Where do I begin with this review the Sony PlayStation 3-D headphones let me tell you for being a PlayStation product. It’s good quality. The years are bendable to a certain degree. They fit over the ears. When you apply them onto your head and with the headband included. There’s no pressure, over time of use your ears will get warm and hot because the leather traps in the heat when you wear them over the years, over time of use your ears will get warm and hot because the leather traps in the heat when you wear them over the ears 2 when paired with the PlayStation five itself, you must takeoff the rest mode on your PlayStation, in or in order to pair it, whether you plug it directly into the back of the PlayStation, or use a USB hub adapter to get more port. You must put the PlayStation rest mode off if you wanted to pair it and work properly other than that it will not connect, and no audio will come out, and no audio will come out I found this out by looking up online cues for the same problem, and I troubleshoot it through my audio steps into the PlayStation must keep the rest mode off in order to work. 3 the 3-D audio sound policy is awesome. You can definitely hear the next player coming behind you in any direction that you footsteps in call of duty and with the EQ set up built inside the PlayStation that works with these headphones you can adjust the sound quality and the base to each individual liking to its user for me, I like it with a little bit of heavy-based and to have more of an echo quality of a sensitivity direction to get a bit of sense of where the next player is coming from and where the bullet shots are coming from but when playing a racing game the engines to echo around and playing marvel, Spider-Man you definitely get that spatial sense of being surrounded in 3-D audio 4 The battery life 30 hours to 35 hours of playtime on a full single charge whether you play 30 hours straight or use it for every three hour play streaming session like I do off of a single charge you get 30 hours of battery life and the battery indicator does tell you when it does get low and if you want these headphones, please update your PlayStation, its new firmware, because they just corrected and enhance the audio output for these headphones and Adobe at sound My only for these headphones is the fact that we for a long time we do get warm so your ears feel kind of toasty and if you do wear glasses, it won’t compress your glasses any further, but you will feel some discomfort after long use so it’s good when you wear them so we get your skin but don’t play these on high high volume if you have sensitive ears because the are Strong so that’s my only kind that it makes your ears feel warm after long use Overall for the price of 150 Sony, PlayStation has put in the research to make these headphones, pretty awesome and being a headphone guy myself that’s tried a bunch of different brands for headphones from music and gaming audio and as a streamer, I do use the PlayStation 3-D pulse while I’m streaming from my consul so if you’re looking for a budget, friendly headphones, these are it if you are streamer or just playing online, these are decent headphones to have for just a starter or at least a mid range budget if you don’t wanna break the bank so I highly recommend 100%

3D audio offers an incredible immersion in compatible games: you can feel where the sounds are coming from. • Very comfortable, even after several hours of use. • Stable wireless connection using the USB adapter, without cuts or noticeable latency. • Includes built-in controls to adjust volume, chat/game balance and microphone silence. • Battery up to 12 hours, enough for several gaming sessions.

Sound is excellent and very precise. I use this for PS4 & ps5 console. I use for video watching and game playing. Sound is great, headphones are comfortable for few hours of use. Initial wear can be a bit bearing on the ears, however, if you use them every day for several hours, you won’t notice it at all. If you use them a few times a week, won’t notice anything besides awesome sound quality. Impressive for 100$. Very user friendly. Lots of functions. Can adjust ingame peer 2 peer chat vs ingame environmental sound effects. For the price they are awesome and light weight. Will not be choosing any other brand than pulse 3D by Sony. 5*

Coming from a PlayStation Gold headset user, this is definitely familiar but a step up. Superior battery life, ease of use, sleek design to match the console and other accessories. Good audio quality, clear mic. Very comfortable, not too much pressure on the head and adjusting the size happens as you put it on because the headband slides to accommodate. The hidden mics are nice, but depending on how familiar you are with the button layout you may brush up against the mic a few times searching for buttons, causing moderate to loud noise for people in party chat. But other than that, it’s a solid headset.

Great headset for gaming - not general use.

