Sony GTK-XB90 is perhaps the most exciting bass party speaker I have ever witness and used. The speaker is loaded with features right out the gate that keeps all of your friends in shock. I decided to host a party over the weekend and everyone asked about the speaker and where did it come from drawing them in with the LED colors. Sony Audio team have crafted one of the best Bluetooth speakers I've ever used in years. I love bass heavy music that's just who I am so when I got the chance to use this speaker I jumped on it. I also like to note that there are massive improvements over the XB70 such as the built-in huge battery. Design: It's a massive black beast being 30 pounds but it's not difficult to pick up, Sony designed this speaker with "portability" in mind putting handles on each side horizontally. The Sony logo is imprinted on both sides the GTK-XB90 giving it that nice touch of modern speakers. Colorful LED lights in an oval shape hides behind the grill are beautiful giving this speaker life. Not only that but another separate pair of lights near the speaker changes different colors. It's visually striking to anyone around. Something cool about these speakers is the Infinity mirror that bounces the lights back and forward on a mirror endlessly, creating a nice atmosphere in your party environment. I'm much more a fan of this design over the XB70 as it does set the mood and tone of the room. Lighting becomes intense in darker environments and the mirrors are not reflective to the point you can see yourself in them. If placed vertically you can place an iPad, tablet, or smartphone in a slot at the top. but over this, I would have just preferred a wireless charging spot for your phone/tablet. These speakers are not waterproof so if you have a party on the beach or near the pool I'll keep it a little farther away from the water. The speakers are durable with a thick coat of plastic surrounding the speakers so I think it can take a beating. Sound: With something that looks this good, do they sound good? Yes. They sound incredible. I can't get over how powerful these speakers are. The bass when activated punches through the ground where you can feel it so far away. On the XB90 there are 2 woofers (7.09") and 3 tweeters (2.36" Cones) and they blast so hard through the air. Features DSEE and Clearaudio+ but sadly there is no APT-X in the Bluetooth but LDAC is here. I can't get over how good the speakers sound and friends keep asking where to get them one. I'm by no means an audiophile but I do happen to enjoy these Bluetooth speakers for causal listening experiences as well. I did have the Apple TV connected to it for movies and the bass blast though. honestly, they are great with clarity throughout. As usual Sony Audio team put their heart into engineering a great listening party experiance. Battery life: Lasted the 3.5 hours at the loudest volume all the way through but at normal volume levels I was getting about 12 hours on the battery when unplugged. If I had the speaker on low I got the 16 hours of battery life. so, all in all, I think its good as I most likely won't be blasting out the block all the time. It will most certainly last the hours of a beach party. Features: Its a powerful Bluetooth speaker with a lot of features I happen to enjoy with using this. NFC worked fine with my Google Pixel so Android users have the easy pairing, Phone calls work through the speaker and the speaker itself have a mic on it. Most of the buttons are on the top/side but there are some additional inputs on the back of the speaker. Stamina Button: Allows you to put the speaker in a mode where you can get the max out of the battery life. This helps out if you are using it wireless giving you those few more hours out of the party. It drops the volume giving you another 5 hours of playback. In my experience, it works. (holding down the button will tell you the battery life levels) Function Button: This is for pairing the speakers. Extra Bass: Adds an INSANE amount of bass to the speakers which I love. Add Button: You can add more of Sony XB series line of speakers. Up to 10 speakers if you really want to get insane with it. W Party Chain Button: Yep this would let you use up to 10 speakers. So you can also add nine XB90 speakers with Bluetooth, if one so choose or you can mix it up with the XB40, XB30, XB20 to sync the same music and lights. (Something I will intend to do.) So no matter where you are in the house all the speaker's sync to the same lights/music which I know is a visual treat. -TIP- When the speaker is in standby mode the lights flashes when plugged in. It shows you a demo of the lights while off. To stop the lights just hold down the "W Party Chain" button. if you want to turn demo light mode on again just hold the button down again. Play & Pause Button: Pauses music and plays music. This button can also answer/end phone calls. (Side note here these speakers DO NOT come with a remote like the XB70.) Power Button: Turns off the speaker, Puts it in standby mode. Vol + & - Buttons: Turns up the volume levels. INPUTS & OUTPUTS: RCA Inputs and outputs, USB (playback), and Microphone input. And if you are wondering, yes Karaoke is so much fun when using these speakers. The family had a blast! Music Center / Fiestable app: There is a lot to talk about with the app. Music Center is where you can setup the speakers with various features. you can use EQ's, Change the LED colors of the speakers, local playlist, turn the bass on/off, and a host of other features. Fiestable is where you can use special sound effects like the Ruggie-horn to become your own DJ and can control the color of the LED lights. Sadly while the apps work fine they are super slow to load on both platforms (Android and iOS) and need improvements. There are so many features to these speakers that it's insane, and the main feature is the Sound and bass which is powerful. Sony delivered something special with these speakers and I hope they continue this line of the GTK. Everyone who seen the speaker loved it and its something to behold when you first encounter it. With the improvements over the XB70 I say its worth it. I already recommend this to friends and family who just want an awesome speaker.

