having access to retro PS1 games in a mini device is awesome the choice to have the PAL inferior version of the games instead the the original America region is not. This was Sony rushing out a product that wasnt fully thought through to get a quick cash grab through nostalgia and insult their customers while then playing the “see no one likes retro games” card. i bought this when the price dropped to $20 and honestly only for Persona revelations but the good news is that you can get it hacked and make it much better than it is out the box.

I only brought this system because of nostalgia. I was 5 years old when the Playstation was released. When I turned on the system, the UX/UI of the menu was mediocre and lazy. They could've added at least five more games, and it can get boring to play after a while. The only good thing about the system is that it has Final Fantasy VII. Other than that, don't buy if you're expecting great system quality. The quality is medicore, let alone they tried to copy their competitors.

I was able to buy this on sale for a decent price. I would say if you have never played Final Fantasy 7 or Metal Gear Solid and have no other way of playing them, this is a good way to play them. But overall the PSone Classic has a bad reputation for a good reason; The games included, for the most part, are not only low quality but not what most people would consider "classic" games. No Crash Badicoot, no Spyro, etc. Overall not terrible, but not good either. Not worth it at full price

The build quality is great. You get two controllers. The controllers feel just like the original non Dualshock controllers. If Sony wouldn’t have loaded the European 50hz pal roms on this device it would have gotten a 5 star review. Also would have been cool if they gave us scanline options. There are at least three simple ways to hack this device to access the emulator menu and even add your own games. I don’t know if the average user is up for this but if you do all of these shortcomings go away.

As a nostalgia piece, it serves it's purpose. If you're looking for something more than a showpiece, we've clearly reached the limit of what cheap emulation devices can do. It's perfectly functional but does not run the more advanced games at a very playable frame rate. If you want a cheap way to legally own a few old PS games to play for a few minutes before turning it into a decoration, it's fine. If you're looking to really replay some old Playstation games, there are better options.

This is a nicely built little mini console that attempts to emulate the greatness of the NES and SNES Classic. Unfortunately, they put seemingly zero effort into including great games representative of the Playstation 1 era. Also, going with the PAL versions of the games instead of the superior NTSC versions should not be ignored. However, waiting for the deep discount paid off and it is worth getting for a cheap price.

For the price you can’t be too mad what you get I would only recommend this to somebody who knows a little more on the Marin community because the base 20 games are mediocre too bad I don’t represent a generation that grew up with the original PlayStation so with that being said if you are into modeling I would purchase this but if you just wanna plug and play maybe look into other alternatives

I got the PlayStation Classic on sale for 20 dollars and I think the price is justified there. But any higher and I wouldn’t have bought it. I think this system is just okay. My biggest complaint is the lack of games that I felt defined the PS1 era. No Spyro, no Crash and no Tony Hawk Pro Skater. That being said, there are games worth playing on here but the lineup should have been better.

This classic console is good for the price i paid for it. It brings back a nice Nostalgia factor. I think if you can get this console for under $50 or so get it. FF7, Metal Gear Solid ,Wild arms, Intelligent Cube and Persona. I would value those games at like $10 each if I was to buy them digitally anywhere. Super good deal if you want that OG feel.

There are certain games on this console that bring back old memories such as metal gear solid, twisted metal, siphon filter, or tekken. These games didn't hold up very well over time. They don't look good on HD or 4k. They should have included more than 20 games. It comes with two wired controllers. Wireless would be better. I paid 60 for this and I'm OK with it but I wouldn't pay a penny more.

Wait till this goes on sale. The product itself is top notch and will bring back the nostalgic days when PlayStation was the hot system to own. So many great games! Unfortunately almost all of those games are missing and the ones included leave a lot to be desired. Buy on sale, and even then you may want to skip this one as opposed to the superior NES Classic and SNES Classic systems.

The pre-loaded game selection is lackluster at best. The controllers are wired which sucks. With a $20.00 pricetag, it becomes much more appealing considering you can have fun modding the system and add a ton of (already, legally owned) games. Adding an aftermarket dongle will allow you to play with whatever controller you prefer.

I was on the fence about buying the classic Playstation but I read that this could be modded to play additional games and with the right adaptor you could use PS4 wireless controllers with it. I will soon have all of those components and will see if it all works together as advertised. Game selection was poor. I hope they do something about that.

Picked it up on sale for $20 which was a fantastic price. Wasn’t worth the $100 in the first place when it came out. Sony dropped the ball with the game selection and was a missed opportunity, missing classics like Crash, Spyro and many others. But games like Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy 7 were good standouts for me.

The Playstation Classic is a flawed mini console. Some of it's main issues are the use of PAL versions of it's games, the lack of a AC plug, a lacking choice of games that at least has some real gems of gaming history, and a not too useful save system (only 1 per game, and easy to get confused if you're saving or canceling the save). But if you're able to get this below the 30 dollar mark, it has some redeeming qualities. The lack of internal security makes it easy to modify into a more useful retro gaming console, the presentation of the system itself and the packaging is nice, two USB controllers, and some good classics even if they're slow due to being from the wrong region (Final Fantasy 7, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 1 for example). If you want something to represent this era of gaming or are curious to try modifying gaming consoles in the vein of the Raspberry pi, then it's a fantastic value when it's under the 30 dollar range.

Physically, it is well put together, but some of the emulation on the games leaves a lot to be desired. The game selection is decent, but could be better. But all in all, if you're a fan of the original playstation, this is a nice little piece of nostalgia if you can get it discounted.

Disappointing game selection. Playstation Classic console is built well, but honestly, aside from Final Fantasy I really don't play the other games. That said, I did purchase on sale for only $19.99. At that price point, why not?

I will say that I got this on sale for $25, and it is worth that price. If the listed price was that low or even a little higher, it'd maybe be a 4-star rating. But $60? No way. It only has 20 games pre-loaded on it, and if you take a look at the list, not many of those are actually all that great. I like RPGs, so Final Fantasy VII, Wild Arms, and Persona are worth the price for me. You add Oddworld, Rayman, Tekken 3, Resident Evil... Quite a few games worth playing. But notable titles like Tomb Raider, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro being missing is kind of unforgivable. There's not much you can't just get on the PSN, so I wouldn't bother to pick this up unless you get it deeply discounted like I did. It is a poor attempt to match the quality of the NES and SNES Classic systems that Nintendo released.

As an avid collector and retro gamer, I own quite a few of these mini consoles. Sony's was probably the most rushed and half completed of them all. You don't see the same care and detail put into the product that you see with Nintendo's offerings or even the Sega one. Decent collection of games but it could've been much better considering the PS1's library of games. If you can get it on sale, it's nice addition to any collectors library as the physical look of the console is well done. Would just like to have seen better games, better emulation and a little more 'love' put into the project.

The system feels cheap out of the box. This should be one those $30 off brand remakes. It doesn’t include a charger block so I have to use the one from my Nintendo which is fine but for the $40 more that it cost over the NES classic it should have its own charger. The games seem ok, haven’t played much yet. You buy these mini systems for the look and feel of the old systems and this one just doesn’t have it. Better off playing the games on your PC.
