Amazing sound quality. The Dolby Atmos is like having speakers in the rear. The subwoofer is very deep and strong. Connection setup is effortless and love the night mode. Pairs well with my new 85 inch Sony TV

I am very happy with the sound output from this sound bar. The only downside is the difficulty of connectivity. I currently only have it hooked up from the TV to the sound bar using an optical cable. That may be my problem as I’m not using the arc connection. But I currently can’t figure out how to make one remote run the TV and sound bar. With my last setup (all LG), even when I connected just the optical cable, I set sound output to LG Soundbar (or whatever the title was) and it was god from there on out. I used just the tv remote and it turned everything on, ran everything, Didn’t need a remote for the sound bar...

Looked at many, listened to several at store. My son had one identical, yet it was more than I wanted to spend. After going through the different display units, none sounded as good in the price range, so I bit the bullet and bought this one. It has great sound, when the networks aren't limiting sound on program and blaring commercials that is. Awesome on Netflix and movies without commercials. Also on Blu-ray DVD's and video games. I've not delved into the Dolby atmos etc, just the basics. I do stream music which also rocks. Again, this sounds awesome, has very good fill for the $$. Bass is way better with this 10" sub over other budget brands, 8".

Very happy with the quality of the soundbar, does a great job with dialogue thanks to its dedicated center speaker which you can adjust the voice level. It's been out 2 years now but it continues to have firmware updates, ver 2.314 came out on 4/02/20. That makes me feel a lot better about my purchase. The Vertical sound engine makes a big difference, I generally find myself toggling it off and on to see how it sounds on whatever I'm viewing/listening at that time. One thing you may want to consider as it's adds more $$ to the bar. Is seriously consider purchasing the rear speakers "SA-Z9R" , they make a pretty big difference especially in 5.1 movies!. I think there pricey but worth it. Overall, I'm very happy with the setup.

Great sound from the sound bar and bass. Added the additional rear speakers and it really kicked up the immersion. Can't comment on the ATMOS processing vs traditional up-firing speakers as I have not experienced true ATMOS sound anywhere else. ATMOS sound tracks do sound great to me though. Pros: eARC/ARC works flawlessly, floods a 500sq room with clear sound with ease and the volume isn't cranked that high, meaning there is plenty of head room still. Cons: Switching Bluetooth between transmit and receive breaks connectivity, requiring you to unplug the bar from power to get BT working again. RF interference disables all but bass sound unless you turn on Dolby Virtualization.

I’m used to having several speakers for home theatre, but thought I’d try a nice sound bar and wireless sub to simplify things. For the small area I’m using this sound system for, having a dozen or so speakers would be overkill and look bad. The good: clear sound, plenty of volume, HDMI pots with 4K pass through so I don’t have to have several cables running through my wall. I bought the SONY 900H TV, so the sound bar turns on when the TV does, and I can use the TV remote to control everything. Looks good and the Vertical Sound button is a fun effect. I’m using one of the Sound bar’s HDMI ports for a micro computer for internet access, and programmed the Sony TV button to switch input to the Soundbars HDMI 1. The not so good: early on the sound bar would sometimes throw out a static tone and shut down. Sometimes the sound bar won’t play sound- using the tv remote, I switched sound to TV speakers (which worked), then switched back to sound bar (which would usually clear this issue). Sound is good and clear, but without side/top-facing speakers the sound is pretty linear. Compared to the Sonos Arc, the Sony does not have as much room-filling sound or L/R capabilities- it’s basically a really nice all-in-one center speaker. All in all it’s a good compact sound bar that has a ton of tech features I’ll likely never use. Sound is good, but not really comparable to true 5.1/7.1 audio setup that you can fine tune to your liking. If I had to do it over again… I’m at a toss up between saying “Yes, Sony’s simple solution for this application is great,” and “I would pony up a bit more money for Sonos Arc and Sub.” At this point, I like the product, but if these issues don’t fix themselves through updates in the next year, I’ll be trading in to upgrade.

Bought this item a month ago, and it has been nothing but exceptional with the depth of sound we are now hearing. The sound bar picks up the nuances in music, especially the soundtracks accompanying tv shows. I plugged in a flash drive with several gigs worth of mp3's, and it was astonishing how good the reproduction was. Hooking up the unit was so simple, I just ran an HDMI cable from the TV's HDMI-arc to the connection on the sound bar, and it was up and running almost instantly. No worries here, which was a concern with buying a sound bar. We are very satisfied with the product, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a well above average sound bar/woofer.

i writing this review because i rely on reviews before i buy. the sony saz9f is great,i thought you needed many more speakers in the sound bar to get sound effects,you do not. this sony sounds better than i expected. i also bought the rear surrounds at the same time because many said it needed them so i do not how it sounds without them but its great with them i hear sounds i never heard before in tv shows as well as movies i know you cant go with sony products i have several never had any problems.