The Sony GTK-XB90 is the most powerful, best sounding Bluetooth "Party Speaker" that Sony has released to date. That is no small feat, as Sony created this market & introduces progressively more upscale & bold models. This BEAST is the KINGDADDY of "Party Speakers"! Weighing in at 31 lb & standing a full 26.4" H, 13.2" D & 13.2" W, this speaker makes a powerful statement just by showing up. Fire it up - WOW! LIKES: 1- Fully customizable dazzling lights create a festive atmosphere; you set woofer & surrounding ring colors, as well as the strobe lights wirelessly with a free app. The high-spirited lighting drew more accolades than the musicality of the speaker! At one point, I sat this speaker in the family room during a family reunion with quiet conversation, and turned the music off. Ever changing hues augmented the spirit of good-fellowship in this intimate setting. 2- A microphone jack with variable input level on the back of the speaker blend with direct plug-in or Bluetooth audio to facilitate a perfect Karaoke setup. 3- The Bluetooth range is the most extensive of any speaker I have tested. I set the iPad 30 feet away and it played continuously without any dropouts. One touch NFC Pairing makes Bluetooth connection a breeze for phones so equipped. 4- Audio Equalization, Flanger, Isolator, Wah, and other features are wirelessly customizable via the free App. 5- Extra Bass is a simple, one touch setting on the control panel. It has a similar effect of "Loudness" equalization. I leave it on all of the time. 6- The built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery makes it a killer Tailgating Machine. It can last up to 16 hours with modest volume & no lighting, or 3 hours at full volume, Extra Bass & lighting. 7- The Carry Handle makes this "Party-In-A-Box" easy to transport. 8- I intend to buy a second GTK-XB90 (you can Party Chain up to 10) to spread the sound & lighting. The music & lighting are automatically synchronized! 9- Who else but Sony would include DSEE on a Party Speaker - a cool feature that enhances the quality of compressed digital music files. The Digital Sound Enhancement Engine is very effective & adds clarity to high frequencies. 10- This is the only Bluetooth Speaker I have ever tested with BOTH Audio Input & Output connections. Amazon Fire TV connected to a projector via HDMI, then audio fed to this speaker using R+L RCA jacks change a "tin horn" 3" projector speaker to a room-filling overture. Still not enough bass? Add a subwoofer to the output jacks! BOOM!! 11- Up to 3 smartphones can connect to this speaker simultaneously via Bluetooth, allowing 3) music libraries to share tracks. 12- With 2) 7.09" Woofers & 3) 2.36" Tweeters, the GTK-XB90 plays horizontally or vertically in full stereo. Or add additionally speakers as aforementioned & spread the stereo effect. DISLIKES: 1- I would prefer even more bass at lower overall volume levels. This can be accomplished today by plugging in an external subwoofer to the output jacks. CONCLUSION: Sony totally built the GTK-XB90 to create the ultimate "Party-On-The-Go". It nails this with brute power to play LOUD, yet with the finesse of clear audio. When you ROCK OUT with this Club Speaker, you will earn GEEK CRED! I am loving it!!

