I’m sure you know new tv’ audio leaves much tobe desired. I listened to several different soundbars in the store and the Sony unit sounded much better than the others. Sounded even better in home environment. Really pleased with the sound quality. I don’t have to use my home theater system to enjoy a good movie. Sony hit a ho e run with this sound bar.

It is replacing a $400 Samsung soundbar that very disappointing. It sounds great, the regular price I feel is a little steep, but if you get it on sale its definitely a nice upgrade over TV speakers. I think the average consumer will be pleased with its output.

Set up was easy but be aware that if you want to listen to any of the preinstalled apps on the TV, like Netflix or Amazon Prime thru the sound bar, you must use a Optical Audio cable as well as the HDMI/ARC cable...

I would definitely recommend getting the additional satellite speakers for a more immersive experience. The "Vertical" sound can sometimes make it sound weird so I generally leave it off. This thing does crank for such a small package. I'm always steaming music to it from my Alexa and it sounds great! Not sure my neighbors feel the same way ;)

Subwoofer doesn’t connect all the time

This version was recommended for my Sony OLED TV. What a difference. This is really good. My only quibble is that I 0ften have to use the soundbar remote to switch from TV sound to surround sound when I first turn on the TV. I also bought the paired surround speakers.

With this function, the system turns on automatically and the TV sound is output from the speakers of the system when you turn on the TV. Refer to pages 56-58 of this link:

They offered it for $300 and had to take home. Now, for that price it's a steal specially for the great sound and bass. But for the full price,ight as well build your own. Other than that, a good 3.1 sound system.......if you buy at a bargain price. :)

Phenomenal audio system to pair with Sony TVs

The soundbar simulates Dolby Atmos, and when watching Atmos-certified content you’d swear you have a component surround sound system. The subwoofer is incredibly punchy and powerful. I could see how this may be slightly underwhelming in larger rooms, but medium to small size rooms will quickly have theater-quality audio added to it with the HT-Z9F.

It provides great sound with the included wireless subwoofer. It could be because it’s positioned in front of that massive tv, but seems rather compact in size as well. I’m looking forward to adding the rear wireless speakers soon to complete the surround sound effect. Definitely recommend.

Good but pricey soundbar!

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased the Sony HT-Z9F soundbar to compliment my new Bravia X950G 4K HDTV so I could have "better" sound when compared to my TV speakers and overall I'd say I do have better sound. I was originally leaning towards the Sony G700 soundbar (2020 model) but the main reason I chose not to go with it was that it didn't have Wi-Fi whereas the Z9F does so it'll make updating the firmware and such much easier! Overall, the Z9F offers a great selection of features for a soundbar, however, the biggest drawback is the price especially when this model is several years old already since it was released. Luckily, I was able to purchase it on sale for $699.99 compared to its regular price of $899.99 (which is steep especially when you don't even get the rear wireless speakers added which is another $300 extra). Anyhow, if you're looking for a good soundbar, then I highly recommend you look at the Z9F but only get it if its on sale!!!

Love my new TVs and sound system

I decided to get a decent sound system to go with my flat screen tv . I have been listening to the speakers that came on the tv and that sound was extremely flat. I lucked out and found one in the open box. There is no comparison in sound. The staff was excellent at Best Buy. The variety at Best Buy is also excellent.

Superb Soundbar with Vertical Sound Technology.

Much better than my old 150 watt system. The only con is it occasionally goes muffles the sound when someone gets up off the couch for some reason.
