The sound was horrible and the material itself looked too cheap.

Uncomfortable hard plastic on your head and not the greatest quality; however not bad for $50.00. I did expect better from Sony though.

It plastic squeeked out of the box and it may have softened the noise but did not cancel. Noise canceling from $40 headphones? Come on not close to my Bose qc35. Dont buy these and they hurt your ears.

    Sounds good, not comfortable

Sounds fine for basic use around the house, lightweight, look good, compact. They are not comfortable, no padding on the head band just a piece of hard plastic. At first it didn't bother me but after a few hours it was bothersome. Returning these for the next model up.

Ear cups cover material flaking away!

Pack small, light, and works great on airplanes. Bought them 3 years ago for a long flight and was very pleased. Had another long flight this year Performances were still very good for the price, but the set was completely unusable because the ear cup cover material decomposed. There were little plastic flakes all over my ears, shirt, seat and flight blanket. Good product dying because of poor material. I live in a hot and humid climat, it may do better in colder/drier conditions. Interestingly, I had bought these to replace an older pair of Sony's , even smaller but older technology, that lasted many years but ended up with the ear cup material delaminating. But at least got to use these on several flights, not so with the MDRZX110NC. . Seems to be a recurring issue with Sony's. Disappointed.

The quality of the sound is very good and it does a very good job of cancelling extraneous noises. They didn't have a sample of this one to try on at the store. I didn't think it would be as heavy as it is and the plastic band is not very comfortable. The band set at the smallest size is a little big for my head. I solved the size and comfort issues by wrapping a strip of soft, black material around the band. Overall for the price I'm happy with it.

Noise cancelling is good, sound quality is great as expected for a Sony product. For the price compared to other headphones, these will do the job. Note that the build quality is not super--they are made out of plastic, but adequate. Just don't expect to be very rough with these headphones while jogging or running or going to the gym. Overall, the product does what it does and is good value for the price. Higher priced headphones may offer superior noise cancelling and sound, but these Sony ones are adequate.

These headphones have decent sound but the dynamic range is much better when you turn on the noise canceling function. Remember to turn it off, though, when done because it eats through AAA batteries. The over-the-ear cushions are comfortable but the hard plastic headband becomes painful in short order on the top of my head. Your mileage may vary. The one thing I really despise about these headphones is almost every time a lay them down on my desk, it pushes the battery-cover-release button so the battery cover pops off. Really a poor design.

My wife got these for me for Christmas and while I like them, I wish some things were different. It would be great is the ear pieces were padded a little. The hard plastic is uncomfortable sometimes. I do like the fact that they are always on. There's a switch to make them louder, but even with the switch off, you can hear the audio just fine. Other headphones I had, had to be turned on each time I used them and turned off when I was done. I like this better. So, all in al, I like the headphones, just wished for some padding.

I used these headphones for a day before returning them. They feel flimsy, are made out of a very cheap plastic and are incredibly uncomfortable. They're on the ear as opposed to over the ear so I couldn't bear to use them for anything over an hour. The sound quality is sub-par at best. I usually love Sony products but I used these once and immediately repacked them. They just feel cheap. I'd say save up and spend a bit more for a pair of quality headphones that leave your ears begging for more. Bose may be overpriced and overrated but all in all, their headphones are still the absolute best. Just my opinion!

I was surprised to find noise-canceling headphones for $50, especially with Sony's name on the side. As someone who has owned Bose noise-canceling headphones for many years, I wanted to get my 11 year old daughter some noise-cancelling headphones for her trip across the country. I didn't want to spend Bose-like money as she takes care of things about as well as most 11 year olds. I figured these were Sony, so although my expectations weren't that great due to the low price point, I figured they wouldn't be too horrible. Well, I was wrong. These are obviously re-labled junk headphones that Sony puts their name on in order to have an entry-level product. Complete garbage. I wouldn't be exaggerating to say they're of similar quality to the "free" earbuds some of the airlines give you. They really are that bad. Garbage plastic, garbage wiring, terrible sound, just junk all around. I'm actually surprised Best Buy would stock these in their store. I expect a certain level of quality when I think of Best Buy.
