Better range of audio. Good quality subwoofer delivers very good base. If you’re looking to significantly upgrade the sound from TV speakers without breaking the bank, I highly recommend this system.

The bass has a very deep sound like your in a movie theater. It has multiple HDMI ports which is good if your have game systems setup. One of the best features I like is that it Auto detechs and switches the inputs. ex: If your watching your cable box and decide to play your XBOX or PS4, once you turn it on the picture will switch. Its a great buy with a great sound!

Also get the rear surround speakers (purchased separately) that produce a great soundstage for music or video. The base unit is crisp and not overbearing. Arc HDMI integration with TV is good. Can be little quirky switching from Bluetooth back to TV input mode, but can be overcome with practice. Don’t miss my 5.1 system to get a smaller footprint system.

Great soundbar without breaking the piggy bank

I ran the volume level at about 23 on the previous soundbar. I run the volume of this model at 17. Sound is crystal clear and the center speaker helps voice clarity. Night button is a nice touch for those in the house still asleep. Very satisfield and would recommend to anyone.

Not worth the money

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased this as a package with the Sony A8H TV so that way I was able to get the soundbar for $499, but even at that price I don't think it is worth it. I purchased it because of the good reviews I had read on many websites. Honestly the TV has really nice speakers so the difference between using the tv speakers and the sound bar was pretty much just the extra bass produced by the sound bar. Also you are not able to adjust the bass, treble, etc manually. There are just some presets that you can change such as Music, Movies, etc. I ended up returning it. This is the only soundbar that I have ever had so I can't really compare it to anything else, but I feel like it is just not what I expected. I feel like any cheap sound bar would probably sound similar.

Thank you for purchasing the HTZ9F. We regret to hear that we were not able to meet your expectations with the sound quality and unit has been returned. This is definitely not the experience we want you to have. If the input sources contain very little bass sound components (i.e., a TV broadcast), the sound from the subwoofer may be difficult to hear. There are setting on the soundbar that you can change so you can enjoy the sound effects that are tailored to different kinds of sound sources. We appreciate your feedback and hope that you will shop Sony again.
