I had been looking for a soundbar system that would produce phenomenal sound while not breaking the bank for a long time before this Sony HT-A3000 came along. I went through several other options always finding them lacking in some way or another. I am so happy with this Sony setup. The sound coming from this is extremely impressive. It is loud yet crisp and clear, and every tone is full and rich. I am continually surprised by the things I had been missing before. I have it paired with the SA-SW3 subwoofer, and SA-RS3S rear speakers which bring a ton more to the sound field. Alone the bar sounds great, but with the addition of the rears and sub, it is on a totally different level. I have used it for Bluetooth music, airplay, and HDMI eARC for gaming and movie watching so far and in every case it is amazing. The user interface is simple but easy to use, and initial setup shows the 3D audio demo and runs a self-adjustment optimizing for surroundings in your room. It was automatic and worked like a charm. It looks very nice with high quality materials and a nice rounded off shape. It has a metal mesh grille, and a svelte textured finish on the body. HDMI eARC, USB, Optical, Power, and a Sony TV exclusive TV Center channel port that can be plugged in adding the Sony TV’s speakers as additional center channel oomph. I have a Vizio TV, and it works flawlessly with it on eARC. That means that I can’t test the Center channel plug but I’m not sure what difference it would make as it already sounds so good. My TV can control the volume and input and vice-versa, making for a seamless setup and experience. The fact that it does so with only its own automatic optimizations and doesn’t have much in the way of a sound mixer is even more impressive to me. It keeps things simple and produces ultra-high quality sound without the user needing to spend much time making adjustments to the various channels. Hooking up my rear speakers and subwoofer were also extremely simple, literally only had to plug them in while the soundbar was powered one and they automatically synced up and started working. I can adjust the volume levels for the sub and rears, and they both produce a lot of additional sound for the system. Overall, I am super happy and impressed with this soundbar, and I love listening to it. By itself it was already top notch, and I am sure many would find it more than adequate. For the full experience, add the wireless subwoofer and rear surround speakers, they completely transform the sound it produces. I can’t recommend it enough.

In the box you get the Sony HT-A3000 soundbar, a power cable, an HDMI cable, a center speaker cable for a Sony TV, and a quick setup guide. First impression is that the soundbar looks and feels like a high quality device with a solid feel and nice weight for it’s size. At 38” wide, it is smaller than top of the line soundbars, yet it is wide enough to look like it belongs in front of my 65” tv. At 2 1\2” high it will fit under many tv’s, but unfortunately it did not fit under mine. Inputs/outputs are minimal. There is 1 HDMI eARC, 1 optical, 1 audio port and 1 usb. Setup was as easy as any device I have ever used. Just connect the HDMI cable to the ARC/eARC port on your tv, plug in the power cable and you are ready to go. The soundbar has digital buttons on the top for power, input, Bluetooth and music. It has a center speaker, 2 side speakers and 2 sub speakers with side vents. It will process DTS-X and Atmos, however there are no up firing speakers. Instead Sony creates virtual speakers with its 360 Spacial Sound Mapping. The mapping takes just seconds and the results are quite impressive. Sound seems to come from all over your room. But in order to do this you must add a set of wireless rear speakers which are not included. The soundbar on its own is good. Dialogue is very clear and the remote has a voice enhancement button which emphasizes the dialogue even more. By itself the soundbar would be good for a bedroom or a small den. With the addition of the rear speakers and an optional subwoofer the soundbar now becomes more appropriate for a medium sized den or master bedroom. I have mine placed in our master bedroom where we have a 65” tv that we had barely used. Now that we have the Sony HT-A3000 installed, we are watching tv in there much more often. The HT-A3000 also had Chromecast built-in and works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, allowing you to use your voice to power the soundbar and to cast music. The remote is small, but it has buttons for inputs and voice enhancement, as well as separate volume controls for the rear speakers and subwoofer. There is one quirk . You can’t play music without the tv coming on. Then if you use the Sony remote to turn the soundbar off, the TV stays on. Overall, this is an excellent soundbar especially when adding the optional rear speakers and subwoofer. Movie soundtracks fill the room and music is outstanding. I would highly recommend this to anyone for a medium sized den or master bedroom.

