Failed in a few months

Owned for 4 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my mom after a Sony rep(which I thought was a BestBuy employee until I found out later it wasn’t) in the store pushed it pretty hard. Unplugged it from the eARC cable once to move it and then the tv didn’t recognize it anymore. Tried it on other tvs and still isn’t recognized so unplugging it one time somehow stopped it from working. Bought the extended warranty through bestbuy and had to send it off for repair which is gonna take a month or more. Definitely stay away, Sony has been nothing but a disappointment with their electronics for me.

Not good

I know that getting one with a built in Subwoofer is not going to blow you away, but this was only slightly better than the speakers on the tv I bought. The other issue that is very annoying is that it continues to lose connectivity to the tv, resulting in me having to do a complete factory reset to get the soundbar to reconnect to the tv. I would expect this from a cheaper brand, but not Sony. That's why I bought it. Overall, I would not recommend.

I was hopeful for something better.

I was hopeful that it would sound much better than the built-in tv sound. It was negligibly better. The Edifier bookshelf speakers make a better 'soundbar' for almost the same price. eARC is a nice benefit.