The Sony High Power Home Audio System GTK-XB90 is a seriously heavy speaker (30 lbs) and rather large (measuring 26x13x13). Getting it out of the box was a challenge. Amazingly, there were directions on the box flap to help me overcome the situation. I guess it was a common problem that warranted a solution. There are instructions for carrying it safely. It makes me wonder how many workers at the Sony plant had to undergo hernia surgery after trying to remove the system from the conveyer belt. Though I am half joking here, I would caution parents against letting their children attempt to pick it up or move it across the room. The system is an attractive dark gray/black color. The top, bottom and back are smooth surfaces while either side is textured. The front design reminds me of a cross between a modern jukebox and boombox. The system can stand vertically (easier to manipulate the controls) or on its side, horizontally. There are four rubber feet on both the bottom and side to prevent it from scratching the surface upon which it is placed. As soon as I connected the cord, the lights started flashing. (If you wish to turn off the lights demonstration, just hold down the W. Party Chain button for 3+ seconds.) Once I turned on the system, the Bluetooth function immediately went into effect. While there is a USB connection for compatible USB devices, it was advised to connect Apple devices via Bluetooth as the USB connection is not supported. The system does not provide a USB cord, so you will need to use the one that come with your device. There are notes about connecting a device via a USB and the delay that might occur, etc. I encourage you to read about that in the manual so there are no surprises. I only used the Bluetooth connection. Once connected, I was automatically prompted to download the Sony Music Center app and the Fiestable utilities app. I am picky about which apps I load on my players, so I looked up a review of the app to see if I wanted to give up the space. I ended up deciding against downloading either. Just a note, you can only pair up to 8 Bluetooth devices with the system. There is NFC connection for one touch Bluetooth connection with compatible smartphones, etc. There are several features that I really liked: Battery related: 1. The system turns off automatically after 15 minutes when not being used. You can tell if it is off if you don’t see a green light on the power button. 2. The system can be used with the built-in, rechargeable battery or connected to the AC power card. That means the party can go anywhere. 3. You can check the battery level by pressing the Stamina button. The voice guidance message will tell you what percentage is left and the indicator will flash 1x, 2x, 3x, or 4x based on the remaining charge. 4. You can reduce power consumption by pressing the Stamina button on the top, so if there is no power outlet nearby, the party doesn’t have to end so quickly. 5. You can use the system as a battery charger for your music device. 6. The battery can potentially last 16 hours with no lights and moderate volume (3 ½ hours on max volume, 5 hours on max volume in stamina mode). Buttons: 7. The volume buttons (+ / -) are nice and large. 8. There is an Extra Bass button for more dynamic sound!! 9. You can connect to another audio system with the Party Chain function wired or wirelessly. Note – you will need your own audio cords if systems don’t have the wireless function. The reason I got this system is that I wanted a portable speaker that I could hook up to my receiver and wireless mic for when I taught fitness classes at my gym. The Sony system has a mic jack and mic level knob. I was able to successfully set up my devices with the system. The battery related features I mentioned above are a big bonus for me. I love the added lighting effects for the room to motivate the riders in my spin classes! Not needing a power outlet makes it possible to use for outdoor classes or for placement in the front of the room when there is no power outlet nearby. Though this system can be used outside by the pool or on a deck on a nice day, this is really meant for indoor use. It is not waterproof. I wouldn't recommend bringing it to the beach for fear that sand would get inside the front panel. I really like this system. The sound was tremendous - clear and crisp. There are 3 tweeters and 2 woofers. I was really able to crank the volume. I didn't notice too much of a difference with the Extra Bass, but it was probably the songs I was playing at the time. The only downside for me is the sheet weight making it less easy to transport (getting into and out of the car without damaging the car or the system). For that, I would only have dinged the score by a half star, but 4 ½ stars is not an option.

