Speaker Problems

I have difficulty understanding speech and these speakers do not help. I have a $100 bar in the next room that makes the speaker clear, so I watch TV from that room.

Nice sound system

If that is what you are looking for I would suggest a surround sound system. Previously that is what we had and this takes some getting used to!

We'd love to provide you information about the soundbar and make this experience more enjoyable. The subwoofer is designed for playback of bass or low frequency sound. The rear speakers are designed for
playback of the surround part of the multi-channel sound and surround sound that is created from the 2-channel sound using virtual processing. Note that when the input source does not contain
much bass sound, such as in TV programs, the bass sound from the subwoofer may be difficult to hear. Sony takes into consideration all feedbacks as it helps to improve the quality of our products and services.

Fantastic When Working Correctly

I think when taking into consideration all the options and features it offers, as well as the sound quality when "working," it's worth the price of admission. That being said, since about second week of ownership (beyond the BB return policy of course) I've had nothing but intermittent issues with the Sub-woofer and rear surround speakers cutting out and/or skipping audio. It's a daily occurrence at this point. I've reset the system (daily now) as instructed by Sony, switched the RF option off and on in the settings, moved the sub to multiple locations, moved my WIFI and cable modem/router to different rooms, and just about every other suggestion I've found while searching the problem online. All to no avail. This happens regardless of the input being used or the source material, i.e., Netflix, HD Blu-Ray, or satellite TV. At this point I give up. I understand that some units are just inherently bad and it boils down to luck of the draw, but that doesn't help with my lost monetary investment nor my wasted time and frustration. I can't recommend this unit, nor will I be going the Sony route again in the near future. Installation issue

Continued to work on the installation for over 2 hours. Finally in desperation went to YouTube to see if anyone else had an issue. On YouTube found a person who stated the HDMI cable that was included with the sound bar would not work, to buy a different one. I did that and finally got it to work. Why would Sony include an inferior HDMI cable with such an expensive system. I intentionally bought 2 Sony products assuming that they would work together.
