Very high quality surround sound, love the 3D option. Mic was amazing however the comfort was not so friendly. Thick earpads will get your ears sweaty and intense after prolonged gameplay

I got the Sony Platinum headphones to replace an older model that the lining wore off of, and they are a major upgrade. They don't squeeze my ears as much as I thought they would, and the Virtual Surround Sound mode is awesome. I was considering purchasing a surround sound system for the tv my PS4 is attached to, but I just might use these instead and save some money.

I was looking for a good wireless headset for my PS4 and decided to go with the ones made for the PS4. The sound quality is great with these... Clear highs and plenty of bass. Only negatives are that you have to turn the mic down on the PS4 because its sooo sensitive and they hurt my ears after wearing them for about an hour or two. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy this headset!

Ok so I have Sony Gold headset and I'm comparing it against the gold. For the price I was expecting a better headset quality and sound. Sound is on par with gold, nothing special. The 3D only works with certain games so it's useless. The headset feels very flimsy. The arm that bends near the cups feel like it's gonna break after a couple months of use but I'm not keeping it long enough to find out. The ear cups presses really bad on your ears. I used it for 4 hours of game play and I had the worst ear ache and I never have ear aches. So I returned it the next week. It's certainly not worth the money. Maybe $75 but that's still pushing it. For now I'm sticking with Gold and maybe I'll go and buy Astro A50 Wireless but the reviews kinda bothering me. I don't wanna be disappointed after spending $300 to find out it's a pos

A definite improvement from the PlayStation Gold Headset. Better sound quality, a sturdier design being made of metal and not so much plastic, and the mic quality is much improved. A bit pricey at $200, maybe for a bit cheaper this would be amazing. Slightly uncomfortable, with my ears getting hot after extended use, but that could just be me. Also, the 7.1 surround sound is on point and definitely makes a difference when I'm gaming. Overall, I'm satisfied.

I got these on sale for 120.00 at Bestbuy. The look and feel of them is premium. They fit comfortably over my head and around my ears. Sound quality depends upon what your listening to. Most games sound great but Battlefield takes the cake. You really feel like your in the game. The battery life is great and they sync easily to the PS4. They also come with a cord to plug them into other devices to listen to.

I bought this headset when it first came out, after the New Year, and I regret it on all levels. For a Sony product, even though it has bass boost, it's really poor and doesn't even come close to Turtle Beach. It doesn't boom at all. The headset it really only designed to fit a small head. If you have a medium head or bigger, forget it. These things will clamp your skull like you're in a vice. After only playing for 30 min, your head hurts and that pain is like a lingering headache. In addition, it really traps in all the heat because of the over the ear and fake leather covering on the ear pieces. So now you have discomfort from squeezing your head and you're overheating. I have to take Tylenol after playing with these. What you get, the price is way too high. They should be in the $75 range at very best. They are solid and good overall heavy duty quality, but the sound is lacking, even after you mess around with all of the different sound profiles through the app you download. Controls are ok but they are located on the back edge. It would be more convenient to put controls on the outside of the headphones for easy location. They sync pretty fast with the PS4 and PC, which is good. So, definitey choose any other product out there because this one is not worth it. Been using them for months and I wish I could get my money back.

First off, I'm an avid gamer, teetering between casual and hardcore. This headset will be compared to the older (much older) Playstation Gold headset (PS3 7.1 Surround) as that is what I'm "upgrading" from. If you have a functioning Gold Headset (either PS3 or PS4) then this headset is not a worthwhile upgrade, but if you don't have one then I do definitely recommend this one. Pro's: - Aesthetically pleasing, an almost timeless design. Although this is subjective. It also doesn't look as bulky and ridiculous as the PS3 Gold's when worn. - The sound quality is a step above the PS3 Gold's, more crisp although not a demonstrative difference. 3D audio is pretty amazing (yet very few games make use of it) - The buttons are slick and take a minute to get used to without having to pull off the headset and look at them. - The over-ear cups drown out any outside noise and feel good on the skin. - The battery life is slightly longer than the PS3 Golds. I'd say 45min to an hour but I have yet to actually test this. - Works for my PC (only Stereo tho) - The range is decent, about 10-15 feet through one wall. Like 5 feet if signal is through two walls. My set up is in the living room and I have no issues grabbing drinks or snacks behind a single wall without any drop in sound connectivity, though the story changes when I go use the bathroom. - Comes in a neat box. I always put my headset back in the box when not in use, I'm definitely not leaving these laying around my house when there are kids running about. Con's: - Needs a dongle to be used (Just like the older iterations) - I'd give comfort a 7/10. There is no real adjustability, the headset just has a "one size fits all" clamp style design. This has been the same design for all the headsets. Over 2 hours of use then I start to get pain on my ears, but just taking it off for a minute or two relieves this. - Gets my ears hot. If it's warm in your room, these will make you sweat. I tend to switch to some skull candy earbuds when this happens. This is a case to case basis I assume. - Price. Good Lord was this thing expensive ($172 US after taxes) I could have spent a bit more and grabbed a pair of used Astro A40's with a mixer for that price. But the Astro's make my ears sweat regardless of the ambient temps. Overall, if you don't already have a headset, these are awesome, a little on the pricey side but if you can get a couple hundred hours of use from them then it's not a big deal. If you already have a headset, either (good) Turtle Beaches, Astro, older PS golds, or any other good sets, just save your money to buy more games.