This is not small speaker, it's 30.9 pounds just to give you an idea how much power this speaker has, it's a one stop shop for your music party needs. You can stand this speaker vertically or horizontally. This speaker has 2 sub woofers and 3 tweeters, it's loud enough to be outdoors and more then enough for indoor house parties. No need for another speaker but just in case want to use another one, you can sync up to 10 speakers but they have to be from the Sony XB speakers family. Its has infinity mirrors positioned around the speaker lights. The lighting is sync with the music of your choice, it's really a cool feature. You can also customize the colors settings with the Sony recommended "Fiestable" app which you can download if you really want to take advantage of all the features of this speaker. I personally didn't like the Motion Control option the app has, which allows you to change settings(DJing, Lighting, Replay, Scratching, phaser, isolation) by shaking your phone. It gets kind of annoying. I like the touch screen (its a circle and you touch it to activate and deactivate options) for better navigation between the effects in the app. DJ controls through the app are pretty cool idea, it has a reggaehorn and voice effects which says, "come on, lets go! and Here we go!" which creates a party atmosphere. You can use these effects while playing music at the same time. Over all the Fiestable app is a nice app with easy navigation you can use with this speaker. There are other features through the app; i don't want to get too detailed but I recommend downloading it. You'll enjoy just as much as i did. Ths speaker itself can be used like a simple bluetooth speaker, you can make outgoing calls and receive calls. Sony says it has up to 16 hours of play time not plugged in but if you read the fine print its 16 hrs without lights and volume level 16, and up to 3.5 hours of battery life at maximum volume with lights off as well. You can also use "stamina mode" which will help make the battery life run longer. The bass is nice, the sounds is great when on maximum. No distortion and muffled sound. You can also use a microphone for those karaoke nights, the back of the speaker has a mic level knob. You just need a dynamic microphone with a normal plug in(sold separately). I really like this speaker, i can see myself using it for karaoke nights with friends, having outdoor barbecues, tail gating at sport events. Everyone has been asking me where i got this speaker because they love it too, it's not too big and not too small, it's just right. I would recommend to anyone, this is a great speaker and packs a lot of punch. You won't regret it.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect with this Sony speaker, but after some time spent with it, I can say I am pleased. This is not your typical little blue tooth speaker. At all. It is big. It is loud. Did I mention it is big and loud? Coming in at around the 30lb mark, it absolutely is a substantial piece of speaker hardware. It is also right around 2 feet tall and 1 foot wide. Big. Substantial. Alllll of that said, I think it is just about right and a good weight to be solid when in place and not too heavy to hinder portability. It has a good, well-built feel and solid construction. There are rubber feet on two sides so that the speaker can be orientated in either horizontal or vertical alignments. A nice feature. Although its size is unlike most blue tooth speakers out there, connecting your source will be familiar for nearly all. You can connect via USB, AUX IN or, as I suspect most will, via blue tooth. It is a typical experience here, turn it on and pair with your phone. I had no issues. To get the most out of the speaker, feature-wise, you will want to download two Sony apps, Music Center and Fiestable. Through these apps, you can delve deeper into set-up, use equalizers, change the LEDs on the speakers (yes, there are lights, and there are effects), run playlists, play a multitude of sound effects (reggae horn!), as well as a host of other DJ controls and other things. That said, while functional, and fun, the apps struggle a bit, and it hurts the overall experience. So, after all of that, what about the sound? Well, the sound is good. I found it to have clear, clean, and crisp sound that filled my space with little distortion until hitting the highest volumes. The bass was solid, giving some boom, and there was a nice overall quality bump when using the “extra bass” option, although I would have liked to see a little more bass. Overall, though, I liked the clarity and the throw. Good sound with enough punch and volume to meet my needs. Beyond what I have already said, there are a few other notable positives about the speaker. Although I mostly have used AC, the battery has performed well, and I really like the auto shut off feature and stamina mode which will give you more battery time in a pinch (sound quality does degrade). I also love having the ability to link several units together (I am still waiting to do this). The microphone jack has made for some fun (and regrettable) times. Lastly, given the portable nature of this speaker, and its size, the built-in handle was a really nice touch….and gives it that boom box feel. Ultimately, whether hosting a party (inside or out), breaking it down for karaoke night, chilling at an outdoor BBQ or blowing it out at a stadium tailgate, I think this speaker will meet nearly everyone’s needs. The sound is good and loud, the size is right and there is just enough fun thrown in to make it work!

