The quality is pretty good but not nearly good enough for the original price. It replaced a very old and inexpensive soundbar so it is a nice improvement. While it its good I’m not blown away by the sound.

Setup was easy, sounded great at first then we started experiencing short intermittent subwoofer disconnection issues. First thought it was related to my streaming device, issue went away the next day. When the issue returned, it was now from a different device. Checked with Bluetooth and issue persisted, so now we ruled out the TV, streaming devices, and any HDMI compatibility issues. Googled "HTZ9F subwoofer cutting out" and that is where we found a plethora of customers with similar issues. Apparently there is a problem with RF interference, and Sony has not released a software patch to address this (eg, defaulting the wireless frequency to a less popular channel). This results in having to take one of many troubleshooting steps to get your very nice and very expensive sound bar to work in any semblance of what you would expect. Tried to return to Best Buy and replace it with something that actually works, but we were 2-weeks outside the return window. Now we have a 2-month old crappy $1k sound bar that was strongly recommended by Best Buy staff and I have to deal with Sony tech support. Very disappointed in Sony, and Best Buy. Take this junk back, and RMA it back to the manufacturer... and quit selling this garbage.

Thank you for reaching out to us. We're sorry to hear the issue that you are experiencing with the soundbar. Let us help troubleshoot and resolved the issues. Please check the following below if the subwoofer sound cuts out:
- If there is a device nearby that generates electromagnetic waves, such as a wireless LAN or a
microwave oven in use, locate the system apart from it.
- If there is an obstacle between the main unit and the subwoofer, move or remove it.
- Locate the main unit and the subwoofer as close as possible.
- Change the [RF Channel] setting
- Switch the network connection of the TV or Blu-ray Disc player from wireless to wired.
