We were looking for a cinema experience at home for a while but didn't want running cables or side or rear speakers and this one works very well, the Dolby Atmos feature allows us to have full surround sound having only the soundbar and the subwoofer for extra bass. Very easy to setup and plenty of features, it also looks very nice.

It has all the highs and lows that are supposed to be there. Alas, the "Geek Squad" did not install the Sony Soundbar correctly. When the Sony Soundbar is correctly installed, the sound will be breathtaking and amazing.

For those who comment that the sound is low, this has to do with the sound for a given video etc. For instance, select videos on netflix (only found 2) have muted sound; this has to do with the encoding of the video, not an issue with the soundbar. This was a fantastic investment which we enjoy immensely!

Returned. Glitchy, expensive, underwhelming audio.

Overpriced. I returned this for the Samsung Q990b and saved SEVEN HUNDRED dollars. The Samsung sounds like it costs 3 times the cost of the Sony 2. Weak surround sound. 3. poor music quality. 4. persistent connection problems. I had to reset the bar/tv multiple times for it to recognize inputs. 5. audio was consistently out of sync. I could not remedy this. Despite adjusting it on the TV and soundbar. 6. The reflective top of the soundbar interferes with the TV picture.

Posted .Hi herbnhero, We are sorry to hear that the HTA7000 along with the SASW5 and SARS3S did not meet your expectations and had to return the unit. This is usually not the case with our premium products.
Depending on the input signal and the sound mode setting, surround sound processing may not work effectively. The surround effect may be subtle, depending on the program or disc.
To play multi-channel audio, check the digital audio output setting on the device connected to the speaker system.
We hope that you consider Sony again in your future purchases.

Sony HT-A7000

Need to purchase a subwoofer as the bass is not very strong on the soundbar. If you are looking to upgrade your tv sound, this is perfect for that. If you want a full sounding room, consider purchasing the subwoofer and rear wireless speakers.

The RF channel setting can minimize interference and audio drops by turning the setting to ON.

Sony - 7.1 2 Channel Soundbar with Dolby Atmos

I did not want to invest in separate processors and amps and the messy wiring that involves a full home theater set-up. I also purchased the matching 300W subwoofer and the rear satellites. The sound experience is awesome. I watch 4K movies with Dolby ATMOS via the Firestick with great results. Set up was extremely fast and easy. If you can afford it and don't want to invest in a traditional home theater setup, this is the way to go.

With regular TV shows it is fine but again I do not have rear speakers for it as yet so I am sure it will be so much better. I purchased a new Sony TV, soundbar and subwoofer. Previously, I used the TV speakers and had trouble hearing during shows with the furnace/AC running.