The sony XB90 is a crazy party in a box. This speaker is huge, so keep that in mind if you’re looking at it. It’s dual woofers pound out some good sound, if a bit muddy by some pickier standards. But alas, if you’re picky about sound nothing about this speaker led you here. It sounds really good in outdoor PA situations where you can really turn it up. I wouldn’t try to use this as a casual speaker, as lower listening volumes can be muddy, and the speaker is quite directional. However for party music - this guy is the bomb. All that said, the main attraction here is the lighting. And what great lighting it is. This is truly a set apart feature of the speaker. It’s like having a mini-dj lighting show. My 2 year old thought it was ‘awesome’ and danced for hours with the ‘Rave’ lighting setting while blaring out the wheels on the bus. You can customize the color, and turn its ‘ADD’ ness up or down (from ‘Rave’ to ‘Solid Color’) with the application on your smartphone. You can adjust many other sound settings and details from the app as well. While there are some buttons and control on the speaker, the app gives you quite a bit of detail control. There is a mic jack, which again helps this in PA style situations. The volume buttons and adjustments are easy to work with. Bluetooth connection was reliable and range was great. The RCA jacks allow both input and pre-amp output, so you can daisy chain these guys together. All in all, they hit the details and connections superbly for a device like this. Probably what makes this the most versatile is the built in battery. It’s probably what adds the most heft, but it gives hours of decent volume playback. While I didn’t push the battery too far, it has hours of playback. This flexibility means that you can party pretty much anywhere. All in all this speaker is a great party device. I’d highly recommend to anyone hosting a party anywhere. Best part, no AC, no problem. You aren’t chained to an outlet, and you get great package for general party usage.

The Sony XB90 is a very cool looking speaker. It’s huge, lots of colorful lights and flashes. However sound quality is not great. When I opened up the speaker the first thing I thought of was big hard hitting sound. I was excited. After connecting to my phone and playing some tracks I was left disappointed in sound quality. Even after playing with sound settings the sound is muffled, no hard hitting bass despite the speakers appearance, and just overall sub par sound. I tried tweaking the sound via the Sony app but it did little to satisfy my ears. I’d classify this as just a loud speaker great for parties or outdoor gatherings where you just want a loud speaker. Build quality is pretty good. Everything is clean and well built. Although, it would have improved sound if they had a wooden enclosure instead of plastic. Also a weird note. Mine smelled like sour yogurt. No joke. Other than that the build quality is good. Connecting to the speaker is like with any other Bluetooth speaker. Turn it on and pair with your phone. The Sony app also provides better control over the speaker. You can control the lighting scheme, sound etc. The app does seem bugged however. Not a smooth experience. You have the option of chaining multiple speakers together. I only have one so didn’t test this feature. You can also plug in a mic via a port in the back if you’re feeling like singing along with your favorite songs. If you’re looking for a loud cool looking speaker for parties this may be the one for you. If you’re looking for quality sound. Definitely look elsewhere.

