this ps classic has many classic games from the ps1 era but lags in framerate and not truly encompassing all the classics the console had to offer holds it back tremendously.

It's a known issue with this console. It's laggy and not worth it.

System lags and is very glitchy, it feels as if they rushed to get something out and didn't listen to what anyone wanted or even made sure it worked right. Game selection was subpar.

They tell you on the box you'll need something to plug into the wall. It comes with a USB cord. There's a slight lag when I try to use it on my tv.

My husband was so disappointed with the lag, we returned this. Maybe we are spoiled by 4k? This did not met expectations.

There are some decent games on here, but nearly all of them are games I'll play a short period of time and never touch for years. Missing important classics such as Castlevania and Jet Moto. Should have been better sequels like Resident Evil 2 instead of the first one. The games also run horrible. Super laggy and choppy. I hear it's because they are European PAL versions instead of North American NTSC versions. The end this, the thing doesn't include a power adapter. All USB adapters output different amps and wattage. You could blow the thing up by using your own if it outputs too much power.

Playstation Classic is a great platform if your looking to play FF7 or Metal Gear solid, wild Arms, syphon Filter or Resident Evil. The remainder of the games lag and show the poor quality of the console. It needs a better library to stand up to Nintendo. At least its open source so it makes moding the console easy.

You really blew it Sony. From the PAL games - underwater experience, terrible input lag; to the awful 2m long controller cord; to not including an AC adapter; on and on...you blew it here Sony. Happily returning. This is awful, unplayable.

Horrible lag in all of the games, almost unplayable. Blur effect makes graphics look different than you might remember them. Forgot how bad the PS1 controller was compared to modern controllers with joysticks, but thats minor compared to the buyer's regret I felt after hooking this thing up and playing it. If you bought the NES classic or SNES classic at 60 and 70 dollars respectively, and don't ever play those, well... don't buy this one. Only hope left is that we all figure out a way to hack it. Positive note, if you hookup certain USB keyboards you can hit the ESC button and access hidden emulation options menus, which might help. BestBuy does not allow review edits like most other modern websites or else I would say that I will keep the review updated :\

This mini console is emulated by PSXe. Not only that, it's got games that are from the PAL region so you end up getting games that lag or are out of sync. Why they couldn't get the games as NTSC is beyond me. The game selection titles have more games that I wouldn't even bother touching. Buy this only if you're a collector and have to have a piece of gaming history. It's only great titles that make it the PS Classic are Tekken 3, FF7, Metal Gear Solid 1 and Resident Evil. If you're planning on doing something to the console, bear in mind it comes with 16GB all of which are basically used to load the 20 games.

I read a fair amount of negative reviews on the PS Classic as far as graphics and the controls go and I can understand. Since the gaming list had about 5 games I grew up with and loved and the price dropped from $100 to $80, I had to give it a shot. I've always been a Final Fantasy 7 Fan and honestly if that is all that was on here I'd say it was worth the money. The graphics and controls are all the same as I remembered. I'm primarily playing FF7 for now, but I've messed around with a few other games and found that Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil are just as they used to be. Twisted Metal was the only game that I found to be really lagging on the controls. This was the perfect buy for me as I've a lot of history with many of these titles. If that is the case with you, then it is a must buy.

This product was totally rushed to cash in on the success Nintendo has had with their classic systems. Sony should have taken more time and released this in 2019 which would have been the 25th anniversary of the system. This one sucks! Many of the games don't hold up well. There is noticeable lag with some as well. And it doesn't even come with an AC plug. Really?! Skip this purchase!

I'm glad I got this " Playstation thing" for a lower price. It is not very good at all. This does not bode well with me. The games lag, the soundtracks lag, the controllers are a joke. If you stretch the screen on the TV you get a odd over lap effect once in a while. I know there is not much that can be done graphic wise. There are much better options to play these games. Requiring the original game, a PS1 or PS2 with a certain HDMI converter (that came out a few months ago) works WAY better. Also the PS3 is good too, even if the game is downloaded. Best Buy should carry a converter as such... I feel Sony wants to kill retro gaming by putting this out. I hope they do not bother with a PS2 classic. Perhaps just perhaps they will make it up in the near future with a fully backwards compatible system...
