The sound is very clear and the bass from the wireless sub can really shake a room. If you are looking for a supreme theatre type sound this set up may not be for you. It is more than adequate for our family movie nights and action packed scenes. Bestbuy also had a great sale price when it was purchased.

This is the best soundbar that I've ever heard. Wide soundstage and plenty of power for a medium room. Incredible earth shaking low end. Easy setup and great build/material quality. Got it on sale for $699! Highly recommend.

Issue with correct HDMI Inputs

I have to Press the HDMI 1 on the sound bar remote to get sound because the INPUT starts on with TV Input with sound bar. Have SYNC Enabled with both sound bar and Sony 2019 A9G tv. One of the confusing things I noticed is Earc HDMI cable is connected from sound bar to tv and my other 2 devices ( Tivo & PS3 ) connected to sound bar using HDMI 1 & 2 ports from back of sound bar which is correct. The question I have is does it matter which tv HDMI 3 to use. Shows player 1 player 2 and then HDMI eARC? Even though I choose say Player 1 for Tivo the next day the tv chooses HDMI eARC and like I said in the beginning there is no sound because the sound bar input is choosing TV with picture and no sound. Now I watched a YouTube video that said it's the supplied HDMI cable that came with sound bar and do not use it. For my other 2 HDMI inputs from back of sound bar I am using better High Quality HDMI cables.

Thank you for reaching out to your concern, and we're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. As part of normal operations, our soundbar is designed to display the settings and home menu when connected to the TV via HDMI. However, if you disable HDMI control on your TV and soundbar, you can use the soundbar’s remote to operate the soundbar. The Input will not change if you turn on your TV, but you will need to manually power on and off the soundbar with its remote. Also, when using the TV driven content last (not his TiVo or PS3), then the soundbar will default to whatever the last input used was prior to shutting off. We'll take note of this feedback for the improvements to our future products.

Sound is surprisingly good, allows to adjust sound on sub and rear speakers as well as the bar itself. Had to relocate cable box and Orbi satellite well below sound bar on stand so wireless speaker signal wasn’t affected.

I only have the soundbar and included subwoofer and it is a whole home cinema experience - rear speakers are not required. I purchased the Sonos Arc and it was not nearly as good and for the same price you get a far more superior system with Sony! Sony speakers )and headphones) never disappoint.

sound of the device connected to the system is heard, please check the following below:
Make sure that the software is updated as it helps t improve the overall quality of the soundbar.
Check the volume level and the muting function of the sound bar
Make sure the input source is selected correctly.
Check that all the cables and cords of the system and connected device are firmly inserted.
When you play content compatible with copyright protection technology
(HDCP), it may not be output from the system.
Set [Setup] - [Advanced Settings] - [HDMI Settings] - [HDMI Signal Format] to [Standard format]

I was never impressed with the sound bar I had and decided to replace that as well. My living room setup is not the best for a sound system with satellite speakers so I wanted to stick with a sound bar. After reading some reviews online I pulled the trigger on this Sony. The sound is great!!! I am very happy with my purchase.

I’m sure you know new tv’ audio leaves much tobe desired. I listened to several different soundbars in the store and the Sony unit sounded much better than the others. Sounded even better in home environment. Really pleased with the sound quality. I don’t have to use my home theater system to enjoy a good movie. Sony hit a ho e run with this sound bar.

I would definitely recommend getting the additional satellite speakers for a more immersive experience. The "Vertical" sound can sometimes make it sound weird so I generally leave it off. This thing does crank for such a small package. I'm always steaming music to it from my Alexa and it sounds great! Not sure my neighbors feel the same way ;)
