      Hi Tobi,

We regret to hear that you are not satisfied with the neckband speaker. Due to the characteristics of Bluetooth wireless technology, audio/music playback on the neckband speaker is slightly delayed in comparison to the playback on the source Bluetooth device. We can still perform some troubleshooting steps to further isolate and hopefully resolve this issue:

-Disconnect and reconnect the neckband speaker to your TV:
      https://helpguide.sony.net/ht/7861/v1/en/contents/TP1001309093.html

-Install the latest software version of the TV and the Neckband Speaker to improve their performance.

-Keep the neckband speaker away from a device, such as a radio or a tuner, a wireless LAN device, microwave oven or a device that generates electromagnetic radiation. Use of the neckband speaker in the vicinity of such a device may cause noise in audio from the device.

-Make sure there are no obstacles such as a person, metal, or wall between the neckband speaker and your TV.

As an alternative to Bluetooth connection, you can use wired connection (via the supplied audio cable) if your TV has a dedicated headphone jack and the ability to listen to TV speakers and headphones at the same time. Please refer to the specifications of your TV.

      Hi Philip,
Thanks for your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that you're having disconnection issues with your HT-AN7.
We're here to help and would be happy to provide some troubleshooting steps to get this resolved.

      1) Make sure your source device (phone, TV, etc.) supports the required Bluetooth profiles (A2DP for audio).

      2) Move the speaker and source device closer together and away from other wireless devices or metal objects that could cause interference.

      3) Delete the HT-AN7 from your device’s Bluetooth list, then re-pair by following the pairing instructions: With the speaker off, press and hold the power/Bluetooth button for about 2 seconds (for first-time pairing) or about 5 seconds (if it has previous pairings) until you hear a notification sound and the indicator flashes blue.

      4) Ensure your speaker and any related apps (such as Sony | Sound Connect) are updated to the latest version, as software updates can resolve connectivity issues. https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/speakers-wireless-speakers/ht-an7/software/00343894

      5) If the above steps do not work, initialize the speaker by following these instructions: https://helpguide.sony.net/ht/7861/v1/en/contents/TP1001309057.html

If you follow these steps and the issue persists, we strongly suggest you to contact our support team for further assistance. Find their contact information here: https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/support-contact?language=en_US&category=car

My initial experience was great, but halfway through my second song I started hearing random popping noises semi regularly. It doesn't sound like a blown speaker popping issue, but I think is related to the bluetooth connection. Needless to say have random popping noises semi regularly completely ruins the experience of using these and I'd be better off just listening on my phone speaker. Disappointing product.

The Sony Bravia theater you is a device that’s basically in a class by itself. I own three other wearable speakers, and to say this one is leaps and bounds better is an understatement. While the other devices still sound good, Sony elevates the category with sound processing the others lack. While it is a bit pricey for the typical consumer, I feel Sony did enough to add real value here. Unboxing and set up: In keeping with Sony being a premium brand, the unboxing experience gives the feeling that you’ve just purchased a high-end device. The unit itself has some heft, and the soft-touch plastics are a nice design choice. The package also includes two cables - a USB-A to USB-C charge cable that I think is entirely too short, and a 1/8th inch to USB-C cable for using this device with anything that has a headphone output (laptops, DACs, music players, portable gaming systems, and the like).. To fully take advantage of the 3D positional audio capabilities of the device, you’ll need the Sony Headphones Connect app for your smartphone. While I don’t mind an app for advanced settings, I do mind that I have to agree to 100 different things to use it, and then log in to save settings. Usage and sound quality: After initially charging the headset, setup is a breeze. It immediately paired to my iPhone 15 Pro, asked me to download the Sony Headphone Connect app. The app made pairing additional devices simple - I connected it to my Google TV device, my Nintendo Switch, and my Windows laptop. This is designed to allow two devices connected at once, so you can leave your phone paired while watching TV. I also used the analog audio cable, which was easy enough to use with the laptop. It was kind of on the short side, but was adequate for me. Bluetooth performance depends on the device and what you’re doing. I found that watching live broadcast TV with the Google TV device had some lag, but screaming was fine. Gaming on my phone, laptop, and Switch wirelessly all also had audio lag. This, unfortunately, is the drawback of Bluetooth. Analog mode fixes this. The real draw of this device is 3D positional audio. While it works well, it’s limited. You can use a few music apps on the iPhone side for 3D audio music, Tidal being the most common service. If you have a recent Sony Bravia TV, you also get Atmos-enabled audio from sources that support it. The only real drawbacks I see with the Bravia Theater U are the lack of full functionality across apps outside of those Sony picked for 3D positional audio and a lack of full features on more TVs. I’d like to see Apple Music and other music services, and the various streaming TV services that support Atmos be supported on phones, tablets, and even PCs and Macs. I’d also like to see more TVs supported, especially Google TV/Android TV devices since Sony’s TVs run Google TV/Android TV. However, the sum of the parts make the Sony Bravia Theater U the best wearable speaker I’ve ever used. I expect this to have a similar following to the original device in this category.

