If you ever had experience using Sony Over the ear noise cancelling headphones, you would not be disappointed in these LinkBuds S earbuds. They are small, and charge inside the case. If you make sure you have a solid seal between your ears and the earbuds with a snug fitting silicone tips, you will enjoy deep base, clear highs, and pleasing mids. All of which are customizable using the included Sony app. The impressive thing is that the app unlocks three modes that the LinkBuds can function, noise canceling, ambient sound, and off. Noise canceling blocks out all the low frequency hums and does a pretty good job of producing near silence. As with any noise canceling headphones, certain high frequency sounds can make it through. All customizable through the app. With Ambient noise, the built in mics allow outside sound to come through, depending on how much you want to come through. This is wear the app is very important in unlocking the capabilities of the LinkBuds S. One option that the LinkBuds S has is to automatically pause the music when you begin talking. After a certain amount of time the music source will begin again. There are a ton of other features that I really haven't tried but if you want to mix between noise canceling and ambient sound, there is a feature to adaptively switch between the two depending on your environment. There is also a feature where the app will analyze the shape of your ears and optimize 3D spatial sounds with certain apps. Overall, if you are looking for the Sony Over the Ear Noise Cancelling performance but want them in a compact, easily to travel ear bud, you cannot go wrong with these LinkBuds S from Sony.

That was about all they did correct. For a 200 dollar pair of buds, these are terrible. Issues: 1. If my phone left range of the earbuds when they were not in use, they would not connect. The app would just spin on connecting and I would have to restart my phone when I wanted to use anything on the app. 2. Several times I put them in my ear and 1 or BOTH earbuds did not work. To resolve it I had to put them back in and start again, and hope the App (which is not good) would connect. I had to try them before I started my activity to make sure I was not without music in one or both ears. 3. The app does not allow you choose the options for the touch controls. There are three canned options and you get to pick two. I would NOT suggest based on the usage issues that anyone I know purchase these and they are getting returned.

I love that we can equalize the sound with the app, and the options between sound cancelling and noise ambience are my favorite part!

With the extra small tips, these are perfect! I like that the noise canceling still lets in a little ambient sound, since I use these when walking. I use mostly for listening to audiobooks, but sometimes also like to listen to music while I'm walking. Has a couple great features, including that they automatically pause the book/music when it detects conversation. No longer do I need to fumble to pause my iPod when someone asks me a question or I need to say something. I also like that you can use the app to customize the touch controls on each ear bud separately.

That precisely is what the selling point of the new Sony Linbuds S is! The adaptive sound is AMAZING. Only thing is you need to use one of the music services that are able to provide that crazy good sound! Wow it is sick how good they sound… Initially I did not opt to try out the service (even if there is a free trial code provided). I just have a hard time moving away from my Apple Music playlists. Maybe I’ll try in the future. Out of the box the earbuds worked great. Very easy installation just take a picture and bam! It takes you to an installation website. Take the buds out of their case and my iPhone finds them right away. Sound. Much much better not even close to my apple Gen 2 AirPods, and different but also very similar to my Gen 3. What it has over the Gen 3 is comfort. Different sized earbud tips. Still shocked that apple decided to increase the size of the Gen3, I find them uncomfortable at times after long use exercising. That won’t be a problem with the Sony. So to me sound is equal to the Gen 3, but much better then the Gen 2 AirPods. Are you concerned that they will fall out while you exercise? Don’t be they fit very snug with a great design! Battery? I didn’t test but they are supposed to provide fast charge and last for 6 hours, not counting the case quick charge. Wow. Very well built and something I can see being my new favorite or at least sharing that distinction with my AirPods Gen 3. They can be used with my Nintendo OLED Switch and are really an excellent product

The only thing is that occasionally the right bud doesn’t sense my finger to pause/play music and I have to take it out and put it back in to fix the problem

Apart from that, this is a good set of TWS. Fits my ear very well and does not fall out during normal day to day activities. The battery life is disappointing. I think the firmware update killed the battery life. Hope they can rectify this in the next update. ANC is not the best, but OK. Touch response and App settings are great.

Sound quality is good and they fairly comfortable to use for extended time. Very comfortable, paired very well with my TV, and the noise reduction worked perfectly and was easy to switch on and off. Unfortunately, the charging case has gotten wacky and I’m now getting less than 2 hours usage from the buds before I have to recharge them. Even after sitting on the charger overnight, as soon as I pull the first bud out of the case, the light on the case turns orange, indicating less than full charge. Then the left bud dies in about an hour and a half, with the right bud dying soon after. I have to say, I really expected better from Sony and I’m now going to replace these with some Bose. It’s a shame.

Tried different size inserts but still happens. I wish the Bluetooth was more stable but tends to break up at relatively close distance compared to my Samsung buds +. Would recommend buying only if on sale which is what I did... Otherwise not worth the hefty price

No problems, battery of the earbuds and the case lasted a long time. Slowly over time the battery life dwindled which is expected then I accidentally put them through the wash and bought a new pair. This new pair felt like a downgrade, I've had to charge the case every other day where before i could charge it once a week and be fine. The sound is the same, the fit is the same but it just feels like a nuisance to have to charge the case so much. Sure I still like them but I'll reminisce on how it was with that first pair.

I replaced them under warranty less than a year after my purchase. The second pair worked well until the year mark and the left airbud did the same thing as the first pair. I had to switch to another brand that didn't malfunction after a year, especially for the amount I paid for them. Pro: As someone with small ears, these fit my ears perfectly.

Comfortable and Good Sound

Other than that, these are comfortable and the noise cancelling (on the rare occasion that I turn it on, it drains battery even worse) is very effective for the price.

Sony needs to really really allow people the control to custom program the touch controls. Cheaper buds like galaxy buds can do this. Stuck with their pre programmed weirdness. 3. Why no wireless charging , Sony? This costs 200 bucks. Pros: Everything else.

When you want to play back music with LDAC, set the sound quality mode to “Priority on sound quality” using the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. However, when you play audio with LDAC, data transmission volume increases. If you are not satisfied with the sound interruption caused by this, set the Bluetooth Connection Quality to Priority on Stable Connection. Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The noise cancelling plus the fit have come in real handy when I’m trying to focus on anything physical but after some sweat comes into play the ear pads start slipping off maybe I need to try a bigger size but when I did the test it said that the ones I had one were good size. Regardless come in handy and are barely noticeable when on.

Since you've already select the right size earbud tips that fits your ears, please make sure to wear the earbuds properly to prevent it from slipping off your ears. Gently pull up on the top of your ears, put the earbud tips in your ear canal, and then twist the earbuds into place. This makes sure the earbuds are firmly in the ear canal. Great but with one caveat.

The magnetic case is not strong enough to securely hold the earbuds and I lost mine because the case opened and the earbuds fell out.

They would either fall out or they would hurt after wearing them for 20-30 minutes. I've tried them all - Samsung (multiple styles), apple, Bose - none worked for me. I bought these expecting them to not work either... But they do! They stay in my ears and I can wear them as long as I want with no issues. I only wish they worked with wireless charging.
