Follow mod instructions from Youtube
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just the few games included wasn't worth it. But followed mod instructions on Youtube to be able to play many games on it. Taking a star off as occasionally it needs to be reset to unfreeze it.

OK if you've never played some classic ps1 games
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to buy this on sale for a decent price. I would say if you have never played Final Fantasy 7 or Metal Gear Solid and have no other way of playing them, this is a good way to play them. But overall the PSone Classic has a bad reputation for a good reason; The games included, for the most part, are not only low quality but not what most people would consider "classic" games. No Crash Badicoot, no Spyro, etc. Overall not terrible, but not good either. Not worth it at full price

Awesome if you hack this
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The build quality is great. You get two controllers. The controllers feel just like the original non Dualshock controllers. If Sony wouldn’t have loaded the European 50hz pal roms on this device it would have gotten a 5 star review. Also would have been cool if they gave us scanline options. There are at least three simple ways to hack this device to access the emulator menu and even add your own games. I don’t know if the average user is up for this but if you do all of these shortcomings go away.

Out of the box, its crap, but mod it, its awesome!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of the box, its crap, but mod it, its awesome! You can play just about any playstation 1 game after you mod it. Also you can hook up DS4 controllers via USB to get Joysticks. Worth it for the cheap price it does for now!

Out of the box it is a huge disappointment, but...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s painfully obvious that Sony put zero effort into this PlayStation Classic, as the emulation is wonky running at PAL frame rates, even though we’re NTSC. This was a quick cash grab trying to compete with the huge success of the NES and SNES classic. At $100, it’s a total ripoff. However, there is good news. For $20 it’s a steal. Thanks to the community, this box can easily be fixed with a cheap thumb drive of 64GB or more, and some simple software. You can have full control over your PS games and even add more games and consoles. It will basically become an awesome emulation box. A simple google search will guide you.

Brings back memories for us old people!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this gift for my husband and he loves it. Due to some of the early reviews, I was nervous about it. But, those reviews are obviously from purchasers who either take gaming way too seriously OR aren’t old enough to remember that this is simply the way these games looked and responded back in the nineties. We bought our first PS1 in 1996 and it was very advanced for the time. Since then, gaming systems have come a long way, making this system seem old and not worth the money. This system is geared towards people over the age of 40 who enjoy the simplicity of putting the smack down on their teenagers who can’t beat their parents at Tekken 3 because the controller doesn’t have toggles. If you are looking for a true throwback, this is it. If you are a young gamer with the latest and greatest, keep walking.

Not bad for what it is
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a nostalgia piece, it serves it's purpose. If you're looking for something more than a showpiece, we've clearly reached the limit of what cheap emulation devices can do. It's perfectly functional but does not run the more advanced games at a very playable frame rate. If you want a cheap way to legally own a few old PS games to play for a few minutes before turning it into a decoration, it's fine. If you're looking to really replay some old Playstation games, there are better options.

Good for the price
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for $20 and would not recommend paying more than that. Game selection is OK. It really should be much better. But for the price you get two controllers and an HDMI cable.

Tons of fun
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A total walk down memory lane. A must for a fan of ps1 retro gaming. The controllers look and feel like how I remember them. The game selection could have been better but overall, a blast to play.

Great System! Game Selection is Baffling.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nicely built little mini console that attempts to emulate the greatness of the NES and SNES Classic. Unfortunately, they put seemingly zero effort into including great games representative of the Playstation 1 era. Also, going with the PAL versions of the games instead of the superior NTSC versions should not be ignored. However, waiting for the deep discount paid off and it is worth getting for a cheap price.

Sony mini Playstation Classic Console
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited for this original release last year and preordered one. By the time I rec'd it the reviews were so disappointing that I returned the product unopened. 8 months later the original $100 was down to $59.99 and then $19.99. I picked one up for the memories of original Playstion, used $10 of BB rewards so for $9.99 it'll sit unopened but at least I got one. 5 stars for price, NOT for preloaded game selection, lack of cables, and supposedly poor resolution. I'd recommend only if you can get the low sale price. Reviews in general are pretty abysmal.

Good but much better if you can grab on sale...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had high hope's for this since I played probably 1000+ hours on my original Playstation when I got it in High School and took to college. The selection of games is ok and there were definitely ones that were not included and should have been. The attention to detail is pretty good and it does boot up quickly. The controllers are pretty accurate to the originals. They are USB and I have read you can use a dual shock but I haven't gotten around to trying that yet. There are also ways to "add" games if you search the internet without much trouble so you can add many of the games that should have made it but didn't. Since I grabbed it on sale for $20 I am pleased with my purchase.

Best Served Modded
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up a PSClassic when Best Buy was selling them $20 a piece. For that price, it was perfect time to mod it. Once you get into modding it, there really aren’t much games the PSClassic can’t play as long as they don’t require the analog sticks. Just make sure you do your research throughly! The idea of the PSClassic was an amazing one but poorly executed with the game choices. I hope this doesn’t deter Sony from the possibility of a mini PS2 and instead maybe they’ll be more choosier of what goes on it. Not to say people, me included, won’t mod it to death. But I think if the game selection id a bit better, people will be more forgiving of it’s shortcomings.

Great product if you see beyond what it is
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price you can’t be too mad what you get I would only recommend this to somebody who knows a little more on the Marin community because the base 20 games are mediocre too bad I don’t represent a generation that grew up with the original PlayStation so with that being said if you are into modeling I would purchase this but if you just wanna plug and play maybe look into other alternatives

Mod the PS Classic.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the PS classic is NOT a good system BUT at $20, I SUGGEST you mod the PS classic to get a better and fun better experience. It is easy to mod and add TON of games from different systems.

Good if you get it on sale
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the PlayStation Classic on sale for 20 dollars and I think the price is justified there. But any higher and I wouldn’t have bought it. I think this system is just okay. My biggest complaint is the lack of games that I felt defined the PS1 era. No Spyro, no Crash and no Tony Hawk Pro Skater. That being said, there are games worth playing on here but the lineup should have been better.

Nice retro trip, could have been better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For what it is this retro console is solid although not worth the full price. The games on it are half of the better games I would expect and then the rest are sort of a slog of exclusives that no one really wanted. Assuming you are excited to play at least some of the included games then this gets the job done just fine. It was a miss in terms of not having more of the iconic games fans would have wanted and the controller not having dual analog sticks is shocking and affects some of these games which used to require having the original dual analog controller. Having a better overall game selection and actual analog sticks would have made this a 5 star purchase for sure.

PlayStation Classic is now a must-buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PlayStation Classic has a great collection of PlayStation One games, perfect for those that want to recapture the feeling of experiencing games like Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid, and Final Fantasy VII. At its original price point ($100), I would have told you to stay away from it, but its current $19.99 price is too good to pass up. The package itself has its shortcomings, like the lack of analog sticks on its controllers, the game themselves have not aged as well as the NES and SNES Classics and their pixelated counterparts, but that is not reason enough to keep someone from getting it, especially at such a great price.

Blast from the Past!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited to see Sony going retro with this PS1 classic. The initial price made me hesitant however as I soon learned of the limitations of the system. When BBY did a price drop, it became more likely for me to purchase it. I loved the throw-back design of the system and the games included. It is fun to play some of the old PS1 games, but it is limited only to what is onboard the chip, so if you get bored, what you have is what you got. Overall, could have gotten an emmulator for a cheaper price, but it wouldn't be in this cool form factor. Unless you're a die-hard Playstation fan, it might not make sense for you to get it.
