The sound bar appears to have solved that problem without having to add to the volume level. The sound seems more even and clear, a most welcome change.

Walking pass this unitand heard it being demoed. I stopped in my tracks and turned back to listen. I was sold from the first bass line. Took it home installed it and have not regretted this purchase.

Set up was fairly easy, but programming it was a little tricky. Finally gave up and got BB to come finish the installation. Even the tech had to get the manual.

Soundbar good, subwoofer choppy

The subwoofer is often very good, but..... it gets choppy. Not all the time. It varies. I've moved the subwoofer all over the place to see if it changes. Nope. Reset to factory settings. Nope. I even sent it in for warranty work. They could not reproduce the problem, so they fixed nothing. I even tried a different TV (different HDMI connection to soundbar). Nope. I can turn it off, which is what we do if it is acting up. That kinda defeats the purpose.

The sound for Movies is great. The music really sounds rich. Watching basic TV and sports using the sound bar is not the best. I would recommend this for movies.

The vertical sound technology is fantastic! I was about to buy a full surround component system and was a bit skeptical when buying this but it has proved me wrong and I am very happy with no regrets.

Sound keeps cutting out, making it unusable. Sony said it’s my problem and they won’t fix it. Don’t waste your money.

Great sound bar but doesn’t give you full Amos

With max 7.1.2 surround sound and our Vertical Surround Engine technology, you can enjoy the latest 3D audio formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X – with virtual surround sound that seems to come from all around you. The HT-Z9F features customizable speaker settings where you can set the speaker distance from 0 ft to 33 ft for much richer sound quality. You can raise the level of the rear speakers 12 steps on the remote and also an additional 6 dB via the onscreen menu to help fill out your room better. To enhance your experience we recommend adding the SAZ9R wireless rear speakers.
