    Disappointed. Not as loud as my previous Samsung sound bar and the bass is basically half of my old one.

      Hi there, we are really sorry if the sound quality of our HT-Z9F did not meet your expectations. This is definitely not the experience we wanted you to have on our product. Some of this issue happened if the soundbar is not setup correctly. The HT-Z9F features customizable speaker settings where you can set the speaker distance from 0 ft to 33 ft for much richer sound quality. You can raise the level of the soundbar and subwoofer an additional 6 dB in the user interface menu. This will allow you to fully experience the rumbling lows during explosions of a movie, and the clarity of the string instruments during an orchestral performance. To round out your listening experience, we recommend adding the SAZ9R wireless rear speakers. For the bass sound, if the input sources contain very little bass sound components (i.e., a TV broadcast), bass sound may be difficult to hear. Please note, that aside from the remote’s 12 step subwoofer adjustment, you can increase the level of your soundbar and subwoofer’s output by an additional 6dB if you access the speaker settings in the Graphical User Interface (GUI).

    Not what I expected in a sound bar for the price. I constantly have to turn off and on to get sound from all 3 speakers. Followed set up instructions to a T but still doesn’t work as I expected it to. Returns have extended due to Covid-19 so, again, may need to just return and find something else.

    Open box purchase: terrible idea

    I bought this soundbar, open box. It looked in like-new condition and I got a 'good' price. Yet, I would never do this again. 1 - I had it and my tv installed on a MantleMount articulating wall mount. Paid many hundreds of dollars for this (all good). Issue is that when I went to use the tv I discovered one of the HDMI inputs was dead. As it would be very difficult to disassemble the mount, I left it as-is. (Another mention would be that this Sony soundbar's mounting holes wouldn't align to a Sony tv - so installer had to jury-rig an attachment). 2 - I just got a new OLED Sony tv and had the installers switch the tv and attach the same sound bar to it. The mounting alignment between soundbar and tv was good. Problem is that it limited access to the HDMI port I had used earlier. So - I had to go buy a right-angle HDMI connector to be able to access it (as the other HDMI port still dead). Now? I don't think the soundbar actually works completely; I'm not able to get Dolby to work.

    If you just want something to be better then the tv speakers... then buy it. But if you're wanting something to shake the painting off the wall... this wont do it. This is just a upgraded version of your tv speakers and for a college kid on a budget this is perfect. Very easy to setup

    Intermittent sound loss from subwoofer

    The sound quality is decent, but not outstanding. However, as with many of the other reviewers, I am also dealing with the subwoofer cutting out intermittently which also happens in sync with the optional Z9R rear speakers. I've done factory resets, moved the speakers around, toggled the RF Channel setting between On/Off several times, but the issue still remains. The only thing I haven't done is hardware the subwoofer. The sound bar itself doesn't seem to be affected, only the wireless subwoofer and rear speakers. I haven't bothered contacting Sony because I know they'll just have me do the same troubleshooting steps I've already done, and I'm not about to waste my time boxing up the equipment so I can ship it to them only for them to tell me they couldn't reproduce the issue and send back the same set of speakers with dings and scratches from being handled by careless technicians. I expect more from Sony considering the price tag they put on their products. Therefore, this will be my LAST Sony purchase.

    I have had this unit for 15 months and the sub and rear speakers no longer link. After rest and reseating cables no avail Because unit is now out of warranty I'm stuck either getting it fixed at who knows what cost or buying new. There is also a known issue with this unit where the sound does in fact cut out particularly with action sequences in TV shows and movies. When it works it sounds great, but I would not recommend it based on the sound cutting out since the beginning 16 months ago. Sony nor BB was ever able to correct that. Sony is a premium brand and paired with one of their premium TV's you expect a fine pairing. Not the case. Looking for suggestions on a good reliable sound bar.

      Don't block the soundbar and the connected device.
      Place your soundbar near the connected device.
      Try a wired connection instead of wireless connection.
      If using wireless connection, make sure there are no other devices near the soundbar.
      Devices such as microwave oven and routers produce electromagnetic waves may that interfere with your soundbar.

      Turn on the RF Channel.
      On the supplied soundbar remote control, press the HOME button.
      Select Setup.
      Select Advanced Settings.
      Select Speaker Settings.
      Select Wireless Speaker Settings.
      Select RF Channel.
      Select On.

    This sound bar and the Sony Tv we had would loose connection somehow and no audio would play. It was sporadic. The tv and sound bar were installed by the Geek Squad. We had them come out 2 more times and try to fix the audio problem. Finally gave up and returned the sound bar.

      We're so sorry to hear about your experience with our HTZ9F. The issue you experienced may be resolved by resetting the BRAVIA Sync function between the TV and the soundbar. You will need to go into the menu of the TV and get to the BRAVIA Sync settings. Clear out any devices paired and turn the feature off. Then, disconnect the HDMI cable between the soundbar and TV from both products. Unplug both the TV and soundbar from the power outlet for 1 minute and plug them back in. Reconnect the HDMI cable between the products and enable BRAVIA Sync. You should have audio connections re-established. Again, we apologize for your experiences of audio drop off. We will have your feedback noted for the improvements to our products.
