Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the PlayStation 5's exceptional graphics, immersive controller with haptic feedback, quiet operation, fast performance, and reasonable price. However, they also express concerns about the limited storage space, large size of the console, occasional bugs, and the user interface that could use some improvements.

I waited to post my review until I had time to really sit down with this console and not let my excitement contaminate a true review. After playing consistently for over a week now I can truly say that this has been an eye opening taste into what the next gen console can do. Between the duelsense’s haptic feedback to ultra fast load times, PlayStation refuses to make you wait long to have a memorable experience day after day. The console might be big but with it it comes an even bigger and better experience. It runs quiet and cool and always leaves you with a lasting excitement that keeps you counting down to the next time you can grab the controller and jump right in.

Really a great system! Only gripe would be the little storage it has. Best Buy also didn’t take care of the packaging very well. Everything is working very fast and smooth. It’s quiet except every now and then the fan will kick on for a few seconds then go back to being silent. Love watching 4K Blu-ray’s and playing my backlog of ps4 games right now better then ever. The game included, Astros play room is a fun nostalgic title on PlayStations history. Looking forward to seeing some ps5 titles that really show what the console can do. The new dual sense controller is very nice and I easily got accustomed to it.

Pros: - Graphics for PS5 games are insane. It's not a minor upgrade from the PS4, it's a major upgrade. - Graphics for some PS4 games are enhanced when played on the PS5. Off the top of my head, Ghosts of Tsuhima, Last of US II, Horizon Zero Dawn look much better, crispier, and run at better frame rates than on the PS4. - Load times are super quick. - Official Sony accessories are top notch. - Backward compatible with every PS4 title I own. Cons: - This thing is the size of a Mini Cooper. Seriously, it's huge. Weighs more than a Mini Cooper.

Was lucky enough to get a PS5 on launch day, and it’s absolutely amazing. The load times are super fast, graphics are beautiful, gameplay is so smooth. The new controller is fantastic! I love the pressure sensitivity on the triggers, really makes the gameplay that much better. The console and controller are so beautifully designed, I’m in awe every time I look at them. I haven’t had any issues with my console. It’s very quiet. Took me a while to get used to the interface but that’s not a big deal. Overall I’m so happy with my purchase. Can’t wait for more next gen games!

I've had my PS5 for about 3 years and I still find it to be a fantastic console with a library of games that I believe to be unmatched. The only negative to me is that the DualSense controller that originally came with the system became unusable due to stick drift shortly after the warranty expired. The same exact thing happened to the next controller I purchased, so to anyone that is going to purchase the PS5, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND purchasing any extra warranty available that covers the controller. Other than that, the system is still running as it did on day one after 3 years of heavy usage.

I am lucky to have acquired both next-Gen gaming consoles the Xbox series X and the PlayStation 5. PS5 -Standard Unboxing just like PS4 -New Dual Sense Controllers feel amazing and is rechargeable -Free game installed Astro’s playroom -Only Console with Next-Gen exclusives at launch -Cool futuristic design at least the digital version looks cool the disc looks like it was just slapped on last minute -SSD is really fast -Great and easy to use User Interface -Games look amazing PS5 CONS -slightly weaker specs -Only 825gb of storage?? -Still some bugs to work out XBOX SERIES X -Unboxing was cool almost Apple like -Game Pass (game library) -Design fits more to blend in and is really cool and is very Apple like as well. -Has better Specs on paper -Quick Resume is cool -Microsoft has deep pockets just bought Bethesda XBOX SERIES X CONS -No Next-Gen exclusives at launch -Same Controllers basically that still need batteries -I’m personally sick of another subscription (game pass) -Still some bugs to workout Right now I think PS5 is the better system right now comes with Astro’s Playroom and currently playing Miles Morales and Demon souls is just amazing. But that may change in the future because Microsoft just bought Bethesda (Doom, Fallout, Elder Scrolls) for their GamePass subscription which can be a pro or con depending how you look at it. They want to be like Netflix of games and push another subscription to drain our wallets is the way I look at it. I love Halo and the Fallout series so I’m keeping both systems. I also read another review that said the PS5 was crashing on the new Call of Duty and I can tell you it’s the games fault not the system because my Xbox series X was crashing too playing it as I prefer to play First person shooters on Xbox because of the controller. Although the PlayStation’s new controller will give Xbox’s controller a run for its money because of its interactiveness. Overall both systems are really good and I’m keeping both but I will have to give the edge to PlayStation because it’s overall package just feels next Gen where the Xbox series X just feels like a really really powerful Xbox! PlayStation 5 stars Xbox 4 stars!

