What sound you do get is okay, but the volume is terrible. Constantly have it set at 50-60 just to hear it. Going to have to get some additional Bluetooth bookcase speakers to help out. Easy set up, and the bass sounds good, but once again has to be dialed pretty high. My 15 year old Samsung TV has better volume control. Will be going back to Samsung after this one.

I purchased this product online as open box excellent condition. After paying for it, I went to the store to pick it up. When I got there, the clerk hands me just a soundbar with no cables, remote control, box, or manuals. I told him the sound bar was suppose to be open box excellent condition with accessories and the speaker I received was just in poor condition. That wasn’t what I paid for. It felt like a bait and switch. I felt scammed. I was told if I wanted a refund I had to walk to the front of the store holding the soundbar with a sticker and my name on it. Nobody seemed to care that my time was wasted. They thought it was funny that I payed so much for a used display model. In the over 25 years I shopped with Best Buy.. this has truly been the worst experience I ever had. I don’t know if I can shop comfortably with Best Buy after this. I feel falsely misled and grossly ripped off. I really feel humiliated.

The massive full sound is the showcase of this Sony - HTA3000 from my experience. This fantastic soundbar met every expectation I needed except in a few cases but overall it's my new replacement for my home audio setup. Sony HTA3000 is nothing short of an "extremely premium" soundbar coming with everything you need to get started as quickly as you can. The package came in three separate boxes: The soundbar, The subwoofer, and the two rear speakers. All of which came with quick start guides. The soundbar is beautifully designed to go with a black setup using matte black on the surface. HT-A3000 is 3.1 soundbar with left, center, and right channels, and 2x subwoofers. This design extends to the rear speakers and the subwoofer and while it's nothing that stands out; it just looks good in any home. Classic Sony soundbar design with bright LEDs on the front for indications for various settings. The soundbar comes with a remote that is pretty basic. HTA3000 was very simple to set up as the back speakers and subwoofer automatically connected to the soundbar once plugged in. So setting up wasn't a hassle. Both rear speakers have their own A/C power and are completely wireless. Once connected to the HDMI ARC there is an interface menu you can use most of the settings. This model of the speakers doesn't have any up-firing speakers for atoms but does a great job with the speakers inside giving rich bold sound floating around the room. Sony calls this "360 Spatial Sound" which is a technology that allows you to hear things in 360-degree surround sound. I love it, it's as simple as that. The soundbar is rich, powerful, and full of bass. It also is effective in creating sound in corners of the living room. HTA3000 was also paired with a Playstation 5; I was able to hear sound on a game with an upstairs and downstairs allowing me to hear the footsteps that were coming in to attack me (Back 4 Blood), Gunshots hitting the wall in a basement was unique to my sound experience. There is a demo of 360 Spatial Sound once you connect the soundbar to a TV that gives you a sound experience you would certainly enjoy. Sony's rear speakers create multiple virtual speakers from just a soundbar and rear speakers. So the sound is really giving a theatre-like experience. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are presented in this HTA3000 and they work flawlessly with movies and streaming services. Chromecast, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and Bluetooth playback are your choices for streaming music. I've tested Apple Music (Airplay 2) and Spotify Connect and they worked great so no issues there. What I don't like about the HTA3000? It seems like a small thing but a small thing can turn into a big problem real fast. This soundbar does not have an HDMI passthrough. If this does not concern you then you should skip this part of the review. But this is a HUGE problem in my eyes, especially for a soundbar in this era. Yes, this isn't a problem for most as most TVs have 3-4 HDMI inputs but not all. Some TVs have 1-2 HDMI (one of them being ARC) ports that could be a big headache. While yes HDMI splitter boxes exist finding one with ARC is a pain. It would have been easier to just make an HDMI passthrough even on this version of the soundbar otherwise your solution is to just use an optical cable. This has nothing to do with the sound quality of the soundbar just an improvement I would like to see on newer versions. Clearly, this soundbar works best with Sony-related TV/devices. Listening to movies was a surreal experience and I loved it. Watching a few Blu-ray HDR 4k movies with sound to go along with the viewing experience was nice. Hearing all things around you was great giving me my own IMAX at home. Setting up the soundbar was easy and it wasn't much to connect. The sound is absolutely amazing and the bass from the subwoofer was powerful. It's just an all-around great product that you don't see that often nowadays. 360 sound is the winner of this product and it gives the sound it's supposed to give. Recommended to family, friends, gamers, and movie watchers alike. can't go wrong with this sony Soundbar at all.

