Played a few games with it so far. System is easy to set up and use. Haptics and headset rumble are excellent and controllers are great. Graphics are a pretty big bump up from original PSVR and immersion is excellent. Motion controls are smoother and much better than original PSVR but still glitch from time to time. Thumb sticks are a welcome addition. The passthrough video is also something I never knew I needed until I had it. My main cons are: Overall price and the amount of at least AA games available that appeal to me personally. Headset has a very small sweet spot and will sag and go blurry unless you have it headache-inducingly tight. Also, if you have glasses the HonsVR lenses (or equivalent) are a good idea. Battery life isn't great with the controllers. Maybe 2-3 hours tops. I got the dock and that helped as long as I faithfully charge after every use it. I'm happy with my purchase given the $200 off sale. I understand the value it offers (foveated rendering, eye tracking, resolution bump, OLED panels, etc., but it's still not worth it at full price IMO.

Certainly better than the PSVR1... just maybe not quite $600 better. Super lightweight and comfortable at first, but I find myself overtightening it as it gradually slides down my face. There's some backwards compatibility, but not a whole lot. I bought a ton of PSVR1 games and I think in total I have two free upgrades and two paid/discounted upgrades. The controllers are improved over the moves, only now they're almost too complicated. They're tricky to set down and put back on. I've found myself hitting the PS button accidentally a few times and they're a bit cramped. Having said that, not setting up an external camera is so essential that I'm never going back to the old set. Being able to turn on the external camera and see Reality Reality in hugely convenient, even if it's just black and white. Graphics are a significant step up. Playing something like Pistol Whip is such an improvement that I don't know how I managed before. Overall, it's a mixed bag given how expensive it is, which could have been said for the PSVR1 as well. Still, VR is just really fun and this is a nice option when you don't own a gaming PC.

The PlayStation VR 2 (PSVR 2) promises an immersive virtual reality experience for PlayStation enthusiasts. The improved display resolution and enhanced graphics contribute to a more realistic and engaging visual experience. The redesigned headset offers increased comfort, ensuring extended gaming sessions remain enjoyable. The upgraded tracking and controllers enhance precision, providing a more accurate representation of hand movements in virtual environments. The ease of setup and compatibility with the PlayStation ecosystem are commendable aspects. However, potential downsides might include the price point and the availability of a diverse range of VR titles. Overall, the PSVR 2 stands as a promising evolution in virtual reality gaming for PlayStation users

    Quite the Conundrum

Pros - High quality HDR OLED display with high refresh rate and decent pixel density - Eye tracked foveated rendering - Eye tracking in general is very good with PS5 games - Easy to use (with PS5, not PC) - Excellent value since it can be used with PS5 and PC - Must have the Globular Cluster CMP2 (Amazon) Cons - Returned 4x before getting a headset with mostly working controllers. - Pooooor quality lenses - Very tiny sweet spot. Don't move your eyes to look around, move your entire head. Again, must have the Globular Cluster CMP2 (Amazon) to keep the sweet spot. - Cheap headphones. We're talking Skull Candy gas station quality. - Poor build quality/materials. Feels extremely cheap when you stretch it out to put it on. Also, the only time your hands touch this headset is when you stretch it out to put it on. - Janky controller tracking that somehow works better on PC than PS5. This headset is a conundrum. Sure the HDR OLED panels and high refresh rate are amazing, and sure the pixel density is fine, but the headset itself does not feel premium. It feels quite cheap. Also, the lenses are very bad and have a tiny sweet spot. Don't let people fool you, it is tiny. I think Sony wants you to move your head when looking in any direction other than directly forward, yet they included eye-tracked foveated rendering. It really is a conundrum. Also, the controllers suck big time. Horizon Call of the Wild is a massive pain to get working. I've had to return 4 different headsets for controller issues before finally settling on one that worked more often than not. Even now I have to turn a controller on and off every time I start certain games. Surprisingly, this isn't an issue on PC with the right Bluetooth adapter (TP-Link WITH firmware update). I recommend this so long as you know what you're getting into and want one headset to use with both PS5 and PC.

Visuals are incredible. The headset is overall very comfortable. Noticed they are making an adapter that will make this headset compatible with PC as well, which I think will put some pressure on the PC VR companies that are charging $1,500+ for the same level of visuals and worse controllers. You haven’t felt fear until playing Resident evil Village or the Resident Evil 4 remake in VR. Can’t wait to try PC VR games on it.

The PlayStation VR2 offers an improved virtual reality experience compared to its predecessor. The higher resolution display and enhanced tracking contribute to a more immersive and visually appealing experience. The simplified setup process is a positive aspect, making it more accessible for users. However, some users might find the lack of major hardware advancements disappointing, as it still relies on the PlayStation camera for tracking. Overall, the PlayStation VR2 is a solid choice for PlayStation enthusiasts and those looking to dive into VR gaming, but it may not be a significant upgrade for existing VR users with high-end headsets.

I've used several different VR systems over the years, and each one has its pros and cons. PC-based VR headsets can be more powerful (if you have a really high-end PC). But gaming on the PC often has hardware and software issues that can leave the user frustrated. The PSVR2 is a different animal in comparison. Right out of the box it works extremely well. If you already have a PS5, this is a plug-and-play system that you can have ready to go in minutes. The visual quality is great, and the controllers are much better than the PSVR1. It also has less wiring than the PSVR1, which is a big plus Now, for the downsides. Compared to the Meta Quest 2, it is wired. Meta Quest is a truly "go anywhere" device that doesn't need to connect to a machine. Compared to PC setups, the games cannot be modded. For example, you cannot add your own songs into Beat Saber- you have to buy their expensive music packs. And compared to the PSVR1, be aware that some great games are not backwards compatible. Superhot, Astro Bot, etc were designed for the old VR system that relied on a camera and the old controllers. So you may find that a game you really wanted to play (or already owned) cannot be used on the PSVR2. None of those issues are a deal breaker, but if they resolved one or two of those and added some more games, I would bump this to 5 stars

As a casual gamer, I'm really impressed with the PlayStation VR2. It's super comfortable and lightweight, making long gaming sessions easy. The visuals are stunning with sharp details and vibrant colors. The new controllers feel great and add a lot to the experience. Setup was a breeze, and there are plenty of games to enjoy. It took a few tries to set up properly, but once it's up and running, the experience is wonderful. Ive tried around 4 games so far and they look incredible. It did give me a bit of virtigo with the games you have to move around a lot (not physically but within the game). After playing more it did get better.

I’ve been using the PlayStation VR2 for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed. The OLED display looks amazing—everything is vibrant and sharp, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes everything feel super smooth. The new Sense controllers are a game-changer too. They provide great feedback, making me feel more immersed in the action. The eye-tracking feature is a nice touch, making the experience feel even more realistic. It’s definitely more comfortable than the original PS VR, and while you need a PS5 to use it, I think it’s well worth the investment for anyone looking for an upgraded VR experience.

This VR headset provides a very immersive experience. It has an excellent game catalog and the headset can be adjusted easily for comfort. You will have an imprint on your face after playing a while. There was a bit of motion sickness at first but it gets better the more often you play.
