s still freaking amazing.! The sound is very, very nice gets plenty loud enough. The dialogue is very clear. You definitely get a good surround sound. I bought the 300 W Subwoofer and the rear speakers as well. The rear speakers add to the dimension, but they could be a little louder. I have them cranked all the way up. The subwoofer is absolutely amazing. This was a major upgrade from my old Sony CT 290. All the components work really good they all connect to each other as soon as you turn the TV on, you can also adjust the distance of the speakers to where you’re sitting. There are only a few cons with this system. I find the TV takes a little longer to load up with my Apple TV. It doesn’t always switch to the external audio system. Sometimes I have to do it manually that’s a problem that Sony still needs to fix. I don’t run HDMI into the sound bar and then use the e arc. I go from Apple TV to HDMI one port, then from the arc to the sound bar. My TV is a 2018 model and it doesn’t have the Earc port. I don’t think I can get through Dolby Atmos, Doesn’t matter I’m blown away by DolbyV. 5.1 digital.

The Sony sound bar is a bit big coming in slightly longer than my 55” tv. Maybe about 2” on ether side. Best Buy did offer a savings for bundling products so that did influence my initial purchase as I wanted to take advantage of that and for having integration for my Sony Bravia xr95. The sound is very clear and crisp and can hear the different sounds nicely. I paired it with the 300watt sub and rear surround speaker which really fills the room with programs or movies that support the Dolby Atmos surround. Even when watching tv shows that are mainly just voice it is a major upgrade compared to tv stock speakers. It sets a nice sound stage coming from the view of the tv. Sometimes it feels as if I’m in the room with them in the shows I watch as it sounds so realistic. If have the money to spend, it’s definitely worth a good listening to to help you decide if it’s right for you. With buying tv, $400 was taken off soundbar price and $200 off the 300 watt Sony sub.

Works great with my Sony 65 A95L. A bit expensive, the Connection and compatibility are as great as expected. The only thing I would change is the reflective top on the soundbar. If put in front of the tv it reflects whats on the scree and can be distracting if you somehow sit even or above the bar. Only down side is I have a JBL sub and it does not recognize it so may be only able to connect to sony subs not sure.

This is my first real soundbar and I can’t wait to hear it!! I heard the demo in a BestBuy store so i know this baby is flat out loud! I also purchased the SA-SW5 300 watt subwoofer and the rear surround speakers!

Omg…. Phenomenal sound and incredibly easy to setup. Was needing a better quality of sound that my TV just couldn’t provide…. This was an awesome choice…. Great Sound

This is a very good soundbar, it is very easy to use and it lets you know when it is on and the sound is very good.

This soundbar is my pride and joy, I always find some delight in hearing some new sound I’ve never heard from every direction. The full home theatre setup with the sw5 and rs5’s is mind blowing to me.

I’m a Sony fan boy and typically trust their products for reliability and quality. This A-7000 is no exception! Paired with the optional rear speakers and subwoofer, it really turns my home into an immersive theater vibe! Highly recommend if you have the budget for it!

This is an excellent soundbar especially if paired with the matching subwoofer. I bought both at the time i purchase my Sony OLED TV. The soundbar was installed first and sounded good, but when the subwoofer came a few days later the system came alive.

All the info you need to know is that my neighbor call the police on me cause of it. I also recommend you buy an Apple TV with it cause the fire stick or the fire cube will not do the sound justice. Trust cause I tried everything. You’ll thank me later

This is a great soundbar. Very clear sound and does a good job of creating surround sound. My only complaint is that you really only get the surround effect when listening at high volumes.

Absolutely amazing. I would say just get it on sale but it’s the best sound bar I have ever used. Would be nice to be able to take off the grill but it is gorgeous regardless!
