Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the PlayStation 5 Pro Console's improved graphics, performance, and storage capacity. They appreciate the powerful performance, ray tracing capabilities, and PSSR technology that enhances the visual experience. However, some express concerns about the console's high price, lack of a disc drive, and missing stand, considering it an expensive upgrade that may not be worth the extra cost for some.

Honestly after playing my bfs PS5 I decided to finally upgrade myself to the PS5 Pro after holding on to my PS3/PS4 and it does not disappoint. The graphics and load times are definitely better to me, but the regular PS5 is still fine as well. My tv only supports the 1440p/60 fsp/hrz so I can only imagine what the 120 fsp looks like. I think the price is reasonable for the Pro (lowkey not after taxes though because it adds like $50 unless you live in a tax free state). I remember paying like $500 back in the day for the first PS3 so for $200 more dollars to get what the Pro gives, I don’t feel too bad. I do however understand why not having a disc drive or stand included is irritating for the customer, but again for me it is still worth it. Overall, If you have the extra money, I say get the Pro. If you really don’t care that much or have a regular tv that can’t support the high features of the Pro, then stick with the regular. I play games like COD, The Last of Us and Tekken for reference.

So I decided to back up my original PS5 then trade it in to Best Buy for a PS5 Pro. Great trade-in experience! The PS5 Pro does not disappoint. Comes with 2TB of Console storage, thats more than 3x the storage in the PS5. I have an LG C2 which supports 4K 120fps. Played some games and I do see a marginal improvement. Horizon, Call of Duty to name a few. There are select games that are PS5 Pro enhanced, that can balance fidelity and performance up to 120fps. The only con is that there are limited amount of games available that are PS5 Pro enhanced, but there will be more in the near future. $700 is pretty steep, so the choice is up to you. If you are satisfied with your PS5 original or slim and love how the games look, then youll be fine. If you want more out of your games and you are big on tech like me, check out the PS5 Pro!!

Been a console gamer since the Atari 2600 & Space Invaders. I think Sony overpriced the PS5 Pro, then left out the vertical stand & the Disc drive. I’m not knowledgeable enough to say the performance specs & ability truly is or isn’t meaningful. I have my day one launch version PS4. Also have a PS4 Pro; 7215B version (quieter & uses the small figure “8” power cord). The standard PS4 vs the Pro was definitely worth buying. So far the system has been better in areas & a miss in others. Sony (SIE) has rarely made a dud. If something fails it’s usually from not supporting it (Vita) vs it being poorly designed. I th8nk with time & the new PSSR learning games will be better overall & hopefully we won’t be buying a PS6 anytime soon.

The PS5 Pro is a game changer. The improved graphics and faster load times are truly impressive. While the price tag is steep, the performance and features justify the cost for serious gamers. If you're looking to push the boundaries of console gaming, the PS5 Pro is the way to go.

First of all know what you are buying. I see no point of people saying they are surprised there is no stand or disc drive. So you casually spend $700 without researching your purchase? If you’re ok with those missing or buying them separately then the real question is this worth the extra money? I think that depends on several factors. Obviously the nicer your TV is the better value this will be. Keep in mind for the extra money your getting more then just a better GPU. You’re getting 2TB of storage (1.89TB available) which is more than double the standard PS5. Wifi has been upgraded to Wifi 7. They added 2GB more ram as well. Is it night and day better? No not really. But is a PS5 pro enchanced game noticable? I would say yes it is. Horizon remastered pro on an OLED is absolutely gorgeous and thats after playing the original PS5 version and its sequel. If you have the means ans you want the best visual quality on a growing list of games on console this is a worthy choice.

Finally, after several years of waiting and not bitting in to the slim version I got! So far, the performance have been good compared to the regular PS5 especially with multiple action game play happening all at once. Good examples is Jedi survivor game where it tends to get a bit choppy the PS5 pro wasn't having non of that. It was smooth and a bit more sharper at the edges. It also helps is you're playing it on an 98" QLED TV. The only criticism is for $700 it should have come with a disc drive already. It's also pet approved!

This system is awesome, hands down! A nice step-up over the original ps5. Enchanced games perform much better using Playstation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), and the 2TB storage upgrade over the base Ps5 is one of the main reasons I upgraded to this system. SSD storage is not cheap these days. If you have a TV (display) that's 120hz or higher, 2.1 HDMI, VRR and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) then this system is for anyone looking to get better gaming performance on Playstation. Im definitely enjoying mine!