Very very nice simple system. I currently own a magnolia system brand starts with M ends with Z and I am running in ceiling and exterior speakers. I have owned over 10 AVR amps in the course of 10 years. This 3.1 system I reviewed came with a subwoofer and wireless rear speakers. So that bumped it up to a 5.1 system. Setup and firmware (OTA) was straight forward and all done in a matter of minutes. Spatial mapping was super easy. No need to setup using with a separate exterior mic. eARC worked great. I am running 4K OLED and no sync issues. The rear speakers set up was super quick. One complaint that I have with all Atmos systems is the yoyo affect. The center speakers don't do well with voice and you have to crank it up to hear dialog. Then you have to back them back down when action happens. I watched various movies from kid movies, and drama and the speakers all performed pretty good. Mounting options is easy. Simple 2 screws in the back. 2 possibilities. On base or shelf Use screws on wall These are Great set of simple speakers. Great sound bar for smaller rooms. I have owned several other sound bars and these are decent for smaller rooms and more compact spaces. Will probably use this in one of my bedrooms. I would recommend these speakers coupled with a subwoofer and rear speakers.

Pretty Good Sounding Bar That Needs Sub

let me start of saying I do enjoy this soundbar. I do not think it is bad its actually quite good and compared to a lot of soundbars on the market it beats them pretty handily. My issue is that you have to buy the subwoofer separately to really get the most out of it. And if you add the rear speakers you can have a complete system. But lets get bac to the bar, what I like about it first of the design is actually very nice. it looks really good and feels like a very well made premium device. Set up and installation is incredibly easy. took me about 5 minutes to get it up and running, and for watching tv shows the bar alone sounds great, watching movies it does pretty well especially with dialogue where it starts to struggle a bit is with the sound effects and explosions. it does an ok job with the built in subs but its nowhere near remote to what you get with a dedicated subwoofer. my only other complaint is using the bar with the eARC I have an issue that when I turn on the soundbar by casting some music from my phone it will turn on the tv and switch inputs to the tv. If I then turn off the tv it turns off the soundbar, If I then try casting again it will not turn on the tv. I can turn off the CEC feature but then when I turn off the tv I have to manually turn off the soundbar. hopefully a firmware update can fix this issue. I truly do like this soundbar as much as I complain about different issues here and there the spatial audio is pretty good but you definitely at least need the subwoofer to add that extra oomph when you watch movies especially.

    State-Of-The Art Soundbar Delivers

The Sony - HTA3000 3.1 ch Dolby Atmos Soundbar represents a stunning advance in audio engineering! This soundbar is ruggedly constructed - you recognize at first glance that this is a top quality instrument. As for appearance, it blends in with any OLED or LED TV. A fully capable remote is included with the HTA3000. Not the slimmed down, barely functioning remote that is standard with much lesser sound bars. Don’t let the fact that this is a 3.1 channel soundbar deter you from evaluating it. The sound quality is stunning & the vocal clarity is unmatched. Sony also offers an optional matching subwoofer & a pair of matching rear speakers, which enable you to purchase this soundbar at an excellent price today, then expand your theatre by adding floor shaking bass & 2 rear channels for a small cost addition at a later date. This HTA3000 Soundbar includes the greatest audio innovation in recent times: “360 REALITY AUDIO”. This explosion of precision audio must be heard to be believed! In short, it is a clear, hard hitting sound that has not been available prior to the invention of 360 Reality Audio. CONCLUSION: I have evaluated & reviewed many soundbars manufactured by various TV & Audio companies. None come close to the Sony HTA3000. It stands head and shoulders above the rest. I highly recommend it!

