We purchase the soundbar & subwoofer as a bundle with our Bravia XR TV. The sound is great, much better than our Bose system that we had before. Everything linked up with the TV and the gaming consoles. The size of the soundbar fits perfectly between the TV stands and not bulky looking. We're looking forward to picking up a set of the Sony rear wireless speakers soon.

The sound quality is a lot better than my previous 2.1 Arion Eagle speakers. I appreciate the Dolby Atmos feature that works with my XBR65X900H TV. The sound is good even though there aren't any vertical pointing speakers. I also appreciate that I can use my iPhone with this via bluetooth, separate from the TV.

It allows you to control sound levels with just the tv remote and I love the option to pair with the wireless surround speakers to create a home theater environment. The night mode is great to watch tv and hear speech without having to turn the volume up and wake the house. Definitely a great purchase

After several trips to Best Buy to compare the different soundbars (my choices came down to Bose 700, Sony HTS5000, Sonos and the Sony Z9F), i finally decided on the Z9F. Best sound out there for your bucks! The best part is that you can add the surround speakers to it which makes the experience complete. I love my soundbar and cannot be any happier with my purchase! Definitely recommended.

So this year I bought the HT-Z9F to upgrade my system. It’s a worthwhile effort. Now I can enjoy my video viewing much better with more realistic experiences. Although X9000F was recommended according to Sony, testing done @ Best Buy indicated HT-Z9F a better product in terms of sound quality. It’s a $300 difference well spent. A sound bar that I strongly recommend and that’s from a retired 40 years audiophile.

I tried three other longer HDMI cables, but the sharp turn was too much. The sound to the actors lips never fixed properly. Over an hour with Sony fixed it with a software update The sub woofer sound volume never met my expectations. It’s too low.

unbelievable clarity and sound

I recommend getting the rear speakers, it completes the system. If you have a small to mid size room you can't go wrong with this sound bar. My only issue was with the price, thats why I gave it 4 stars. I purchased an open box and saved a few hundred bucks. Overall though I recommend the sound bar unless you don't feel comfortable with the price.

Install was extremely easy and the wireless subwoofer is a great convenience and provides deep crisp bass. The whole system provides amazing sound clarity and response. The remote has many helpful preset settings that make it easy to set depending on what you are watching such as video games to sports. The night mode is a nice option when watching late at night and you don't want to shake the house with a movie. Highly recommend.

After a few months, we purchased a Sony Soundbar, and discovered that it was the missing part..you can adjust the sound to meet your needs and wants. So, we are enjoying an all out “better than being in the theater” experience, with the picture and sound. It is worth every penny! We are now hoping to get Sony rear speakers, to complete the set.