My games look better. And perform better. Games look more colorful with colors that pop! And they all have Ray Tracing! At 4K Resolution! And at 120 FPS !!!! All of that running at the same time! No more choosing Quality or Performance because you get EVERYTHING!! Hats off to Sony Playstation Engineers. They are tech wizards! And it’s only $699 ! Thats 1/3 of what i paid to build a 4080 computer! And it performs the same!!!! I 100% recommand SONY PLAYSTION 5 PRO !!!!

I had the original PS5 and decided to upgrade. Everything overall is an improvement, storage, load times, smaller profile and quieter. It is a shame that you have to purchase the stand and disc drive separate, though understandable because this may be the last run of consoles with an actual disc drive going forward. The pro enhancement in certain games is subtle but overall the console feels like an upgrade if you can stomach the $$$.

After waiting so long to purchase a PS5, I had to go ahead and pick up the PS5 Pro. Everything about the Pro is fantastic. From loading times to performance, I’d say the Pro is pretty much worth it if you don’t already have a PS5 like I did myself. Only criticism I got for the console is that it should have come with a vertical stand AND disc drive. There’s no reason why it shouldn’t have been included.

The PS5 Pro is worth it if your setup supports what it offers. What I mean is if you have a 4k TV that supports 120hz and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) then you will see the benefits of the added performance and higher render resolution. This system is just as quiet as the original and uses no additional power/electricity. The 2tb storage is a bonus which makes it a little easier to justify the expense. PSVR 2 also benefits from the additional horse power Your kids will love it!

The best console just got better. Showing some significant gains in games that receive a pro patch to take advantage of the new power and features. As a reminder, the system does not come with a vertical stand or a disc drive. Those must be purchased separately if you would like them but are not necessary to use the console.

I got this ps5 pro in november for my own birthday present as I am unfortunately disabled with a auto immune spine disease called ankylosing spondylitis. Even though I am in pain 24/7 gaming really distracts me from the pain I am going through. I decided to get the pro despite me already owning the playstation 5 witb a disc drive because the launch edition ps5 I use to have had only 825gb of storage and I found out right away that really struggled with performance. I also have a gaming pc with a 7800x3d and a 4070ti super and I love using DLSS and raytracing at 4k ranging from 60-144 fps so I know how benefital a.i upscaling and raytracing features are and how much performance it brings. So thats why I sold my regular ps5 to get it. Now this ps5 pro comes with 2tb of storage more than 2x the storage of the ps5 launch edition. The gpu is technically almost 50% faster and this is whats interesting the regular ps5s gpu has 16gb of gddr6 vram however the ps5 pros gpu has 16gb of gddr6 memory and another 2gb ddr5 to run the systems os so the 16gb of gddr6 vram can fully be utilized in the pro version unlike the regular ps5.. Now a lot of people are complaining about lack of a disc drive which I dont think is fair to complain about it as all pcs dont come with a disc drive in fact most people with pcs use external disc drives. I plan on buying a external disc drive for the ps5 pro in the future. I can't now hecause of all the scalpers have them and its out of stock in most retail markets. However with ps plus premium there are so many games that you can download without the need of paying $70 for them most exclusives are now on ps plus premium with ps1-ps4 games also. I love how the pssr works it is not as good as dlss yet but defintly is better than fsr3 and i am impressed I was able to play gran turismo 7 @4k 120 fps on my hdmi 2.1 tv and it was impressive! I do not have a 8k tv so I wasnt able to test out the 8k@30 fps feature yet. But I love how I can play raytracing games on my console at upscaled 4k 60 fps just like I can do on my pc. I highly recommend the ps5 pro to anyone who doesnt even have a ps5 yet.

Got the PS5 Pro on launch day and it’s been an amazing experience. Enhances games with PSSR and the 2tb storage is nice to have. $700 may be a hearty price but if you want to play your ps games with the best performance possible it’s worth it.

Overall happy with my purchase/pre order. I will say I was somewhat concerned when the outer box/sleeve's seal sticker appeared damaged, all the contents in the interior most box were still properly packaged and completely unharmed. I've seen others mentioning issues with packaging being damaged as well so I suppose I'm not alone there.