I recently purchased a new Sony 4K TV and really wanted an external soundbar/home audio system to take full advantage of the new purchase. The Sony HT-A3000 3.1 Channel Dolby Atmos Soundbar (with optional SA-SW3 wireless sub-woofer and SA-RS3 rear channel speakers) is the perfect solution. The soundbar comes well packaged and includes the speaker, a full-featured remote, power and HDMI cables, a center speaker cable, documentation including a quick start guide and a wall mount bracket/template. Once unboxed, setup was very straight forward...simply connect the sound bar to the TV via HDMI (eARC) if available...which my TV has. Connect any other components via HDMI to the TV as there is only HDMI port on the soundbar. There is also an optical port available as an option to eARC. Plug in the power on the soundbar, optional sub and rear channel speakers and they all connect automatically at startup. Once power and HDMI cables are hooked up up and all pieces are connected, select the HDMI port that the soudbar is connected to on the TV and hit the “Home” button on the included remote control. There is an easy setup and a full-featured setup depending how involved you want to get during this step. The remote is easy to use and navigation around the different setup options is well mapped out. Having used other Sony soundbars, the Sony Music Center app was already downloaded to my iPhone and this app can be used for configuring audio or other features like Alexa voice support. With 360 Digital Sound Mapping and 360 Reality Audio, Sony has really stepped up their game with this soundbar. Using Sound Field Optimization the soundbar maps to the room it’s being used in to provide the most immersive TV or music experience. During setup, I tested some 360 Reality Audio via Amazon Prime and it’s like you’re listening to a band play live right in your living room! When watching TV, the first thing that really jumped out was the clarity of dialogue in the midrange. It seems like some TV shows or stations lack clear dialogue output in the midrange and I really need to crank up the volume to hear the dialogue, that is completely gone with this soundbar. Dialogue is easy to follow and yet the bass and high ranges still sound amazing. There are a number of sound options available including Dolby Atmos, DTX Now for music, The HT-A3000 has built-in support for Spotify Connect and other music services via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi streaming, Chromecast built-in or Apple AirPlay 2. I was curious to see how easy this system would be to use with my iPhone or laptop. There are 2 options for connecting for music: Bluetooth and WiFi. With BT, it's as easy as turning the sound bar to Bluetooth mode and connecting your phone...boom, deep and rich music in less than a minute! The soundbar can also connect to a home network and is supported through the Sony Music Center app. One other area that should not be overlooked is the size of this soundbar, it’s relatively small compared to many current premium soundbars. It weighs about 10 pound and is less than 38” wide. This would make for an easy installation on a wall if desired. The build quality is top-notch as expected from Sony. There are several controls built into the top of the soundbar for easy operation if the remote is not nearby. Pros: - The Sound – this is an amazing premium soundbar with incredible sound - Ease of setup - Self connecting Wireless Sub Woofer and Rear Channel Speakers (optional) - Bluetooth and WiFi connection options for music, updates and more - Top-notch quality and modern design and aesthetics - Deep rich sound quality and great dialogue clarity in the midrange Cons: - No backlight on the remote control makes it tough to see in a dark room (nitpicking perhaps) - Only 1 HDMI port on the speaker (optical and USB options) Overall, this is a great sounding, easy to set up and great looking sound bar and speaker system. I would definitely recommend this setup to anyone looking for an affordable yet premium soundbar.