First let's start with this is a big speaker and it weighs in at about 27 lbs so it isn't going to win any awards for size. However, if you are using it correctly, great speaker. Setup with my Pixel XL was flawless, we had a bit of a pairing issue with an I Phone 6s but after loading the Sony Music Center App all problems resolved. We set this up outside and my boys had some friends over (12-16 year olds). It was a hit, they could make it as loud as they wanted and the lights prompted a dance party that was hilarious. Later I connected it to our projector and watched some movies in the back yard. Our second outing was trunk or treat at school. My 15 year old set it up in the back of the Jeep and played spooky Halloween music, again the light show was a hit. It attracted kids young and old, which also turned into a dance party. We used it a solid 5.5 hours at 75-100% volume and had not battery concerns. The bass is good, the EXTRA BASS is a better sound overall. As with any device at near full volume there is distortion. We found at about 85-90% volume was pretty good. There are several connections to fit just about any circumstance. We liked the feature to be able to connect up to 3 devices. We don't have a second unit so can't comment on the daisy chain feature but in doing some research others have had good success but it does lose some control features when daisy chaining. All in all I would say this is an excellent purchase, what put it over the top was the light show and we didn't know it until boys said they loved it.

ONLY 4 STARS DUE TO NO 3.5MM AUX INPUT, NO MOUNTING OPTION, AND PRICE First off, the speaker comes boxed styrofoamed on both ends wrapped in plastic, typical for this type of electronic piece. The speaker arrived pre charged right out of the box. Lights defaulted to on when it was powered on and it flashed with the music very nicely. The sound quality was crisp and clear with the bass boost also defaulted on. When the bass boost was turned off, the music became more natural and not so bass heavy. I do not expect to use the bass boost as it makes the sound more artificial. Many reviews state that the speaker is very large and heavy. It really is not that heavy and not that big. Compares to the weight and size of a full tower desktop computer. It may be heavy for some, but it is alright for me. The speaker has two handles, one on the bottom and one on the top. Would be better if the handles were on the side to carry it with better weight distribution. The power cord is short and is brickless. I have not tried the speaker at full volume, but it gets loud. Only setback is it has digital +/- buttons for volume and not a twist knob, so you have no idea which volume level you are at. Not a big deal, but an analog knob would be better. For this price, sony could have eliminated the need for apps and put the EQ/lights settings directly on the speaker. Inputs are limited to L/R RED/WHITE RCA and bluetooth with no 3.5mm audio connection requiring a simple adaptor to use a player with only 3.5mm output. Output is limited to the same L/R RED/WHITE RCA. Overall a great speaker and is a good investment for your entertainment needs.

The Sony GTK-XB90 Bluetooth speaker has the one feature over the Sony GTK-XB7 that everyone wants.... portability. This speaker has larger woofers and is larger in overall size than the Sony GTK-XB7. Although to me it seems the GTK-XB7 has more bass to it, most likely due to the large port in the center. But don't get me wrong, the GTK-XB90 has what a party needs! Big sound, improved lighting display with phone app control, ability to party chain up to 10 speakers of the series together via Bluetooth or RCA. I have not done a test to compare run times with Sony's claims but I have not had an issue yet with the battery running low. By pressing and holding in the stamina button the speaker gives you a nice verbal status on how much battery life is left. Sony claims up to 16 hours of play time, or up to 3.5 hours at maximum volume. To me one huge drawback on this model is the handles do not pass through like on the GTK-XB7 making it a little harder to handle with one hand at approximately 30 pounds. This is due to the new lighting design and infinity mirrors on the ends. This is not a show stopper just as long as you use care while handling it so you don't drop it... then the show might stop LoL. The GTK-XB90 is not water/dust proof so care must be taken if around a pool, the beach or on a boat. Standard controls on top with a groove for your phone or tablet and NFC for quick paring with your device. On the back USB for input/charge devices, RCA in/out and microphone input with level control for you karaoke fans. It can be used vertically or horizontally with the provided rubber feet. Overall good bang for the buck and would love to have 2 or 4 to use the party chain ability.