These are a good pair of gaming headphones. They are at their best if being used with a PS5 which is what they are specifically designed to interact with. While they will acquit themselves nicely on a PS4 or PC - you're not getting all the bells, whistles and general functionality you will with a PS5. After a couple of weeks - here is my take: 1. These are gaming headphones first and foremost. If you're looking for something for more general use, I'd recommend looking into a bluetooth enabled, noise cancelling set of which there are plenty on the market. 2. The sound truly is great. These are designed to take advantage of Sony's propriety Tempest 3D sound engine and they do a great job of that. You will hear things around, above and below you. It's not as good as a proper 5.1 / 7.1 surround sound system but show me a pair of headphones that is. CAVEAT - Any good pair of headphones will support the PS5s 3D audio. I compared these with my Sony 1000XM4s (which I love). I would say that while the 3D audio on the Pulse3D is noticeably better it is not significant enough to justify the purchase if you already have a good, quality gaming headset. 3. They are WIRELESS - not bluetooth enabled - because the PS5 does not support native bluetooth. While this is BAFFLING in 2021 - the fact remains you have to plug a dongle into your PS5 in order for these to be wireless. They seem to work just as well plugged directly into the PS5 controller via the included 3.5mm audio cable. You can allegedly use them on your PC as well with the dongle although I have not tried that. Thus - you can't connect these to your bluetooth enabled cell phone, tablet, sound bar, TV, etc. 4. They provide a degree of passive noise cancellation but not to the level you would get out of the 1000XM4 or Bose. Again -if you're looking for noise cancelling headphones - this probably isn't what you want. 5. For me - they're very comfortable. They sit on top of your ears without crushing them. I wear them for extended gaming sessions with no problems. OVERALL - This is an excellent headset for gaming. If you're in the market for a new gaming headset - this is one to consider. At $100, it's on par with Hyper-X in terms of sound quality and performance. If you have a PS5, you'll get more out of it than you would using it on a PC or other gaming system. If you already have a high quality gaming headset or even a good set of noise cancelling headphones, you can probably wait on these until you're in the market.

Build: Sleek, unique design; comfortable; durable. There is no mechanism to adjust the headset to your head, it's designed in a way where it simply conforms to your head shape and for most of us, that works just fine. I take great care of my things, so durability isn't a main concern for me; nevertheless, the Pulse feels just fine and I have no worry that it'll break or snap. Audio / Mic Quality: The audio was pretty solid across the few games that I tested (CoD: BO-CW, BFV, and a few other non-FPS games). I did not feel like anything was lacking or that any element was overpowering; simply well-balanced overall. The mic, on the other hand, does not match up the audio quality as it leaves the user wanting more crispness/less muffling. This was true in my own personal experience but also according to many reviews I've read. Features & Miscellaneous: Perhaps a minor but desired change is that I wish the power button was isolated and located on the opposite side from the rest of the functions for ease of access/convenience factor. On a positive note, the on-screen indicator of things such as battery life is welcomed and, as far as I've come to know, is unique to this headset as it is a first party product. I should note that I had also managed to acquire the Arctis 7 (not the 7P) during this time and therefore compared it side by side with the Pulse 3D for a fairly extensive period of time. While that is a great headset as well, with a slight advantage in comfortability and probably a superior mic, I was content enough with the Pulse 3D (especially at the price that I got it for in the end - see below for details). For anybody who is on the border of deciding between the two products (Pulse 3D and 7 / 7P models), ultimately I feel that the extra $50 is warranted, if you are adamant about gaining the extra comfortability and better mic quality, mainly. Aside from the review of the actual product, I have this to share as a precaution to anybody else who may wind up in the same scenario as myself: I was fortunate enough to find the Pulse 3D as an open-box at Best Buy for $79.99 in January 2021. It was rated as being in "excellent" condition, which is exactly what I would expect since this is such a new product. And it indeed was in excellent shape, except for the fact that the dongle was missing. Upon returning to the store and bringing the issue to the attention of the supervisor, the best he was able to do for me was offer a refund of $10. I explained that this product was very hard to find new, let alone open-box (which was a great deal at $79.99 for something that is practically new) and that I was not willing to let go of it because of their fault. I had to remind him that it's his staff's duty (and the company altogether) to ensure that returned items are inspected carefully before being resold. Yes, I was not obligated to keep the headset at this point, but it was also sold to me with a false claim that explicitly stated as having "no missing parts". I always rest on principle, and on this they failed, at least initially. Considering the inconvenience I was now facing as a customer to have to revisit the store for a measly $10 refund AND without being offered a more satisfying solution (such as Best Buy attempting to obtain a dongle for me from Sony directly - to be fair, I'm unsure if that's even a viable option, but you get my point), I was going to make sure I wasn't going to remain in a lousy predicament after having invested time, energy and money into this company and their problem. This particular store location was not my home location, mind you; I had better faith in the one I regularly visit. So, I visited my own town's store and spoke to the supervisor there. I explained everything concisely and effectively and I could just tell that she was understanding the issue fairly each step of the way. She expressed how even she's had similar experiences and by the next moment, she offered me a $25 refund/gift card which was appreciated and satisfying at this point. This was in addition to the $10 that was previously refunded to me at the original store. As a final note, when testing the Pulse 3D, I did have the dongle in my possession by this time and therefore used and continue to use it wirelessly, as it was intended. I obtained the dongle by own means and Best Buy never played a part in assisting me with that, just that they refunded me a total of $35 (from two separate encounters) for the missing part which I believe was the least that they can do and in the end I was appreciative of the manager who did in fact help me out. I don't take these faults lightly from corporations and I believe that they are obligated to to go above and beyond in such instances where they fail to meet a certain standard and/or the REASONABLE expectations of their paying customers.