I like the new PS5, the console seems a bit bulky, so hopefully they come out with a slim version. The system performs better/faster than the previous consoles PS4, PS3 etc. but the controllers joysticks and top buttons L1,L2,R1,R2 dont last and had to replace/buy 3 new controllers already!

Best Buy made my purchase of this HOT item so seamless and easy. We love the PS5 it has great graphics and speed with enough disc and downloadable games. The controller has a nice contoured feel and easy to use. The setup was very easy being previous generation PS gamers. Can't say enough about Best Buy or Sony PS. Great companies and great products. I was able to pick up afew days earlier than expected. I can't forget the great curbside pickup for being quick and fast.

I know that there hasn't been many games out for the PS5 however the experience is worth it. The reason for this is due to the better performance of this machine. Compared to the PS4 Slim, I don't have to wait hours just to update a patch or download game as it downloads at 600ish MBPS over ethernet on a gigabit line. The console feels fast with no pauses, stutters and little wait time to get into a game. Any PS4 game that had weird stutters or graphic pop in no longer shows up on the PS5 due to its powerful performance. The PS5 controller feels great with its larger size, feedback with the rumble and feedback triggers. As a freebee that I'm happy about is that when buying a PS5 and having PS Plus; you get 19 great PS4 games for free (PS Plus collection) which adds more value into the purchase of a PS5. It's not all perfect though. There is some question when it comes to the controller as there are some people complaining about controller drift which I didn't get as of yet. My personal issue with the controller is battery life as it only lasts under 6 hours from a full charge. This worries me as when the controller gets older, the battery life will just get worse overtime. The other issue comes to it's size as it is almost the same height as a mid tower desktop. I couldn't fit it anywhere in my small apartment so I had to leave it on the floor. The last issue which is minor is you can't place custom backgrounds or use purchased backgrounds from PS4 into PS5. That is a bit lame as I use custom wallpapers to make the PS5 experience unique to myself. In conclusion I highly recommend getting this not just for the next gen games but just the better quality of life issues that plagued the PS4 consoles. If only there was available stock as this was a pain to try and buy >.< .

    My honest review about Sony

I never do reviews on stuff I buy but I felt like I needed to do it for this, especially during all of the news about Sony’s choices and upcoming plans. I’ve supported Sony since the very first PlayStation & until this day, I’ve owned every single one of them. I’ve had an Xbox before but reason that I stuck with Sony was the fact I created an account with them since the day of PSN was created and I made many friends through it and I like the trophies I’ve earned in my account.. so it’s difficult to just move on from that and start fresh on the Xbox thing, so that’s the reason I’m still on Sony’s side. Anyway, for the PlayStation 5, the console is amazing, from the looks of it to how it runs. Yes, they have been a lot of reports with people having problems with it but like with everything else, you get broken things or things that do not work properly and that’s unlucky for them but for the majority of the people the console is perfect. It’ll run anything perfectly fine, from the graphics to the smoothness of the gameplay, also how fast it is compared to the PlayStation 4 is absolutely breathtaking and you’ll notice that the moment you first turn it on. Also 1 feature that you could only get when you first turn the console on, is a video of start up that looks/feels like the old PlayStation 2 menu. Other than that, just enjoy the console, it is difficult to get one, still, but with time the chip shortage will be solved. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed with this. Good luck to anyone looking for one, Best Buy is definitely the place to get one!

