The only thing I don't like about this headset is that the volume is subpar. The chat volume exceeds the game volume and it's hard to listen to them both at the same time.

So I purchased this headset about 2 months ago after owning a Playstation Gold headset (1st gen) Pros: Louder than Gold, AUX input gives flexibility, PC use via bluetooth, Customizable audio modes, battery life pretty good. Cons: Sometimes TOO loud; mic is always picking up little audio if volume is maxxed. Hurts my head after a few hrs, particularly on top.

The sound is loud but the quality isn't as clean and crisp as what I'm used to from Turtlebeach or Astro for fps games. It's decent for the price though.

This headset is ok. I did notice that it could be louder, especially for the price. It feels good on the ears!

I purchased these for my husband as a gift. He loves them. The gameplay sound is releastic and theres minimium background noise. When thr little ones are running around he don't hear them which we can have a pretty loud house.

It works pretty well. I'm not completely satisfied with the volume buttons and would prefer more volume levels. Also there seems to be a popping sound that happens occasionally that I can't believe happens. Pretty annoying

I've had the headphones for a few weeks now, but only been able to use them a few times as my 45 day old PS4 had software issues from the day I opened it. When I did use the headphones they sounded great, my only issues were that the range is extremely short, outside of the living room and connected kitchen they don't work. They also don't have a movable microphone, so if I eat or drink anything, regardless of what it's, it's very loud for everyone else in the party. However they are easy to mute but that doesn't work in a game.

The gold series is far better. Did not deliver on anything that was claimed. Still no bass and not enough volume. They dropped the ball on this one.

Tried a couple pairs of the lower cost TB Stealth 600 before settling on these. Yes, I tried a couple because with the first set, the volume was way too low; usable when turned to 3/4 of the range, but I did not feel it should be that way. Turning on "super human hearing" amplified the sound level, but overpowered the foreground sounds. Second pair was the same way, so not a product defect. Thank you Best Buy for your liberal return policy. The Sony headset, while not perfect, is infinitely better than the 600's for my use with PS4 Pro gaming. Not quite as comfortable (as a lot of reviewers mention), and buttons take some getting use to, but the surround sound (Horizon-Zero Dawn) is thumbs up. Have not sampled chat capabilities. I really like being able to customize low, medium, and high tones with the downloadable app. Wish I had started with these.

    Unbiased Sony Platinum Review

Whoever designed The Sony Platinum Headset button configurations did a lousy job. Whenever I wear these headphones I have to physically remove them off my head or spend time remembering the layout of the buttons/controls making this experience alone frustrating. There's also no mic monitoring. You cannot hear your voice, through the headset. You find yourself shouting or talking lower because you cannot hear yourself. I downloaded the new presets. However I'm having a hard time hearing major differences between Drake uncharted 4 and the others. The differences appear very minimal. When I settled on the drake these headsets sound very loud and clear. Advice? Make your next wireless set with mic monitoring. Simplify the button configurations, add Bluetooth, and you may have a new clear cut winner in the headphone war.

I was excited that they finally came out with a new headset. I figured maybe they'd resolved some issues the ps gold had (ie: hinges breaking, battery life, range). I figured maybe they'd listen to their customers and offer something we'd all enjoy... I was wrong, I regret upgrading to these. My PS Gold headset was honestly better in many aspects. Yes the bass isn't great, yes the simulated surround isn't great but it just worked. Simple plug it in and it worked (most of the time) With this headset I've had multiple issue with disconnection and microphone not working. I've tried repairing them, shutting them off and on but I usually have to remove the usb adapter and reinstall it to get them to work. This is my experience on the PS4 Pro, i'm not sure if others are having similar issues. The audio is a little better, the mic isn't really any better and the volume is fairly low compared to ps gold. The only mode the volume seems to be loud enough in is the Uncharted setting. The PS gold had it's short comings but overall more reliable than these. I prefer my ASTRO A50 sound quality but it's a hassle switching from optical to hdmi when I want to take advantage of my sound system. Maybe they'll get better, but right now i'm not impressed.

I got one and I'm happy with it, I'd prefer more pronounced buttons and I'm still getting used to figuring which does what without looking, but this is the headset that was actually made for your PS4, unlike many others I've tried (Logitech, steelseries Arctis 7, etc) I had turtle Beach stealth 400 before and the build quality was trash from the start but the sound quality was fine and it did what was important to me, separate game and chat volume. It started bugging out on me and I said I definitely wasn't getting another TB so I was trying out other wireless headsets to see if they can fit my needs even if they're really made for PC. They can't. This one can as it's made for the PS4, and even tho it doesn't advertise it enough it does have a game/chat balance where I can fully mute one or the other. Just mute master volume if I want to mute both. And I was concerned if I'd still be heard clearly without a boom mic in my face, my friends say they have no problem hearing me so all my fears about this headset were allayed. I only don't like that the mics are on the same side as the clicky buttons... Everybody doesn't need to hear me adjusting my volume. . TL;DR Pros and Cons Pros: Great audio. Comfortable fit. On screen indicators with PS4, unlike all other non Sony headsets. Chat/game volume balance, can completely mute game audio or chat audio when you want. Great build quality. Mic is clear enough according to my friends, couldn't tell I was on a new headset without a boom mic in my face. Cons: Mics are situated on the very same ear cup as the buttons, so my friends will hear every time I adjust my volume or about to mute my mic. Buttons and not wheels. Only indication of a muted mic is behind my ears, or an on screen indicator that disappears after 5 seconds. Not as much range as other headsets I tried, can't go to my kitchen with them anymore. And this maybe nitpicking but having to select All Audio with these means I can't use them and have spectators in my room hear too, since nothing will be coming from the tv