This is the best sounding low profile soundbar that fits perfectly under a Sony tv. It didn’t take much effort to setup with the Tv. Simply attach the supplied hdcp 2.2 hdmi attach to the ARC connection in the soundbar and ARC on the tv. The tv automatically recognizes the soundbar and switches from tv speakers to external system. The wireless subwoofer did not automatically connect. You have to use the speaker remote settings menu to manually pair the speaker. Took under 2 minutes to perform. This is the best soundbar system I have heard with 4K HDR, Atmos and DTS, you can listen to all of the newest audio formats. Use this connected to a 4K supported device, such as the Roku Ultra and you won’t be disappointed.

Great soundbar! I’ve got this paired with the rears and it does make a big difference. Setup was a breeze. Less than 5 minutes from box to sound. Tweaking the settings was another 5. Paired with Sony TV. Dialogue is perfect. I’ve had bars in the past that drown out voices. This one is perfect for audio but also does a great job with the other sounds. Build quality is spot on. Fits under a 55 inch Sony perfect and sits between the legs so it’s a super clean look. I do feel it’s a touch overpriced for what it’s competing against (north of 1000 with the rears) but it’s a nice system that sounds great

This is so awesome! The sound clarity is excellent. I can already feel the surround sound effect with "vertical system" turned on. Subwoofer is also very powerful so I need to watch it before thumping the floor! I like the different modes available for cinema, music, news etc. with the subtle but noticeable changes that add a better experience while listening. I don't think I need rear speakers for the space I have and with neighbors getting disturbed... But I bet that would add much more completeness to the system.

This is my first sound bar, therefore, can't really compare. However, this sound bar provide very clear sound and strong base. It is great for listening to concert music. It is a bit pricey but worth it. Best way to hook up with TV is via HDMI cable using an ARC port. It allow the control of sound bar from the TV remote. Optical cable do not allow the control from TV remote. The sound bar come with its own remote which is easy to use. Casting from smart device like iPAD or smart phone is easy and automatic.

Great sound, easy setup, and slim design. The wireless subwoofer is nice, you only need power, no speaker wires.

Bought this to go with a Sony x950g tv and Sony 4k player. Easy to set up, works great with the other Sony products. Good things: 1. Easy to set up, works great with the other Sony products 2. The Chromecast from your phone is great, better than a Google home. Plus you can use the controller to change songs and volume. 3. If you use streaming music apps, it has the ability built in, which is real nice. 4. You can use your Google home to cast music to the speaker. 5. Vertical sound. I like it for movies, but not regular TV shows. Kind of an odd feature, but I think I would like it more with the rear speakers. Some issues: 1. Sound kept cutting out after being muted, or just after use for a while. I then hooked it up to WiFi and it downloaded the updates. That fixed the issue. 2. After about a month, the sub kept going in and out, almost sounded like it was blown. But after turning off just the sub, and reconnecting, it worked fine. I learned to leave the sub off, excecr for when I really want it (movies). Haven't had an issue since, but annoying I have to watch it. Other than the above, no other issues. The sound bar delivers good sound, but not the best. Takes a while to figure out what settings you like the best. I rated it a 4 because for the price, you should not have to figure out issues/work arounds. And the sound should be better even without rear speakers. To have to spend a few hundred more for rear speakers is annoying, so I have not purchased them. Personally, I like home sound system and speakers better than a sound bar, but this is a good one, especially if you don't have space for other speakers.

Sony HT Z9F 3.1 worked flawlessly with my new 75” Sony Bravia TV after I read and followed the instructions. Sound quality is excellent.

Great sound from this sound bar although a bit pricy. Be sure to get the rear speakers, they make the sound even better.

If your your Subwoofer cuts in and out sometimes.. Its a easy fix..... Mines was doing that today.. Im a huge movie fan and i have all the goodies in my collection, (YOU GOING TO NEED A ANALOG CABLE) in the back of the Soundbar itself there is a flat piece that you have to peel off and you will see 3 ports. You will see 1 for SW(SUBWOOFER), Plug one end of the cable and you will need to the same to the SUBWOOFER. Once you plugged together, no more problems with the SUBWOOFER cutting in and out.... Im watching Dark Knight Trilogy right now and no problems....

Good. The sound quality is really good especially if you have the rear wireless speakers. Sometimes it seems as if it gets a little confused though. Sound can cut in and out. I have it direct wired into my router but it seems like there’s a signal issue once in a great while. Again overall the sound is great.
