I returned and bought the Sony x90j tv with the 300 watt sub and 3s surrounds. the surrounds are fantastic with plenty of volume. The HT A7000 sound bar is very expensive but you get what you pay for. this sound bar is well worth the price. If I could rate it higher I would.

I live in apartments and when on full blast I can hear it from outside being at like 30 ft away and theres no distortion even on the most bass boosted songs I've played, super clear!

This is an ideal unit for an apartment, where without the subwoofer the bass won't be too much for your apartment and for your neighbors. Great sound that will deliver a quality level of audio for films and music. If this is your starter, then I highly recomend it. If you are used to the performance of a full-blown surround sound with physical channels, then you will probably want to get the subwoofer and additional speakers off the get-go, or shortly after you buy the unit. This soundbar integrates very well with new Sony TVs such as the X93L and the A80L, where the experience is truly seamless. I would recommend this to a friend, at the very least as an option that will put a smile on their face.

Good for a small-medium room

Got me hook, line and sinker. But once i got it, it was "ok" at first. Then i had to do some tweaking then it sounded good. But a soundbar is a soundbar. It could not do the total 360 sound thing. I did hear it better than other soundbars and appreciated it but i still needed more surround/rear sounds. When i purchased the SONY RS5 rear surround speakers then WOW - the whole unit came alive and sounded great. Admittedly i wanted more now so i bought the SONY HT-A9 and returned the A7000. Don't get me wrong, the A7000 is good. But you need the rear speakers as well. So if you're paying $1400 for this soundbar and $600 for the rear speakers that totals $2000! The SONY HT-A9 is $1800. So it's a no-brainer then to buy the HT-A9 – plus the sound is like 75% better.

If you own a Sony TV with a S-center capability, the Sony HT-A7000 is for you. This is a Master audio quality sound system. When listening to audio that is Master quality or Hi-Fi on the Sony HT-A7000, your mind will bend. Master quality is 24-bit, 192 kHz which is your sweet spot. Hi-Fi outputs at 16-bit, 44.1 kHz. This is a very close match to master quality. The HT-A7000 when paired with the Sony SA-RS5 rears and the Sony SA-SW5 sub is a Audiofiles dream come true. Your Hi-Fi aka Suppersonic audio experience will be unmatched at this price range. The system performs at a 7/10 performance level with sound sources less then Hi-Fi 16-bit, 44.1 kHz Audio. The upscaling does sound very good, just not studio quality. But still better than the rest.

It also added 2 HDMI 2.1 to my input choices, so I Used one for my Apple TV+ 4K and one for my Panasonic UB820 Blu-Ray player. The picture on my Sony XR77A80J oled was elevated to a life like picture with beautiful deep contrast and vivid colors. Installation was easy and calibrating the soundfield and room acoustics was easily performed by the Sony soundbar. My first experience was a clip from the Spiderman movie and it blew me away. I am smiling and feeling amazed at how well it performed. This is a great addition for anyones home theater. It Will Make You Smile and Enjoy !

The sound is immersive and the dolby atmos effect makes a huge difference in watching movies. Make sure to get good quality high speed HDMI cables, one comes in the box. I love how you get 2 hdmi inputs unlike most soundbars so it feels more futureproof. Very easy setup, now I just have to save up for the subwoofer!

Has issues, even with a newer sony oled tv

I do keep having problems of it keeps disconnecting from my sony tv and playing sound from the tv speakers instead of the sounbar. Another problem is it stops me from using my tv remote to adjust the volume. Have called 3 times to sony and they keep having me reset it. I don't want to have to keep doing this every week. They still can't figure why i can't use my tv remote to control the sound. The Bravia sync is on so they don't why it's not working.

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing audio cut-off issues with the HTA7000. We'd love to troubleshoot the issue and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue.
Unplug the Soundbar power cord and plug it back in
1. Turn off the soundbar.
2. Unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
3. After one minute, replug the power cable back to the wall outlet.
4. Turn on the soundbar.
Verify if this resolves the issue.
- Disconnect the HDMI cable or the optical digital cable and then reconnect it
- Disconnect the cable from the soundbar and playback device and then reconnect the cable.
If the issue is resolved, the issue may have been caused by a faulty connection with the cable.
- If there is a device nearby that generates electromagnetic waves, such as a wireless LAN or a microwave oven in use, locate the system apart from it.
- If there is an obstacle between the bar speaker and the subwoofer, move or remove it.
- Do not cover the top of the bar speaker with metal objects such as TV frame, etc. Wireless functions may become unstable.
- Locate the bar speaker and the subwoofer as close as possible

My wife is ecstatic with the amount of floor space reclaimed from removal of equipment and all the wires. Sound is awesome! We have the wireless sub and rear speakers as well. I also purchased the sw5 and sa rs3 speakers. I am coming from a Sony HT -S350 soundbar. I am loving this soundbar. The reason I am using this sound bar is because I also have A80J TV and I loving the integration between the two (especially the s center channel). The sound is amazing and brings to life the movie watching experience. The Atmos effect are not the greatest but I also have 9-foot ceiling and open concept living room. I can still hear them but not has noticeable as it should. TIPS: Turn off the DRC right away for maximum enjoyment. If your audio is cutting out in the rear speakers run the sound field optimization. Make sure that no other RF signals are getting the way like router or other wireless controllers. Final thoughts: Great soundbar, loving the sound. However; the price for the complete package is still pretty high compared to the competition. The whole package should retail at $1,799 at most. Also note there are new rear SA-RS5 speakers coming out in spring 2022. These speakers will elevate this soundbar to next level since they spatial surround speakers form the HT-9A.

I upgraded from the 34” Vizio Atoms setup from a year ago and its already so much better. No disconnect issues like the Vizio had. Works amazing with my TV and PS5. Bass is fine for a small apartment. If you need more you can always get one of the standalone sub they have. I do plan on upgrading to the rear speakers.

I would definitely recommend getting the subwoofer and the back speakers for the total package. But i understand if your not willing to pay over 2,000 dollars for the sound set up so just having the soumd bar by it self is just fine.