Hi Ramirezjose. We're sorry to hear that you've been encountering this issue with your HTAN7 that they would keep disconnecting and falling down, this is not the experience we want you to have. Kindly suggesting to make sure the HTAN7 is placed on a stable and level surface. Avoid surfaces that are prone to vibrations or movement. You might also try: checking if there's a software update available for the HTA-N7 and whether it addresses Bluetooth connectivity problems. Ensuring that the Bluetooth drivers or patches are up-to-date. Disabling any power-saving modes that might affect Bluetooth functionality. Thanks for choosing Sony. -Milton Sony_US

Comfortable, a little heavier than some others, but not by much. It’s worth it for the excellent sound. The Sony Bravia Speaker includes, U neck speaker, USB-C cable, dedicated audio cable, reference guide, and warranty information. Sony has a more detailed user manual on their website which is excellent and downloadable. The speaker is water resistant, but not waterproof. It’s resistant to rain and sweat but can’t be worn directly in water. To ensure the water resistance, the Sony Bravia Speaker’s charging port must be tightly covered with the attached cap for water resistance. Bluetooth is very easy to pair. So far, I have it paired with my smartphone, tablets (Amazon and iPad), TV, Sound Bar, and Stereo. It seems to me that if the electronic device has Bluetooth, the Sony Brava U Speaker and be paired with it. Specs: - Enjoy the Home Theater Sound for up to 12 hours without charging. - Built in microphone for hands free communication. - Adjustable design for comfort and long listening (can position on shoulders for the most comfort). - It only has one frequency band, 2.4Ghz which is all you need. The 2.4Ghz gives you a longer roaming distance than the 5.0Ghz. - The USB-C charging port is easily accessible on the outside of the speaker. - All buttons are also easily accessible and are raised to be able to find quickly. - The Sony Bravia neckband can be adjusted on the shoulders or neck for maximum comfort. The Sony Bravia U Neckband Speaker is perfect for sitting on the beach, backyard, anywhere you want to listen without disturbing others. The Sony Neckband Speaker was designed so that only the person wearing it can really hear it. Making it excellent for listening when other people are around. I’m enjoying the Sony Bravia Neckband to listen to my music, streaming services, and audio books without disturbing anyone around me. The closer the speaker is to your ears the lower the volume needs to be for excellent audio. I recommend the Sony Bravia Theatre U Speaker for comfort, clarity, length of listening time, and just personal enjoyment.

I have a lot of wireless Bluetooth audio options, and I’m always looking for new offerings that deliver sound in new, innovative and comfortable ways. The new Sony Bravia Theater U wearable speaker brings a new way to get portable, high-quality sound in a comfortable package. At $299, this is not an impulse buy, but it certainly offers an intriguing option in a world of “me too” earbuds. The Bravia Theater U is essentially a soundbar that wraps around your neck. Two chunky speakers hang down, one on each side of your neck, with a flexible, rubber coated neckband in between. The undersides are covered with a padded vinyl-like material, making them soft against your collarbone. On the inside of the right speaker, you’ll find the power/Bluetooth button and a mute button. On the inside of the left speaker, there are buttons for volume up/down and a center button for play/pause. All of the buttons are rubber coated, and the device has an IPX4 waterproof rating, meaning that it can handle the occasional splash if you’re wearing it while at the sink doing dishes. Setup and sound quality: Out of the box, the Theater U starts up in pairing mode. Find it on your phone’s list of available Bluetooth devices and you’re good to go. I already had the Sony Headphones app, and it instantly recognized the Theater U. Setting sound options, such as EQ was very easy – more on that later. Upon starting up the first song, I was immediately impressed with how good this thing sounds. Music was rich and full, with nice clean bass and crisp, clear high notes. In a direct comparison with a good set of earbuds, the Theater U lacked the immediacy of the earbuds, but the open air sound brings a different kind of ambience and sound stage that earbuds just can’t replicate. With earbuds, you’re always aware that you’re listening with something in your ears that’s trying to sound like a room full of speakers. With the Theater U, it actually is a set of speakers firing at your ears. It’s a subtle difference, but one that I really enjoy. What’s really nice is that you can listen to your music without being cut off from your surroundings. With so many open ear options available today, it’s nice to find one that doesn’t sacrifice sound quality in exchange for situational awareness. Watching TV with the Theater U: Sony markets this as wireless audio for watching movies or playing games at home. I’m not a gamer, but I was looking forward to using it with my Samsung QLED television. The Theater U paired easily with the TV, but when I chose to connect and listen through the Theater U, I experienced stuttering audio until it just quit trying. I unplugged and restarted the TV, but got the same result. After multiple tries, I gave up. Even changing the setting in the app to tell it to prioritize a stable Bluetooth connection didn’t make difference. It’s disappointing that the main use case for these is the one I can’t use. I might not have been surprised if I were using an off-brand TV, but this one is a major brand that’s only a few years old, so it should have worked. Theater U and working from home/phone calls: Having a dedicated mute button makes the Theater U into a portable speakerphone for working from home. I’m on conference calls all the time, and using the Theater U frees me from sitting in front of my computer and allows me to move around while staying connected. A simple press of the mute button on the right speaker toggles the microphone on or off. The excellent sound quality makes it easy to hear the participants on a call, and no one had any trouble hearing me as well. Using the Theater U as a hands-free speaker phone also works well. The speakers are comfortable enough to just keep wearing them all day to be ready when a call comes in. If all you want is a wearable speaker for calls and meetings, Sony’s NB10 wearable speaker is smaller, lighter and much cheaper, but is nowhere close to the sound quality of the Theater U. Using the app: The Sony headphones app continues to improve, and it works well with the Theater U. Multiple EQ options including 2 custom settings allow you to tweak the sound to your liking. Sony continues to partner with several providers to offer 360 Audio. I tried this and thought it was enjoyable, but not something I want to pay for. I did go through the Audio 360 setup, however, and thought it was interesting that Sony uses pictures of your ears to tune its sound output. Conclusion: Are these the wearable Bluetooth speakers for you? They boast excellent sound, are very comfortable and don’t require anything to be in your ears, and can serve as a great work from home mobile speaker system. The problem is that there are many wireless earbuds and headphones that can do the same thing and also allow you to use them for completely private audio in a coffee shop or while walking around the neighborhood. As a wearable speaker, they’re best suited for the home, and I can see how they would be great for a less invasive listening experience while watching a movie, but I wasn’t able to experience that for myself. Using it with Playstation 5 requires the use of a special cable that connects to the controller. That would eliminate any issues caused by Bluetooth, but the cable might be a little annoying. I’m not a gamer, but thought you should know. At $299, the Theater U is a little pricey for an audio device that really can’t be your go-to in all situations. If you just can’t stand having earbuds in your ears and aren’t happy with the other open-ear offerings, the Theater U is a great choice and sounds better than any other open-ear product available. If you’re a gamer or can use these with your TV, they provide a great audio experience that won’t disturb the whole house. Outside of these groups, it may be difficult to justify, but I am very impressed with the Theater U. They accomplish what Sony set out to do, and have improved greatly on past iterations.

