Voice clarity -the main reason I got a soundbar- is lacking. Yes, it is better than the speakers in my Sony tv (. 85 inch Bravia) but it certainly does not make me say “wow, I’m glad I spent that $$ on this thing”..

We have a Sony Bravia tv and he wanted a soundbar also, i chose this one. The sound is ok, but not great from it, I'm wondering if we have it properly positioned and setup correctly. Our tv seemed louder without it. We love the Sony brand .

Press (volume) + on the remote control and check the volume level.
Press (muting) or (volume) + on the remote control to cancel the muting function.
Make sure the input source is selected correctly. You should try other input sources by pressing the input select button on the remote control (TV/USB/BLUETOOTH).
Make sure that the connectors are firmly inserted.