Great job Sony This set up is amazing. Soundbar, Sub and Rear speakers. Sound for both movies and music is excellent. Sony has also built in a new sound feature called 360 Reality Audio which is a new immersive sound experience similar to encoders like Dolby Atmos, dts-x etc.. You do have to find audio that have this feature which for now is only available vis a subscription based streaming service. Sony offers a trial period for a couple of streaming options. I tried the Amazon music and did notice you hear more of a 360 experience when I could find music that are 360 encoded. I did not do enough listening to pass judgement yet. Ultra HD audio alone sounds darn good to me. This is a new offering by Sony, so I am sure we will have more options soon. Set up was a breeze. The unit comes with a mounting template to properly position 2 screws in wall to hang on the wall, which is how I mounted. (See pics) I connected the HDMI cable to ARC HDMI (ARC) connection on the TV, plugged in all the speakers into the AC outlets and powered everything up. The Rear Speakers (RS3S) and Sub Woofer (SW3) all connected wirelessly an automatically were recognized by the head unit. The wireless sub and rears, really makes set up so easy. Next, Press the Home button on the remote to walk you through room set up. The unit automatically scans your room and set up the speaker volumes on all speakers to the best volume. Download Sony Music Center app onto your phone. This will help you to set up features like Alexa and adjust other Audio and general settings as well as play music. I set up both Spotify and Amazon Music. Connection. The remote has a Music Service button which takes you to Spotify, once set up, you simply press this button to resume your listening. Your TV display will show a nice simple interface. The other functions of the remote are laid out nicely and easy to use. You have a ‘Voice’ button that allows you to enhance the voices, a ‘Night’ button which enhances sound at lower volume, a USB button to play music from a USB stick, volume buttons for rear and subwoofer speakers to manually adjust to your desired levels. You also have a sound field button that provides more of a 3D surround sound. I have left it ON so far. A dimmer button allows you to dim or turn off the front display. This also controls the green status lights on the Sub and back speakers. Top of sound bar: Power, Input, Bluetooth, Music Service and Volume buttons. Back of soundbar: Power connection, HDMI ARC, TV input jack (optical) for TV’s without ARC (Audio Return Channel) connection, S-Center out and USB Port and remote IR repeaters. Front of soundbar: Front panel display, remote control sensor and Bluetooth indicator light. I use this system in my rec room for movies, watch sports and playing music when entertaining. I find all the connection options work well and nice to even use Alexa to control the soundbar for music. The A3000 is compatible with Alexa, Google assistants and Apple AirPlay. Also has Chromecast built in for easy music streaming. Conclusion: I am impressed with this HT-A3000 Sony Soundbar. True immersive sound and this unit gets loud. I will say though, that I highly recommend the Sub-Woofer and Back Speakers. I listened to the system without the sub and rears at first and noticed a big difference. That said, I was more impressed than prev. models though. The sound field and bass were pretty good for the Soundbar alone, but again, the Sub and Rear speakers definitely provide the ‘Wow’ factor.

Excellent Soundbar Made Better With Accessories

For the last week I've been testing the Sony HT-A3000 3.1 Dolby Atmos soundbar. I also have the optional subwoofer and surround speakers; however, I am focusing my review on the soundbar by itself and I'll mention the rest at the end.. The soundbar is very simple to set up. I plugged one cable into the electrical outlet, and one HDMI (eARC) cable to my laser projector. The soundbar immediately displayed an on-screen setup menu and after a few clicks’ setup was complete. As for sound performance, I'll start by saying, prior to using the soundbar I didn't think that it was going to be any good without the sub and surrounds, but I was wrong. It sounded fantastic. By itself It's probably best suited for use in a bedroom or apartment where too much bass will anger your neighbors. While watching a movie I found that turning on the "sound field" setting gave me the best sound. Dialogue was loud and clear, and the left and right channels provided a nice wide soundstage that was immersive. Even without up-firing speakers the ATMOS sound was so pinpoint accurate and immersive that it felt like an imaginary bubble formed around me and the soundbar. As for the bass, there were three levels of bass that I could choose from: Min, Mid and Max. Obviously, I was using Max which was surprisingly good enough. It won't replace the need for a woofer, but it also won’t sound anemic. While listening to music I found that turning off the "sound field" setting provided the best sound. Voices sounded crystal clear and were not overshadowed by the mids and bass. The instruments also had great separation and didn't sound like they were stepping on each other. If you really want to take this soundbar to another level, get the woofer and surrounds. I loved that there were no additional steps necessary to set them up. All I had to do was plug them into power and the soundbar automatically detected them and recalibrated itself. This setup is perfect for anyone that doesn't want to run wires throughout their house. Also, the Atmos sounded better than any soundbar I have tested, and it was even better than my $4000 stereo system. With that said, I highly recommend this soundbar (and accessories) above all others.

If you aren't looking to have a full blown A/V recdeiver and half a dozen speakers these soundbars are a great way to get quality audio with immersive surround sound. Out of the box the first thing I noticed was how solid the soundbar felt and that it isn't a mesh grill like most are. The grill and case are a quality metal or aluminum which not only is better protection wise in my opinion but also looks great. I had it setup and calibrating in about 10 minutes after unboxing the soundbar, subwoofer, and wireless rear speakers. It is noticebly smaller than my previous Samsun soundbar as you can see in the pictures which could be a pro for those with limited space. It can also be easily wall mounted which is how I have a soundbar in my office and these do look slick mounted on the wall. Overall sound quality is great. I ran the speaker calibration after getting everything plugged in and after about 5 minutes the speakers were done calibrating. I fired up some UHD streaming movies that were Dolby Atmos and enjoyed the show! Only thing that could be annoying is the rear wireless speakers have red light when not being used. Could bother some people if you are also in that room in the dark when not using them such as a bedroom. Overall this is a solid system with great immersive surround sound, crystal clear audio, and some solid bass for a soundbar setup. Connected my phone via bluetooth in a matter of a few seconds and stream music to it when just doing chores and other things around the upstairs of my house.

