PS Plus - the BEST deal in gaming

The headline practically says it all. I've been a PS+ member for nearly 3 years now, and in that time, I've received close to $900 worth of games (some PSOne, some PSP, some PSV, some PS4, and a ton of PS3 games), all for a $50/year investment. In addition, PS+ lets you upload game saves from your Vita/PS3/PS4 to the Sony cloud service, which allows you to save hard drive space and still access saved games years later. So long, disc rot! If you're still on the fence about making the shift to purchasing digital games and content for your Sony consoles, PS+ gives you access to 6 games per month (as of June 2014) across 3 different console experiences. Please bear in mind that you don't outright own these games, but retain access to them while your PS+ membership is still access. This has led to plenty of complaints here on the Internet, but the reality is that the library Sony has provided for PS+ has grown so large that, if you'd paid for it as long as I have, you couldn't possibly have the time to even play everything you have access to. Watch Best Buy for discounts on the cost of these cards, but by all means, purchase PS+!!!

The reason most of us PlayStation 4 gamers subscribe to the Playstation Plus is to have full access to online play. However, if you ever talk to any of us after a few months, you will know it is the free games that you get every month that make the subscription have that much more value. Each month, Sony offers 1-3 titles free of charge on your PS4. With that being said, this goes also with your PS3 or your Vita as well, which offers different free games. In addition, there is also some discounts to be had that are exclusive to PSPlus members, which you may also find yourself using often on a cool indie title or a recently discounted AAA title. It is basically required, and a great way for you to get yourself or your kids free games the day you bring the console home. RECOMMENDED!!!

A couple of things make getting this card a good buy. First, sometimes these cards will go on sale at a discount. Second, they're good as gifts for those who owns a Playstation 3, 4, or Vita. While it's easy to simply put in a recurring payment linked with the credit card on file, it's cheaper and easier to buy these cards when they go on sale. Entering the code is easy enough on the Playstation 4 platform. Just go to the PS Store, scroll down to Redeem Code, and enter the code. There is no need to put in any space or dash. The system will sort that out for you. There are two benefits of a PS Plus subscription. The first is online multiplayer. The second is monthly PS Plus free games. Is it worth the price? That depends. At regular price, I don't think it's worth it unless Sony picks some big quality games for their monthly free PS Plus games. But if it's priced at 40 and under, it may be worth trying out.

Last year I bought the PS+ membership for my nephew, and another for my daughter, after reading many online reviews on several websites. My nephew is a constant gamer, several hours a day, all the newest releases, far more than any human should be staring at a screen. Initially he rolled his eyes, and turned his nose up, at the gift. However once he put in the code and started looking at the site, he texted "best gift ever!" Over the twelve months he downloaded and played over a dozen games, worth several times the cost of the membership. Now that he has upgraded to the PS4, the membership is required for online group play, so it is even better for him. For my daughter and myself we haven't downloaded and played as many games as my nephew, but there are a few, again worth more than the cost of the membership. This year I had no second thought in purchasing a renewal for both accounts. I have, and likely will continue to be very happy with the purchase.

Playstation plus is basically a $50 service that gives you access to some great features like A) cloud saves for all of your games (meaning you can access your save files from a friends playstation just be logging in). B) Playstation Plus free games every month, that if you download you can have access to so long as you keep your playstation plus subscription active. The game selection is great, with games like Hitman, Uncharted 3, Gravity Rush, Battlefield 3, etc. C) Special sale prices just for playstation plus members, giving you huge discounts on dlc and other promotions that are run every month/few weeks. With the playstation 4, you need to use playstation plus to get access to online multiplayer. I know that's a bit of a bummer, but hey it means that Sony can pay for its servers and hopefully provide some great new services like Gaikai game-streaming in the future. Playstation plus is a fantastic value alone just for the game sales and the free games each month.

I jumped on this deal for a 1-year Subscription to Playstation Plus+ around Black Friday for $30. I saw that some of the free games that were included in the subscription were ones I always wanted to play, but couldn't find myself to purchase them when they were on sale for $20, but now for $30, I can download all of them and play for free. These include Uncharted 3, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and even though I have Borderlands 2, now that it's included for free, I can either sell mine, trade it in, or give it to a friend. Bioshock Infinite is also coming this month so that should be fun as well! I don't play video games that often, so I probably wouldn't get this for $50 or if those games mentioned weren't available, but all the stars aligned and I couldn't pass up the deal. Playstation Plus+ is definitely a great thing for gamers who play all the time, because you get timed trials on recent releases as well, plus a variety of free games to download.