Note: I play on LG G1 OLED with panel capable of 120hz and VRR.* The PS5 pro is everything that Sony built it up to be. Increased fidelity in higher frame rate modes with a little extra (PSSR) to boot. So far the games that I have tested (Horizon Forbidden West, Dragons Dogma 2, Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk 2077, and Black Ops 6) all perfom better than they did on the regular PS5 and those games in the list that are optimized by the developers for PS5 Pro feels like I’m playing them for the first time again, the upgrade is that impressive. Dragons Dogma 2 which had the pro patch on release day of the PS5 Pro looks so good in performance mode and I am getting a stable 60 FPS median in Balanced mode with ray tracing effects on. Before on the PS5 original, i was getting 30FPS with ray tracing on. To make things sweeter, PSSR brings out another level of detail in far ranging graphics this was noticable in Dragons Dogma 2 and Horizon Forbidden West more than the others. That all being said, a couple of the games i tested, Black Ops 6 and Cyberpunk 2077, which do not have PS5 Pro patches (cyberpunk might not ever have it) play just a bit better but if you werent OCD about graphics like I tend to be you probably wouldnt inow which console you were playing on if the images were side by side. This was very dissappointing as I believed the upgraded hardware itself could take these games to a new level of fidelity but it does not. At the time of writing this black ops 6 still gas not released its pro patch and my hope is that the unsightly graniness in 120hz mode might be solved by PSSR. I think we will see the true test of its capabilities in games further doen the road which will be produced to cater to the upgrade of the PS5 pro and not just patches for older titles, which is very exciting. All in all, the ps5 pro is worth the expense if you want the best graphics, which I did. I think it is worth noting again like i did in the beginning of this review that having a good TV set to really bring out the detail is important too. Especially one that unlocks the features of this console, VRR, 120hz so its potential can be realized. If you do not have a set that can atleast produce those outputs I would pass on the PS5 Pro.

The PS5 Pro improves on the standard PS5 experience meaningfully by boosting frame rates in unlocked titles, and providing improved graphics in a number of enhanced titles. It’s early days still, but I’ve seen noteworthy improvements in games like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Stellar Blade, Visions of Mana, and Dying Light 2. However, not every game benefits from the increased power, and some games have been patched with changes that arguably reduce the image quality. At $700 (or $780 with the disc drive), it’s definitely not a mandatory upgrade, but it’s nice for die-hard fans or PC gamers looking for fewer compromises on their console titles.

A Seamless Crossover: 20+ Years of Loyalty Switched in an Instant! Rating: 5/5 Stars I'll start by saying I was a die-hard Microsoft fan for over 20 years. Yes, you read that right – two decades of loyalty to the Xbox brand. However, with the release of the PlayStation 5, I decided to take the leap and switch to the "dark side." I must say, it's been an excellent decision! The PS5 is an absolute powerhouse of a console. The controls are incredibly intuitive, and the haptic feedback is a game-changer. I've always been accustomed to the Xbox controller, but the DualSense controller has won me over. The adaptive triggers, the precise analog sticks, and the comfortable design make it a joy to hold and play. Storage-wise, the PS5's SSD is a revelation. Load times are virtually non-existent, and the overall performance is silky smooth. I've been able to play some of the most demanding games without any issues, and the console's cooling system keeps everything running quietly and efficiently. The exclusive titles, such as God of War Ragnarök and The Last of Us Part I, are breathtakingly beautiful and engaging. The level of detail, the storytelling, and the immersive gameplay have all contributed to an unforgettable gaming experience. In conclusion, I'm thrilled to have made the switch to PlayStation. The PS5 has exceeded my expectations in every way, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade or switch from another platform. Sony has truly outdone themselves with this console, and I'm excited to see what the future holds for the PlayStation brand. Pros: - Lightning-fast load times - Incredible controller design and haptic feedback - Stunning exclusive titles - Top-notch storage and performance - Seamless gameplay experience Cons: None Recommendation: If you're a gamer looking for a premium console experience, look no further than the PlayStation 5. Trust me, you won't regret it!

As a loyal PlayStation fan and a long-standing Best Buy customer for nearly two decades, I was beyond excited to purchase the PS5 Pro from my favorite retailer. While the experience began with a small hiccup, it ended up reaffirming why I’ve trusted Best Buy for so long. The first PS5 Pro I received had issues with artifacting and freezing during gameplay after installing the disc drive attachment for any pshycial games. For a gamer who values performance, this was disappointing. However, Best Buy handled the situation perfectly. The exchange process was smooth and hassle-free—no questions asked. Their commitment to making things right reminded me why I’ve chosen to shop with them for nearly 20 years. With my new PS5 Pro in hand, I can confidently say it’s a game-changer. The stunning graphics, seamless performance, and lightning-fast load times make it a console worth every penny. Paired with the immersive DualSense controller, the PS5 Pro delivers an unparalleled gaming experience. And best of all, my disc games no longer freeze the system. This entire process has only deepened my trust in Best Buy. Their customer service is top-notch, and they’ve once again proven why they’re my go-to for tech and gaming. If you’re thinking of getting a PS5 Pro, I highly recommend Best Buy—they stand by their customers and deliver excellence.