Blown away by the quality audio of this sound bar. The price is up there but I feel it is well justified with not just the audio quality but the size of the sound bar and even better with the rear speakers. The optional subwoofer is also plenty powerful to hear those banging movie scenes and all the music with great bass. My suggestion is to get the complete package to be immersed in the full experience. Getting everything out of the box and connected was very straight forward. I liked the ease of getting it setup and even had the speaker configuration optimized to my living room. The ability to play Dolby Atmos coded movies and get a full 360 Reality Audio experience in this price range gets all the rave from me. If you already have it connected to a Sony Bravia TV, the experience on how it works with the TV is a good one. The included remote allows for you to change settings on the fly for bass and even the rear speakers. Coming from someone that has had his fair share of sound bars, this one is one the best ones to come along and is worth upgrading. I repeat, if you are looking for the complete package - get the rear speakers and subwoofer to experience audio at its best.

Sony's latest soundbar, the A3000, adds a budget friendlier option to their range of audio soundbar products and is packed full of features including the ability to add additonal speakers from their line of wireless speakers and other geatures such as Alexa and Apple AirPlay 2. The A3000 soundbar comes with a setup manual, remote, 2.1 HDMI cable, and power cable. Setting it up was very easy; I connected the HDMI cable into the eARC port (more on why this is important below) and changed the audio setting on my TV to output the audio via external speakers. Viola! The sound began resounding from the 3 front firing speakers and the 2 built in subwoofers. Its low profile and slick look, in my personal opinion, would not detract from the look or personal tastes of those who are concerned about having a speaker out in front or below their TV. At least for me personally, my wife did not raise any concerns about the appearance of the TV stand after placing the soundbar on it. For audio, placement is important especially for the room you are in. Having the soundbar center towards it's viewers would be simple, although many soundbars aren't able to fill the room with audio. This wasn't the case with Sony's soundbar. Sound traveled throughout my large living room. Low end frequencies did sound a little muffled and background noise for scenes wasn't up to par for what I was expecting. After searching through settings and enabling the Sound Field feature, I was amazed with how well the A3000 sound changed. Although lows still lacked, details in the audio were more pronounced. It was able to push the explosive sounds from scenes in The Gray Man throughout my 13' x 20' living room. Dialogue was clear when listening to the news and sports broadcaster could be heard through the roaring crowds of soccer games. Music was vibrant and the sound of musical instruments really shined through the soundbar. With music in particular, I noticed that the soundbar leaned more towards producing soft lows and keener highs. Where the A3000 really shined was when enabling the Sound Field feature. This is used to produce a 3D type of sound, and it truly does; audio was fuller and details in scenes were more pronounced. Car honks, radio music, office chatter (examples of background noise in movies and shows) could be heard clearer when this option was enabled. In addition to this, for movies that had DTS:X and Dolby Atmos audio codecs I noticed the audio had more oomph and produced details that could be heard coming from different directions in the room. Through eARC, these audio codecs were able to be passed through to the soundbar to reproduce the effects of these audio codecs. eARC provides additional bandwith for these special audio codecs. Lastly, the soundbar has features for Alexa, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, and the updated Apple AirPlay 2. All were tested and fuctioned well in my experience. It made it easier to play audio from my mobile devices and not have to bring out an aux to play audio from them. Another added bonus for the A30010 soundbar is the ability to add additonal wireless speakers and a wireless subwoofer. This is a big plus as many quality sound systems require for speaker wire to be run to connect multiple speakers in a system. After personally testing the two Sony RS3S bookshelf speakers and placing them in the rear, backside of the room facing listeners, I cam say that the surround sound quality is exceptional. Adding the SW3 subwoofer to the mix, it provided room shakening effects. In scenes where there was rain, I could hear the surround sound and made it feel like you were in the movie! In another scene when watching the kids movie Cars with my children, when the old town radio was playing in the background at Radiator Springs, I was amazed at how well the audio was reproduced and thought someone outside or in a latter part of the house was playing music! Although the soundbar already elevates the sound of movies and shows, adding the RS3S bookshelf speakers for surround sound and the SW3 subwoofer for additional bass thumping sound, takes audio to the next level. Now for the downsides. While the internal subwoofers in the soundbar are great additions to bring some bass into sequences, it does not replace an external subwoofer. The internal subwoofers do provide some oomf to explosive scenes but after owning several external subwoofers, the wall shakening effect isn't the same. Another downside is the inability to switch audio codec formats from the soundbar. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to music, movies, and shows with Sony's A3000 soundbar. It truly elevates the viewing experience and is much better than any audio TVs offer. I recommend the A3000 to those looking to elevate their audio and viewing experience. It is a great upgrade from TV audio and will notice the huge difference of what this soundbar can make.