As an owner of a PlayStation 3 and now a PlayStation 4, this has become an essential part of my gaming experience. I was initially hesitant when they announced this Plus upgrade, but after getting a free trial period, it was hard to rationalize going back. For $50, you get at least 24 free games a year. If you have multiple PlayStation systems (any combination of the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita), you can get up to 72 free games a year. Considering a full-priced physical game is typically $60 and even independent digital titles usually start only as low as $10, this is just an unrivaled deal in gaming as far as I'm aware. In addition to the free games, you also get more and bigger discounts on digitally released games across all three aforementioned platforms. I strongly recommend this to anyone with or planning to buy a PlayStation system.

Coming from the Xbox platform/ecosystem, I wasn't sure if I even needed a membership, so I bought one, assuming I would. First, you can play games online without this; unlike buying an MS membership. So, why buy this? Sony has done a great job of picking a variety of independent and mainline studio games and given them for FREE to PSN paid members. This is valid across all platforms. Well done Sony, for making me feel valued and feel like my investment was worthwhile!

I am a fairly big Xbox supporter, but the value currently offered by PS+ is undeniable. The free games you get every month for ps3, ps4, and ps vita are really a steal. The games offered are typically quality games as recent as the previous year. Plus you get discount in selected items every month. Even if you don't have a PS4 or Vita yet, you can still go online and "purchase" the free games and bank them until you do have a system. The majority of the value here is for PS3 games, but that is sure to shift in time. Again, this is the best deal in gaming right now. The only downside is, even with the free games you have "purchased" you have to have a current subscription to access them. Anything you have bough at actual price is yours forever. These cards typically go in sale a few times a year. If you happen to catch these during a promotion, buy several. However, even at full price, it is still a remarkable value.

For $50 a year, you get to download as many free games from the Instant Game Collection (IGC) as you want, plus you get to keep them all...as long as you are an active member of PSP. New games are constantly being added to the IGC, so there are always new games to try. If you are no longer a subscriber to PSP, the games you downloaded will not be available to you, however, when you re-activate your PSP account, every game you EVER downloaded will be available. - Multiple PSP memberships are stackable, so you may redeem two cards at the same time. For example, if you bought two 12-month PSP memberships and redeemed both on January 1st, 2015, your PSP membership will expire on January 1st, 2017. - One 12-month PSP membership for the same PlayStation account (same user ID) will work on all PlayStation platforms (PS3, PS4, PS Vita) during that one year period.

I am sad that this service is not free but it's not too expensive. This is my first PlayStation as I have owned all Xbox products in the past. My oldest son convinced me that the PS4 is really cool with more options. I settled on this as with this PlayStation plus membership you can play with other PlayStation users online. He is now in the Army and stationed in another state so when we play we can party chat the whole time which I think is a great feature. The other reason I don't mind spending the money on this 12 month subscription is that you also have the ability to download several games each month for free. Being new to the PS4 my library is not very big yet so this gave me the opportunity to add a few more titles to my PS4 to try other types of games. No regrets with this purchase. I will renew when it expires.

I got this for $39 on sale for a 1 year (12 month) membership instead of $49 and i really enjoy the free games and discounts I receive from it. I am a PS3 owner so I don't "have to have it" to be able to play online so getting this is completely optional for me. But i choose to get it because in the long run it really is a good value and saves me a lot of money since the games i get for free can be played by any of the other house hold members WITHOUT having to pay for PS+ for each additional account that is on my PS3. (On PS4 each account needs a PS+ membership to be able to play online just like xbox live gold so it can get costly if you have more than 1 gamer in your house)

I really have nothing bad to say about this. Benefits of being a member include free timed trials, free and reduced priced full, PSN, and mini games, and various other perks. I've been a member for just over a month, and I'm pretty sure my membership fee has already paid for itself. The price break for purchasing a year membership is well worth it. $50 buys a one year membership, which means that an additional $30 buys an additional nine months of membership,as the price of a three month membership in $20.

