Grandkids love this but it has an almost invisible on-off button and dvd release button. Also takes long time to get warmed up and shut down which has to be done properly or unit could loose info on drive.

Fastest console out there until the X1X comes out, and the best way to play all the PS4 exclusives. Power and eject buttons are annoying.

My over 65 husband happy with this console. Only issue is the on and off button and game eject button. You need a magnifying glass to locate it.

Coming from an early PS3 that was a beautiful machine to a PS4 Pro can be a bit alarming at first but who buys these things because of how they look? The system works great and runs far quieter than the old PS3. My only complaint is the buttons (power, eject) on the front are hard to find in low light.

The power button is no longer touch activated, but a physical button that feels cheap and mine does not work. When I press the power button it does nothing and I must use the controller for on and off, but the next time I turn the ps4 on nothing shows up on the tv. This forces me to unplug it giving me a warning message for improperly turning it off and makes me worry the system will have problems in the future.

The difference in graphical quality is nearly impossible to see without a side by side comparison. I wanted a second console so Id have one for bedroom and the new machine in the living room. I notice a significant difference in load times, both for the console itself and games, though the drop down menus (like tv/video) take a lot longer to fill out, they were effectively instant on the older PS4 model, slightly annoying but really just ~2 seconds you're losing when you want to turn on netflix. The power and disc buttons are horrible and stupid. I regularly ask house guests to see if they can find the buttons and there's a lot of failing - even from standard ps4 owners, . The icons are essentially invisible in anything other than full light and as weird tab-style buttons they feel flimsy - clearly a visual design choice over something thats ergonomic at all. The most inconvenient/anoying thing about this console is that when I switch back and forth with the other PS4, I have to restart applications - Netflix, even just switching my output from TV to TV in the same room. My complaints are basically superficial and I love the machine. If you already own a PS4 and dont want multiple rooms hooked up without shifting, I dont think its worth it.

full disclosure: i've been XBOX since long ago. I bought this ps4 purely for the purpose of playing Overwatch with my PS4 friends. I figure if I was going to take the PS4 Plunge, I should get the newest shiniest because of the promise of VR. my only real issue is that the the controller has a couple of recessed buttons that my fat fingers can't activate. i've a 4-k tv, but I really don't see a difference between the xboxOne and the PS4Pro, but i'm sure that's not the TV's fault.

Was not sold yet on making the upgrade from regular PS4 to PS4 Pro. Decided to go for it and glad I did. See a difference in performance. Game I am most impressed with is The Last of us Remastered. This game looks amazing with upscale and HDR. One thing I don't like though is the placement of the disc eject button but no biggie as most future games I will do a digital purchase.

I had a bad feeling about this so I backed up all my saved data to PS Plus cloud. Finally I couldn't get anything to charge at all so I figured desperate times call for desperate measures. I formatted my HDD. When prompted to connected a DS4 controller via USB cable press PS button I did, but the PS4 would not recognize this happening. My DS4 would just blink like a lost child looking for her parents. I had to contact Sony PS4 support to have the system serviced (Aug 17). 5 days to get a box shipped to me via FedEx, 3 days for the Sony PS4 service depot to receive my PS4 Pro, they had it for about 2 or 3 days, another 4-5 days to ship it back to me. I get the system home, the DS4 controllers are charging now, when prompted to connect DS4 via USB then press PS button... same lonely blink looking for mom, the PS4 Pro is not even seeing the DS4. Tried multiple USB cables, 2 DS4 that I know work (they both work on my PSTV no prob). Tried 2 different HDDs in the PS4 Pro. Tried holding the button down for 15 secs on the back of the DS4, nothing is working. Contacted Sony PS support again, same day I got it back from service. Let them know the bad news. It was about a 40 min conversation w/ some troubleshooting. Now I've another service in place to have this PS4 Pro shipped back in. I asked but no, they cannot expedite shipping the box so it will be another 5 days until I get the box. Even though I still have the original service box they cannot just get me a new shipping label, I've to wait for a new box with a new shipping label. I understand problems happen right, but for me to get this thing back from service and have it not work this is easily the worst experience I've had all year with a high end expensive product.

I grabbed the PS4 Pro because I did not have a PS4 yet. Primarily I purchased at this time to play Horizon Zero Dawn, but have also picked up Until Dawn, and downloaded Let It Die. I still am playing on 1080P and everything looks great; while I still have the option of later moving to 4K when I upgrade the TV. I do not notice any noise from the console, and it is in an open entertainment shelf about 7 feet away, right under the TV. Connecting it up was easy, from the included HDMI cable to the wireless network built in for Internet connectivity. The controller is comfortable; where before my hands would cramp up sometimes with the PS2 controllers. Seems like small incremental changes paid off with the PS4 dual shock. If anything, my only complaint in the front buttons blending in a bit too much making them hard to find or determine function; all for the sake of aesthetics.

Since launch day of the first PS4 I held back on purchasing it, not because I am an Xbox fan, but at the time there were not that many exclusives for the PS4 that truly captured my attention; the exclusives at the time were not 'Console sellers'. I waited until something came around or enough Japanese tittles piled up that interested me to purchase the PS4. The years went by and the time for the PS4 Pro was suddenly upon us. Like before, I did not purchase it right away. Horizon Zero Dawn was the game that made me want to purchase this console and the upcoming title of 'Days Gone'. Initial Pros: - Graphics are slightly better than expected, but are not 'game changers' by any means. - Looks sleek compared to my bulk Xbox One (Day One Edition) - Smooth gameplay if you opt for performance and not graphics in the game's menu Initial Cons: - Battery life on the controller is rather short, I get approximately 4 - 6 hours max of gameplay out of one full charge. I hear that is about average, but I get at least twice that much on my Xbox One controller. - In game audio stutter. I don't know if this is just my controller, but no matter what headset I use, I cannot get rid of this in game audio stutter. It does not happen all the time, but it does happen enough to be annoying; also, when this happens, the controller seems to slightly loose connectivity with the PS4 Pro cause a slight lag in the response of button input. Overall I am pleased with y purchase and don't regret it. I will be going into Best Buy to see if they can do anything concerning my controller.

Original ps4 owner that decided to upgrade here. I was really excited for my pro, and upon receiving it I was not disappointed. The outer hardware itself sports a new shell casing design that's both modern and minimalistic, and is a small but nice departure from previous iterations of the OG PS4. The hard drive latch has been moved to the rear of the console and you no longer have to feel like youre about to tear apart the casing whenever you want to upgrade or swap the internal hdd. Pop an ssd in and you'll be in for a nice ride. Buttons on the console itself were moved a bit and are smaller, ive had trouble finding them in the dark. It comes with a new controller which is sleeker and has a new touchpad light, but all in all nothing too special. Of the pro itself, the new internal specs are pretty impressive and when put to use, whether for stable 60fps, 4k and hdr, or both, it makes the upgrade extremely worth it. @@@@@@@@ e.g. Rachel and Clank and Tomb Raider look GREAT). In order to access these you have to go to each games settings menu to toggle off compatibility mode and turn on the pro support - whatever that game's features are. My only gripes are the fact that only a handful of such titles are currently supporting this feature since the ps4 pro is so new. 2017 going forward, however, all titles under the platform are expected to require pro support. I would recommend having a 4k TV with HDR to get the most out of the ps4 pro, although you can still get some of its benefits with a 1080p.