This speaker is seriously powerful for something that operates on battery power. The sound produced easily filled up a voluminous space (1500 sqft) with practically no loss in audio quality or thumping bass. The speaker is very large; easily 2' tall x 1.5' deep x 1' wide. It can sit on its side. The handle is appropriately located and, while the speaker is on the heavier side probably thanks to the huge battery required, you'll never feel unbalanced carrying it. The battery life is actually pretty good, although the "stamina" mode for the battery seems to drain a bit of the life out of the sound (to my ear it was the mid-range frequencies). Unleashed, this could easily provide amazing ambiance for a block party or a mid-to-large sized room. I host a lot of events and I'm planning on utilizing this for podcast playbacks and panels at comic con. I have the MUCH SMALLER Sony XB30 Bluetooth Speaker; it also has impressive sound for the size factor. The lights are similar on both models; the strobe and border lights are pretty fun to watch. Bluetooth connection is quick and speedy, the "party chain" is easy to use and connects other Sony speakers via Bluetooth for fast multi-point sound. The battery life is good; it'll outlast your event for sure, but it also plugs in as well in case you need it. You can also connect via USB, AUX (in and out), and there's a microphone port as well with an independent volume level. If you host any sort of events where you need to bring audio equipment, this is a good addition to your lineup. I'd expect to see these populating community centers and other similar venues soon.

The Sony GTK-XB90 speaker is great for small gatherings. With Bluetooth connectivity, the Sony Home Audio speaker is very easy to connect. I was enjoying my music in no time. With two subwoofers and three tweeters, you get great sounding audio for full entertainment. As for bluetooth connectivity, I decided to test how far I could get my phone away from the speaker while still playing my music. I left the speaker in my living room and walked around my home without any connectivity issue. I was really surprised about this. My brother has an off brand bluetooth speaker similar to this one and his has lots of connectivity issues with poor bluetooth range. You have the option to stand the speaker in an upright position, or to put it in a horizontal position. When placed horizontally, the tweeters automatically switch to the two top tweeters to provide clear audio. The speaker also comes equipped with LED lights that you can control via an app (Infinity Mirror Lighting). Another thing that makes this great is the fact that you can connect up to ten of these speakers to create a "Party Chain." This will definitely be a must if you plan to use these for bigger events, as one speaker will not be enough for a large gathering. It also doesn't have to be an Xb90 speaker, and can be an xb60, xb40, etc. You can also hook up a microphone to the speaker, so you might even be able to use it as a karaoke at a party. The Sony XB90 speaker was the perfect addition to my garage. I crank this thing up whenever I am out working on my car, and I will definitely use it for small parties. The only downside to the speaker is its price at $450. Aside from the price, I would recommend the Sony XB90 speaker to anyone.

The Sony GTK-XB90 is a big speaker that packs a big sound punch. Perfect for a party or karaoke, the strobe lights, led lights and infinity mirrors provide visual accompaniment to the thumping music. The speaker is portable because it has a rechargeable battery that will give you up to 16 hours of play time. The Sony Music Center app allows you to control the music and the lighting and there is a mic input that will allow you to talk or sing along with the music. This can also be party chained wirelessly with other GTK-XB90 speakers to expand the sound. Not only does the music sync between all of the speakers, but the lights sync as well. It can be positioned upright or on its side, and has rubber feet on two sides to accomodate either position. The sound is clear, smooth and loud but it's the ambiance that makes this speaker shine. It's a really cool speaker!

This is not your average little bluetooth speaker. But works the same way. This unit stands tall at just over 2 feet. (26.38" inches). Connecting to the unit was very easy. On my iphone just opening settings, then bluetooth and found it fast. But you will want to download the app to play with the lights, power the unit off, and may other useful features. This speaker gets LOUD!!! Great for large events, picnics, parties and here in New Orleans walking parades. Just strap it to a wagon and now you have a party on wheels. I have been having so much fun with this unit I can't wait to get another one to "party chain" aka link them together. I have been very please with the battery life. And have not ran out of juice at any event yet. Of course starting with a fully charged battery every time. And you can keep an eye on the battery level in side the Music Center app. Turning off the lights will keep the party going longer. Oh ya it has sweet color changing lights and strobe lights too. The unit it self feels very well built with a mesh metal grill protecting the speakers. It can be used vertically or horizontal. I would highly recommend this to a friend or family.