My family and I have used the PlayStation 3 for the past 5 years. I decided to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 and I must say, We are extremely happy with the design. We purchased the PlayStation 5 online and was notified a day early that our equipment was ready. After we set up the console and played some demo games I was shocked at how well the graphics, controller, and speed operate. I am completely satisfied and happy about this purchase.

Got this on the pre-order launch, the pickup from Best Buy was efficient. The PS5 coming from the PS4 was a nice upgrade. So far the PS5 console has been performed well for the 1st gen PS5, I do look forward to the system updates that will enable the PS5's full potential. It's quick, and smooth. The PS5 controller is heavier than the PS4 , but the feel is much better with response sensitivity and player feedback, and built-in mic.

This system is freaking amazing, I mean I tried my hardest to get this system and Best Buy came through! The graphics are beyond anything and the speed is crazy fast. I literally have no complaints besides the storage..... I cannot update or download any of the newer games besides the ones that I have. I had to get a PS4 HD I order to free up space. But other thank that I recommend this system if your lucky enough to snag one!!

The PS5 is awesome, once finally obtained. The graphics are beautiful, and amazing 60 FPS finally on a gaming console. The console on the outside looks futuristic in any entertainment setup, and on the inside, performs like no other console has prior. Have had no issues with the console thus far, and highly recommend it! If trying to buy it right now, don’t give up, and don’t give in to scalpers! It is possible!

    Well-made launch console from Sony

The design of this console might be controversial, but there's no doubt that it feels well made and should hopefully remain reliable and viable for years to come into this generation. The DualSense controller is a nice upgrade from the PS4's DualShock 4 and feels heftier; the adaptive triggers are a great addition and the improved haptics put this above the Xbox controller IMO. Having a mute button (not just for mic input, but also as a way to mute all sound output when the button is held down) right on the controller is nice too. Speaking of sound, if you were using USB wireless headphones with your PS4, they'll probably work on your PS5 too. I hope to see more efforts from Sony in matching what MS is doing with services like GamePass. The PS5 does include some nice gestures, like a pack-in game that's actually really good, and a ton of excellent free games in the PS Plus Collection that you can enjoy, often at higher fidelity, on your PS5 while you wait for more next-gen titles to launch. The included HDMI cable is capable of the full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth but I wish it was a couple feet longer. With the console standing on the right side of my 65" Sony X900H TV, the HDMI cable is only just barely able to reach the ports on the TV's left side. I'm probably going to rearrange my setup so the console can sit on the left and not put undue stress on the cable or ports. Overall, I'm excited to see what the PS5 stands to offer as the generation advances.

It took around 15 minutes for them to come out. After that it was just a speedy process of showing them the code and ID then BOOM, PS5 was in my possession JUST LIKE THAT. 10 OUT OF 10 customer service. Some of the BEST that I've EVER been through. I already knew the console was going to be extravagant. The first boot up animation was magical. The music put me on a different planet. I LOVE the lights that come through the console/controller and the haptic feedback/adaptive trigger features. The haptic feedback is CRAZY. I also LOVE how there's a built-in microphone, SO USEFUL. One of my FAVORITE parts is how LONG the charging cord is, this was the BIGGEST make or break for me. I was thinking like would I have to take breaks to let my controller charge? NO SIR, the cord is really REALLY long. So I can just keep gaming for as LONG AS I WANT. Games looks SO GOOD and download SO FAST. Loading times are pretty much NON-EXISTENT. Controller is REALLY comfortable and beautiful looking. I LOVE the glass looking buttons on it and the grip on the sides. Console is BEAUTIFUL, the neon lights look SO GOOD at night. I like how it's basically a built-in fan to keep it running smooth for eternity. And the base is made to keep it propped up and make sure that the console gets air. YouTube runs SO SMOOTH and you can watch videos in 4K. But yeah in conclusion, there were NO flaws in this process. Straight GODLY experience. Keep up the good work. God Bless you guys for real.