The Sony HT-A3000 is a 3.1-channel Dolby Atmos soundbar that delivers immersive and well-balanced audio, making it a great upgrade for home entertainment. With Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, it creates a spacious soundstage, though it lacks dedicated up-firing speakers, relying on virtual surround processing. The built-in subwoofer provides decent bass, but adding optional rear speakers or an external sub enhances the experience. ✅ Pros: Clear and immersive Dolby Atmos sound Built-in subwoofer for deeper bass Easy setup with HDMI eARC and Bluetooth Works well with Sony TVs for seamless integration ❌ Cons: No dedicated up-firing speakers for true overhead effects Bass is decent but benefits from an external subwoofer Premium price for a virtual Atmos experience Overall, a solid choice for those wanting enhanced home theater sound without a full surround system.

The Sony HT-A3000 delivers clear dialogue and rich, balanced sound in a sleek package. Its 3.1-channel setup and Dolby Atmos support create a wide soundstage, though the height effects are virtual rather than true overhead. Setup is quick with HDMI eARC, and it pairs seamlessly with Sony BRAVIA TVs. Bass is decent but lacks deep punch unless you add Sony’s optional subwoofer or rear speakers. With strong clarity, easy integration, and upgrade flexibility, it’s a great midrange choice for everyday TV, movies, and streaming. Pros: Crisp dialogue, clean design, expandability Cons: Limited bass, no true height speakers, single HDMI input

Thank you for sharing your incredibly detailed and insightful review of the HT-A3000 soundbar, JTBa!

We are delighted to hear that you are enjoying the core strengths of the A3000, particularly the clear dialogue and rich, balanced sound it delivers in such a sleek package. It's rewarding to know that our 3.1-channel setup and virtual Dolby Atmos are successfully creating a wide soundstage for your TV, movies, and streaming. We specifically engineered this soundbar for quick integration, so we're pleased to hear that the setup with HDMI eARC was smooth and the seamless pairing with your BRAVIA TV is providing a great user experience.

We also appreciate your honest and valuable feedback on the "Cons," specifically regarding the bass performance and height effects. You are absolutely correct: while the soundbar provides decent bass on its own, its design focuses on expandability and delivering a clear midrange. For users seeking that deep punch and true overhead immersion, adding one of our optional wireless subwoofers and rear speakers is the perfect way to unlock the system's full potential.

Thank you again for providing a thorough breakdown of the HT-A3000 as a "great midrange choice" with excellent clarity and flexibility.

Purchased this with the Sony x90k 65” tv. in Feb. It was a package price and well worth it! I waffled but then I added this to our order at the last minute because I just knew it would be an incredible upgrade. The sound quality blew me away the first time our installers demonstrated it, I could feel the sound just like in a theatre. No issues with the unit so far. Love Voice Mode. Dolby Atmos is awesome. I like that you can add the separate pieces if you want them but we love it on its own as we have a modest sized living room and don’t want to rock the neighbors. We love our tv and this elevates it even more. The way the tv legs adjust for a sound bar makes for a beautiful set up too. Thanks Sony and Best Buy

The sound bar is honestly been pretty great so far. Sound wise its clear and packs a decent amount of built in bass for music and youtube type content. The device was easy to setup, and it has a pleasing form factor. Only thing i find slightly frustrating about it is the streaming function for things like spotify dont have a sleep timer built in and the bluetooth will actively stayed connected after even with the sleep timer bullt in on my phone . But thats a small nitpick for a good product.

Love this soundbar! I replaced a relatively new Bose 600 SB that had trouble syncing with my Sony Bravia. This Sony SB is great for my room. It has a decent bass and the center tweeter is not tinny sounding as was the Bose. It doesn’t have the upward speakers but in my room that actually is a plus because it delivers great sound. The 360* spatial surround is awesome.

I purchased this particular model because I’m limited with space. It does a decent job and has solid range given its size. If you have the space, I’d suggest the 5000 or 7000 model for the true Atmos/up firing speakers. If you’re limited for space but have a healthy budget, shoot for the premium HTA 9 system. The HTA-3000 is fine, just spring for the added subwoofer & rear speakers.