So when i first heard you needed to have PS+ in order to enjoy the PS4 online, i was a little taken aback. Mainly because PS3 was free compared to XBOX and that was awesome. So I did a little research and what I found out made it not so bad. Yeah its a hefty price tag per year but the benefits you get with it far outweigh the bad. You just need to look into it a bit more to understand what you get. I mean Free FULL Games to Download on the PS STore? Pretty awesome. The fact that it crosses your PS3 and PS4 accounts is even better. The Free games i have now Downloaded for PS4 just about paid for the fee, (Mainly cause they are all Indy games) BUT the PS3 games i have gotten since then have more than outpaid the membership. Sure the price tag initially is a bit of a shock but the fact that you get so much bang for your buck makes it totally worth it.

I had been putting off getting PS+, because it never met with my budget. Then I saw it discounted here at BB, so I finally broke down and got it.I don't regret it at all. The first thing I did, was download Little Big Planet Karting, and Saints Row 3. Great games, and combined, basically covered the cost of the card, on day one. I still have 12 more months of free game offers, to look forward to. The one negative is, my daughters both have PS Vitas, and even though I'm eligible for free Vita games, AND I can download to my PS3 for transferring to a Vita, my kids can not actually use the games, because PS+ is tied to your account (and sub accounts). I knew that was a possibility going in, so I didn't lower the rating, but definitely something I wish was different. Fortunately, Sony IS changing the policy when the PS4 arrives. I was hoping it might be sooner.

Best Value for a Playstation 4 Owner

Since getting my PS4 I've maintained a regular PS+ subscription. Previously, I would buy 3 months at a time, but this often resulted in me losing track of when my subscription would renew. I don't like having it automatically renew itself, but I would find myself logging on and not being able to access online play one day because it had expired. Now, for the price of a new game, I don't have to worry about it for a year, plus I can look forward to at least 12 free games through PS+ as well as the other discounts. The free NBA 2k16 from last month almost justified the entire purchase for me. By buying a year subscription you spend roughly $4.17 per month rather than $6, or $22 over the course of a year over buying 3 months at a time. That's nothing to sneeze at!

Seeing how the Playstation Plus service will be required for the Playstation 4, I picked up the 1 year service early since there was a good deal for it. The first day I activated it, I got a bunch of games for free, and some interesting demos. I love how updates are done automatically when you get Playstation Plus, which means no more waiting to download patches before you play. There is also support for the Playstation Vita, which significantly adds to the value of PSPlus. You can get a PSVita tomorrow and instantly have about 6 solid games to play immediately. As it stands now, the value of this compared to the Xbox Live depends on what you are looking for. If you play a select few games and play online, I would recommend XBox Live over this for now. However, if you want to play a bunch of different games and build a solid gaming library, it is worth it.

This is a must buy product for anyone with a PS3, PS4 or Vita. If you own any of those consoles I stated you owe it to yourself to sign up for PS Plus because the benefits outweighs the cost. The Great thing is that one membership works across all playstation platforms which nets you free games every month across all 3 systems if you own all 3. Now by free I mean you keep them for as long as you maintain your membership. If your membership lapses you will lose all the game titles you download. The only way you would not want the Plus membership if you don't have broadband internet otherwise it is a must especially if you want to play online on PS4 since PS3 nor Vita do not require membership to play online. BTW if you are a member you get extra discounts when they have sales on downloadable games.

Excellent price. When I got to the cashier, it was at $44.99 which is better for me..... This item is required for on-line playing so make sure you buy it prior to attempt playing on-line. Curious detail: the store had both PS Plus cards, one at $59.99 and this one of $49.99. When I asked the employee, the only information I got was "one is newer than the other but they do the same". I checked Sony's website and contact their technical support and guess what, their answer was the same, so THUMBS up to the employee, he gave the correct answer. Appreciate it BBuy team!!!!!!

Definitely a great service. They have been giving two games for each of their systems for a while now. So that could be up to 6 free games a month. The only catch is that they are yours as long as you are subscribed to the service. Meaning, if you stop paying or renewing your yearly PSN membership all the games that you got thru that program are not accessible to you, till you renew it. Unlike Xbox Live that once you get the game it is forever yours. If you stop the XBL service you have access to those games. Otherwise PS plus is a necessity for any PS4 owner. Bought at $40. About as low as it gets. Goes on sale fairly frequently for the months after, and before Christmas. My advice is get one or a couple of them when on sale.