Let me start out by saying this is my first gaming headset. I have a large head, but this fits comfortably for a long period of time. The charge lasts much longer than I play games for in a day, so that is fine with me. It’s not as long as some others I’ve seen though. I love that it fits so comfortably, and the 3D audio is amazing! Music also sounds great on it, and the microphone is sufficient. The only thing I wish was different is the dongle. I’d love to have a USB c dongle, but this wasn’t done so it could work on PS4 as well.

    Kind of magical

I purchased this headset to replace the platinum headset I had that got VERY uncomfortable after a couple hours... So far, I’ve played Ghost of Tsushima and BF1 with this headset and it’s kind of magical. The engineering that went into this headset is ridiculous and I don’t know how they did it, but it’s kind of insane... Playing BF1, I can seriously hear enemy footsteps from like 30 feet BEHIND me and the location is SPOT ON. If I closed my eyes I could point in the exact direction the person is and probably tell you for far away they are just based on the sound this headset produces... kind of magical... BF has always had a world-class sound design. But if the sound is this good on a non Tempest audio 3D game, I can’t even imagine what it’ll sound like with that audio encoding... The headset is pretty comfortable and definitely lighter than the platinum was. I just sits on the head better. All the controls are on the left ear can and they can be confusing so you’ll want to study them a bit. But you can also see what you’re doing on screen which really helps. The Pulse also has mic monitoring which is huge! No more raising my voice because I can’t hear myself... So far, I’ve used the Pulse for a few sessions and the battery hasn’t budged from the 2/3 charge that it came with. So I imagine on a full charge you’ll get the 12 hours Sony quoted. If you’re looking for a really good headset that won’t crush the bank, the Pulse is it! If you’re getting PS5, I seriously think it’s a must! The Pulse with the Tempest audio is probably going to be absolutely mind blowing!

I’ve been using these for a couple of months now, and I must say they meet my expectations very well. They’re affordable and extremely comfortable to wear. The sound quality is quite good, and the battery life lasts up to four hours. They can also be used in wired mode. The only downside I've experienced is that they don’t automatically power off when not in use. I’ve accidentally left them on multiple times, which has prevented me from using them to play my games. Other than that, I highly recommend these headphones.

Sounds GREAT on a PS4, as PS 5 impossible to get a fair price. Wireless, easy access to controls and love the fact to turn up volume on people talking too rather than game sound. Works right out of the box with zero problems. Bought for son, a gamer, and wondered why he never bought before. In comparisson of the price, these have the greatest amount of high ratings based on users, and reasonable pricing. Would recommend and buy again.

I have many gaming headphones. Literally many. I’ve tried several with the ps5. While my other headphones might sound more punchy. These ps5 headsets are perfectly made for the ps5 obviously. 3D audio is amazing. Seamless connection and super light weight. Also the price is perfect as well. They could have charged 149? And people would have still bought and loved. Very happy with this set.

Playstation has made a huge step up with this headset. 3D audio, surround sound, comfort ear cups, left ear controls, pin point accuracy in depth of sound, wireless, and long battery life. This is arguably the best headset I’ve ever owned. The earmuffs fit nicely around my ears, and the elastic band on top allows the headset to rest comfortably. The sound and controls are great, and it seems to have a pretty good battery life. The price tag is pretty fair as well considering it’s Sony, wireless, and works for both PS4 and ps5. I’m using it on PS4 right now, but I’m excited to use it on my ps5 when my it arrives.