I wanted the loudest portable bluetooth speaker possible in this price range. Though the XB60 is almost as loud, but smaller, I was really curious on getting the XB90; besides I figured I could always buy an XB60 later. PROs: ~very very very loud indoors, and fills up the sound space very nicely. -very loud outdoors. by itself on full blast it can definitely out-power the Ion and ExoxGear speakers within the same price range ~punchy-bass ~sound quality is not distorted ~much lower price when initially released ($450-500 on debut) CONs: ~not waterproof or dustproof (this feature is not important to me, but may be to someone else) ~heavy, definitely to a point where one might consider buying two XB60s (which you can find a carrying case for), as opposed to a single XB90 (no known carrying case on amazon currently) ~not sure is the "EXTRA BASS" function is just a gimmick, but when I turn mine on or off, there is no noticeably difference in sound. in other words, the bass function appears to be on always

First impressions of this speaker: this is large (28.5" x 13" x 13'), heavy (about 30 pounds) and solidly built. This is by far the largest Bluetooth speaker I have ever used, and the sound is as big as its size. If you are looking for a speaker with high volume, thumping bass, then you won't be disappointed. As far as features go, everything works as it should and Bluetooth pairing is pretty easy, especially if you have a device with NFC capabilities. I recommend downloading Sony's suggested apps, if for nothing else because it adds a 7 band equalizer, which greatly improves the overall sound quality. I am not a DJ of any sort, but the apps' DJ functions (light and sound effects) are kind of fun to play with. If you are a DJ, then this speaker's Wireless/Wired Party Chain feature is capable of stringing together up to 10 speakers. This speaker does include an internal rechargeable battery but I cannot confirm Sony's battery life claims since I have mine permanently plugged in to AC power, but this thing would be about the ultimate outdoor party speaker.

We bought 2 of these speakers when they were on sale for black Friday for $299.99 so they where actually cheaper then the smaller version of this same speaker that cost $349.99. They are so clear while still having good, bass. The only issue we have is we bought 2 for taking places and having a more of surround sound. But they are so heavy we only ever bring 1 with us anywhere. My Husband actually stores the 1 we bring inside his old gym duffel bag, to help with lugging it around. So our only real complaint is essentially of use. We wish it had some small wheelS on the bottom corner so we could roll it around. Otherwise great product and the ease of linking the 2 speakers wirelessly for sound and lights displays is a great feature.

This is not your average bluetooth speaker that you take with you on a tropical beach vacation. This speaker stands tall at just over two feet and weights in at 30 pounds. It is great for tailgating, backyard cook outs and large events. The built-in battery lets you take your music anywhere you wish. And with out the need for a power cord. Connecting to the speaker is easy via bluetooth from any smartphone or tablet. Then simply pick your favorite music app and you are up and running. Downloading the music center & fiestable app gives you the ability to customize the unit. From playing with the lights, changing the song or just powering the unit off. And with "party chain" you can connect up to 10 compatible speakers, synchronizing the music and lights. Over all it has good sound and as advertised extra bass. This unit gets loud.

This is one of the best purchases that I have ever made. This speaker is incredibly loud both indoors and outdoors. I cranked this puppy up at a camp and walked accross the creek to see if I could still hear it. It was still crystal clear over the sound of the water. The bass is great too. Since it has an amazing battery, you don't need a power supply. I usually have buyers remorse when I spend a nice chunk of money on something, but not this time! The only imperfection I could find with this speaker is that the power button is to easy to bump on when I'm transporting it. Not a big deal when you become conscious of it though. I was going to buy two of them, but after hearing one, there is no need for a second.

This speaker is crazy loud, and crystal clear! You could easy host a backyard party with just one of these. I've been using it for when I watch movies via my projector on my garage door outside. My family loves it. It sounds amazing, and luckily the neighbors haven't complained yet. A couple of them have heard it, and then came over to check it out and stayed to watch the rest of the movie. You can link a bunch of these together via bluetooth, which is crazy to me, but I could see a DJ having a few of these setup at a party. The lights are cool, but most of the time I have them turned off. The only downside to this speaker is that it's pretty heavy. It would be nice/convenient if it had a handle and some wheels to transport it.