I have to say, when I got this thing, I was a little skeptical about how it would sound. When I took it out of the box it felt like a solid and well built product. You have the speakers on each side and a stiff band in the middle that can be bent a little so you can mold it to the exact shape you need to have it sit comfortably around your neck. Pairing it is as easy as any other Bluetooth device. Just put it into pairing mode and then you can go into your TV settings and pair it with your TV. You could also pair this with a phone or something like that as well. The only problem around this step that I had is that the deice is black, the buttons are black, and the text above the buttons telling you that the buttons functions are were also in black. For someone a little older like myself without the greatest eyesight I had to get out a flashlight and reader glasses to be able to read what each of the buttons do. I found myself doing this multiple times till I eventually remembered where the buttons were and what their functions are. Would be nicer if the text was in white and at least an outline if the button in white so it would be easier to see and read. I know that’s a minor gripe, but it was definitely an annoyance to me. Once I got it turned on and paired, I just put on a TV show to hear what these sounded like. I have to say, the first time I heard these, I was pretty blown away at how good they sounded! I wasn’t expecting the kind of full sound and rich bass out of such a small unit. It literally sounded like you had a high-end sound bar strapped to your head! It also said that these were Dolby Atmos capable as well. So I fired yup an action movie in atmos and I was blown away yet again. The sound was literally encompassing the space all around my head. I was hearing things above me, behind me, on each side. The sound was coming from everywhere! For TV and movies, this is an amazing device! Next, I put on some music. I know that regular sound bars have a hard time playing regular music and having it sound amazing, and this was no different. It sounded good, but just not the same as having a full stereo system. Id compare it to the sound quality of a mid-range set of earbuds when it comes to listening to music. This also has a microphone in it so you can connect it to your phone for calling, or using it while you are gaming as well. I tried it with a phone call and while I couldn’t hear how I sounded, the person I was talking to said my voice was coming across crystal clear and sounded great. They kind of bill these as a way to quietly watch TV and get that full sound without disturbing others. But anyone around you will definitely be able to hear what is coming through the speakers. Its not blaring loud, but you wouldn’t be able to have a private phone conversation with other people in the room. One other caveat I have to mention is that these do not move when you move your head. So if you turn your head slightly to one side or the other, you will get louder sound out of one ear. This might also be a problem if you sit off to the side of your TV regularly and have your head turned slightly. Its not a huge issue, but something I wanted to mention. Overall, I found these very comfortable to wear. After a few minutes you don’t even feel them on. I had no problem watching hours of TV and having them remain comfortable. The sound quality, you really have to hear to believe, it is fantastic for what these are! I would highly recommend these for anyone looking for a quieter way to watch TV without annoying those around you too much (especially at night time) or even for someone who is a little hard of hearing, these would also be great for. They are also better than ear buds or headphones because you are still able to hear everything that is going on around you, which is another plus! I would say, give them a try and i'm sure you will be as amazed by the sound as I was!
